I can't believe it. I've left a job I love due to crippling anxiety from the the menopause. I feel so empty inside 😞

I have had a very mixed week where it felt like I was going over the edge of the cliff. My sleep was diabolical - any I managed to get wasn’t restful and I had a massive panic attack which is new for me. Also lots of crying. LOTS. Thankfully I had booked time off work already for my birthday this week so I haven’t had to deal with work on top of it. Had my appointment for my Mirena coil yesterday but the doctor couldn’t fit it so that was a painful and difficult half hour. But the good news is that I walked out of the surgery with gel and two types of oral medication - my lovely doctor is throwing the whole kit and kaboodle into play to tackle my symptoms. Obviously it’s early days, but just having the medication makes me feel better - even if it a placebo effect - and being listened to and taken seriously is immense. The weather here today is lovely so I have taken myself into town in the sunshine to get some fresh air and a spot of lunch. I am going to be so incredibly damn nice to myself for the next few days.

Hello @Greaselightening I haven't been here much. I hope you and others are getting the necessary assistance, medical care and guidance. Love and support from families and friends.
I wish all of you well.x

I had a hysterectomy a year ago due to Fibroids and Endometriosis. It has been managed very poorly. The hrt keeps activating the Endo. I am under a Meno specialist. Work have been great but it is a stressful industry, so I decided to leave.
I don't recognise who I am anymore. Its frightening. X Thank you everyone X

I'm so sorry. What sort of HRT are you taking? I started bio identical (made in a compounding pharmacy, a cream applied daily) It saved me from total insanity due to menopause (natural, not due to a hysterectomy) Would switching to bioidentical be something you could ask your doc about? (If you aren't already using that type)

The hormone changes caused anxiety?
I used to have really painful and heavy cycles. I'd be too scared to arrange to go anywhere during the time.
I did have some HRT patches for a while, but now use the vitamin tablets that have an extra herbal tablet. Not sure if allowed to say brand names but initials are M Pace Plus.
I now feel so free not having them that it feels like I'm starting to live more.
