Went in for a scan this morning, 9 weeks today, bean measured 6 weeks and no heartbeat. Was booked in for repeat scan next Friday to check (cause a grown woman can't possibly know her blooming dates Hmm ) they didn't give me any info or advice on what to expect or what to do, who to call, stay at home, come into hospital, nothing.

I had a little bleeding brown and red last few days and now it's gone heavier and numerous large clots coming away. No pain as yet. have popped a couple of codeine, put on large thick pad, comfy leggings, sorted out my hot water bottle, had a bit to eat and got comfy with duvet on sofa.

What can I expect? I don't want my baby to go down the toilet Sad

Hi Foof/Daisy

Thank you for updating, somehow I missed posting on your thread before, if so, I'm very sorry for what you've been through. Glad your AF has arrived - less limbo. The WTF cycle Grin how true! I think that we are the same age and know what you mean about wanting to give your husband a child but being uncertain.

Hello, Foof here x

Just wanted to bookend this thread for those who may come across it months or even years later, I know it annoyed me when I was frantically googling that hardly anyone went back to say how things turned out.

I bled like a period for a week and spotted for another 2 weeks and now 38 days (5.5weeks almost) since I miscarried, I got AF this morning :)

The last two weeks I was having very strong pregnancy symptoms and I can only put this down to the first cycle after a mc being not so affectionately called the WHAT THE FUCK cycle (WTF)! It wasn't something I was expecting and hadn't really read much about what first periods are like, or the run up to them!

It's upto you what you feel like doing and noone will expect anything. Though you may have to have a scan to make sure everything has healed properly. So sorry just take it easy and eat loads of crap food xx

I feel like I've been sobbing for ages, but it's only been a day. I don't know whether the crying is helping me deal with it though, I just feel a bit pathetic to be honest.

I agree that you should take someone with you to the scan. If I decide to go to mine (which I don't know that I will yet) then I will have my dp with me, and my dad will be driving us there and back.

Oh love, moist tissue is your friend right now for the first issue, the cry will come when you least expect it, and probably at the most inconvenient time!

First poo after mc, not unlike a first poo after giving birth, a bit ouchy and tender!

Have yet to have a good sob and sorely needing one but can't seem to. Although did just have a wee cry on phone when saying to OH to unbook his half day off for when we should have been having 12 week scan Sad

Oh foof, today do whatever feels best for you, I would suggest having someone with you on Wednesday though. They are not going to expect sparkling conversation, you might be grateful for a hand to hold though. You waste your day, do whatever takes to get through, there are no right or wrong ways to deal with what you are going through, and keep posting, you have an army of ladies here to help you.

No not really, don't know if I want to be alone or not. same as this scan coming up, told OH not to come, we can't afford him to take more time off anyway but his mum offered to come, I kind of want someone there but also kind of don't. I just don't know! I don't know what I want.

I'll probably just tidy up and pretend everything is normal and waste the day on here, fb and watching shite on TV x

No your not, don't be hard on yourself. Is there anyone else you have who can come over for a cuppa? Otherwise distract yourself with crap bank holiday tv.

a bit bereft and not quite knowing what to do with myself. limbo. OH gone back to work today, offered to stay off again but can't afford it and it really makes no difference as it doesn't feel like he's here for me, rather here to play x box.

god I'm such a cow

Hope managed to sleep ok last night. I am pleased they have brought your appointment forward. How are you feeling today?

FoofFighter · 09/04/2012 08:48

Phoned EPU they want me in Wednesday morning to scan and not to wait till already booked appointment on Friday. Hopefully can then put this chapter to bed and get on with healing.

funthatisfunny · 08/04/2012 20:39

Ah, weeping... I cried at radiohead's 'no alarms and no surprises... please...' song on in the rovers on corrie. Blubbed mah wee heart out. Hormones be damned, but we WILL be ok.

I'm really sorry you have had to go through all this foo :( x

It sounds normal Foof Sad. I'm sorry you're having to go through this.
DH v kindly went out and bought me some of the foods that I'd missed like pate and posh cheese. It didn't exactly make me feel any better, but it was lovely of him.
