Would anyone be interested in a Northern Ireland meet up?

Congrats to LMSS! Dara is a lovely name. Give him a cuddle from me!

DS is such a heavy lump (22lbs) at 6.5 months now, I can't even remember how light he felt to hold as a newborn Confused

You are a trooper for getting through such a long labour! Take it easy and rest.

See you sometime in the not-too-distant future.

booyhoo · 02/09/2010 09:35

ha, no-one on this earth will blame you for wanting to lie in bed for the next month after that labour.

you rest up and don't worry one wee bit about us. we will post all the goss on here for you so you aren't missing out.

Tee2072 · 03/09/2010 08:28

Booyhoo we do not goss, we tell factual and interesting stories about the people we know. Grin

Anyway, we are indeed a week away! Shall we finalize details?

Location: Play place at Connswater
Time: 10am
Date: Friday 10th September 2010 (Why do people put the year on these things? Do they think others will be confused and show up a year late? Or perhaps think they are to time travel to a year earlier?)

So, as of today, who is in?

Adam and I are!

booyhoo · 03/09/2010 09:51

of course Tee, factual and interesting stories Wink

ds2 and I shall be there.

bottyburpthebarbarian · 03/09/2010 11:31

I'll be there!!!

TakeLovingChances · 05/09/2010 10:33

DS and I should be there, though I don't think we'll be there for 10am....

Should be good fun and it'll be nice to see you all again.

bottyburpthebarbarian · 05/09/2010 13:27

I am so excited - whereabouts at Connswater is it?

Only thing is I have to be back in Ballymoney for 1.30 to collect DD2 from school

Tee2072 · 05/09/2010 16:05

Botty it's in its own building on the left as you come off the Albertbridge Road into the shopping centre. It's huge, you really can't miss it!

MamaMary · 05/09/2010 21:47

CONGRATULATIONS LMSS!!!

I hope you are doing ok? It'll definitely take you a while to recover from labour, so take it easy (as much as is possible with a newborn)...

And what a lovely name - how is little Dara doing? You're right - will definitely have to introduce him to Claire!

Regarding the meet-up, not sure if I will be able to make it, though I'd like to. Mornings tend to be busy feeding times here though - I tend to be able to make it out of the house around midday but rarely earlier.

dingdong3 · 06/09/2010 11:14

Congrats LMSS!!! Love the name and well done on surviving a long labour...hope the recovery is going to plan.
So exciting that we will soon have two new little ones at our meet ups! I defo suggest that LMSS passes on Friday as I tried to do too much after DS was born and I really paid for it 5 or 6 weeks later. When the twins were born I had a PJ only rule for 4 weeks to force me to stay in and rest....can be tempting to try to be a super woman. DON'T DO IT!

Am sneaking back in after about 3 weeks of hardly any MN....was away visiting SIL and just got back in time for back to school so the past week has been v busy.

Can't wait to see everyone again on Friday. I'll be there prob before 10 as I'll go straight from dropping DS to school.

TakeLovingChances · 06/09/2010 12:54

Dingdong what you said reminded me of something funny that happened just after DS was born.

DH was still off on paternity leave and 6 days after DS was born I had a big urge for a chinese meal for lunch.

Proud-new-parents DH and I loaded DS into his pram, walked through our town to the local chinese, about 10 mins walk away.

Ordered meal and were in the waiting area when the female owner came out and was making small talk with us. She noticed our little baby, asked what age he was and told us off for taking him out of the house!

She also told me off for being out of the house before 1 month was up as according to her, woman needed time to heal.

Random.

booyhoo · 06/09/2010 12:57

naughty TLC Grin

i should be there for 10, am heading straight after school run. if i am coming from the saintfield road, how do i get to connswater? not good with belfast Blush

Tee2072 · 06/09/2010 15:38

Well, gang, I may not be there Friday, as Adam may have a viral infection. Back to GP tomorrow for lung check and to give them a urine sample to find out why his temp spiked to 40 today. This is after just coming off antibiotics for an ear and upper respiratory infection, so a little concerned!!

booyhoo try Google maps. I tried for you but 3 saintfield roads came up!! maps.google.co.uk

booyhoo · 06/09/2010 16:52

oh dear tee, hope he is ok. he's getting a rough time of it. poor wee man. thanks I'll do that.

bottyburpthebarbarian · 06/09/2010 21:38

Awh Tee poor wee Adam is catching everything going - sympathies

dingdong3 · 07/09/2010 15:18

booyhoo take a right onto the outer ring at forestside, heading towards Holywood. When you get to the big crossroads with the Upper Newtownards Road (Northern Bank/Bells Tea), take a left here and keep on the Newtownards Road all the way down to Connswater. Does that make sense?

Tee2072 · 07/09/2010 18:08

Well, Adam's fever is gone, for the moment. GP said once he's fever free for 24 hours he can be seen in public, so provided this lasts, we will be there Friday!

booyhoo · 07/09/2010 18:09

yes dingdong that makes perfect sense, thank you.

that sounds promising tee, hope he stays fever free. poor wee man.

WhenKevinMetSadie · 08/09/2010 21:59

Tee hope DS stays well for Fri.

I am still hoping to make it. I will need copious amounts of coffee though! I have been shattered all this week after our very busy weekend. Wedding was fab, but still paying for my late night celebrating!

Off to bed now, hope I will see you all on Fri.

TakeLovingChances · 09/09/2010 06:50

Greetings!

I am ill :( Had a cold all week and have now pretty much lost my voice :(

If I'm feeling better tomorrow I'll come, but if I'm still sick I'll stay away.

LittleMissSnowShine · 09/09/2010 20:16

just marking my place so i don't fall off thread!!

still on antibiotics and limping around due to delights of episiotomy stitches so won't be at this meet up. i've mastered the buggy and have got nappy changes almost down (except for the odd leaky accident lol) so me and Dara are def well on track for next meet up.

hope everyone's well! loving this last wee blast of summer sunshine Grin

bottyburpthebarbarian · 09/09/2010 20:52

LMSS - take it easy, enjoy baby Dara and I am jealous.

Can't believe its tomorrow Grin

Tee2072 · 10/09/2010 07:28

Well, no fever, but enough snot to build another baby out of, so we'd better skip today rather than spread it around!

Have a fab time.

I'm very disappointed to miss it. Sad

LittleMissSnowShine · 10/09/2010 11:36

next time, Tee!

TakeLovingChances · 10/09/2010 14:19

So, who all went today?

As I said in my previous post, my throat was playing up and my voice was just a whisper. Didn't want to go to a play area and make everyone ill with my cold.

What did I miss?
