Hi everyone, this is a place for anyone who's had an ectopic pregnancy - whether you want to moan, cry, fret or just have a chat with other people who understand. I know there's lots of other good websites on ectopic pregnancies but after hijackingchatting with sunshine on another thread, I thought I'd start one here.

Well I'll get the ball rolling with my story - after a MMC in November (found out at the 12 wk scan that the baby had died at 10 wks) I was just getting myself sorted, having counselling, when I had the ectopic. I know I am lucky in that I have a lovely DD. Having had a normal pregnancy, I knew from the beginning this one was not good and as soon as I got a BFP I was down at the hospital.

After 10 days of mental torture, waiting around, scans, rescans, blood tests, it got too late for the methotrexate (they finally saw the ectopic in a scan on a Friday early evening and the methotrexate wasn't in stock Hmm)

I finally had the surgery to remove one tube on the Tuesday. This was the end of February, at first I wasn't sure how I would cope, but I am just plodding on. I know I am lucky that it didn't rupture, but honestly I can't think of having an ectopic as being lucky. Especially after a MMC Sad.

Anyway, come join me if you want to share your story, I have Wine, Brew and Thanks

Terrys, your remaining tube will float between ovaries so every month is worth trying. X

tuckingfits · 14/10/2014 15:45

Really? I've never heard of that. I am astonished.

Tranquilitybaby · 14/10/2014 16:03

Yep I was amazed when the surgeon told me. Our bodies are amazing! X

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 23:04

Aww thanks Terry

Lost my left tube in April, so there's definitely hope xx

Cariad2014 · 15/10/2014 23:14

Awesome news Tranquility. Slightly petrified about starting to ttc again after a cp in June and having my right tube removed last month, but your experience gives me hope.

Here's to a very happy, healthy pregnancy and a wonderful Summer baby at the end of it.

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 23:16

I can totally sympathise with that feeling cariad, I felt exactly the same. The thing is, there's a 10% chance it'll happen again and a90% chance it won't so the odds are good!!

Thank you, it's very weird reading those words! X

tuckingfits · 15/10/2014 23:46

Ahh!! Congratulations!!

hello ladies

I have a question for you... if you had a laparoscopy did your cycles permanently change afterwards? I expected my first cycle straight after mine to be wtf but the 2 cycles since then have been 2/3 days longer in terms of ovulation date and cycle length. Anyone else had this?

Lovemylittlebear · 23/10/2014 15:10

Hi Guys,

I just got a BFP. I am really confused as have been trying to chart and my last period started on 2nd October. I think I ovulated on day 5....(the chart thought I ovulated 5 days ago...but then surely I wouldn't have a positive yet?) Anyone any ideas? I want to have an idea so I can ask for an early scan as won't be able to celebrate unless we get good news then. Thanks xxx

Tranquilitybaby · 26/10/2014 03:31

love do you have any pain at all? X

Lovemylittlebear · 26/10/2014 04:55

No pain at all. Just normal pregnancy symptoms. Though I didn't know last pregnancy was ectopic until had heavy bleeding on week 7...I thought I was having a normal pregnancy then. So pleased to get our bfp but can't celebrate until we know things are ok. If anyone else has had a viability scan after previous ectopic would be great to here. Thanks xx

TerrysNo2 · 26/10/2014 20:17

love congratulations!! phone your gp ASAP and they will book you in for an early scan at the epu. Good luck! Smile

Caitmous · 26/10/2014 21:19

Congratulations! I had a reassurance scan at six weeks (last week) which confirmed that this pregnancy is in the right place.

But be warned if you also have a scan this early that they might not be able find a heartbeat. The lovely sonographer was reassuring that that was just because it's early days. But I have to go back next week for another scan. So not out of the woods yet...

Fingers crossed for you.

Lovemylittlebear · 26/10/2014 22:11

Hi all

thanks so much :) don't feel like we can celebrate yet though I am so emotional. I think I ovulated a week early as my period isn't due for another week and I tested positive on tuesday. I asked when I could have a scan and they said after 6 weeks but I was concerned I might be more like '7 weeks' if I ovulated early...just a bit anxious that if it is another ectopic I don't want to leave it too long before I know - as the previous one completely knocked me over.

Congrats Caitmous on your scan and I am hopeful you will have your little heart beat in the next scan xxx

Tranquilitybaby · 26/10/2014 22:14

I have my scan at EPU on Thursday to check everything is in the right place, i'm terrified.

Caitmous would you mind talking me through what happens please?

Emmalouise261 · 26/10/2014 22:15

Hi all. 8 years ago I had an ectopic Pregnancy which led to surgery. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant with my second child and have been experiencing extremely painful period pains no bleeding and is due for an emergency scan in 2 days. I'm so scared incase it's another ectopic and iv waited so long for this. I'm very bloated. Lack of apitite and feel sick with the pain. Can anyone shed any light on this please x

Tranquilitybaby · 26/10/2014 22:15
