no, thought it may have been too much of a rush to make it in the morning as it is probably going to be a 2 hr drive.

Plan to set out at 10ish, which means that we will probably leave at about half past!

chatee · 16/08/2005 19:45

me, dh, dd age 5 next week and ds aged nearly 18 months who is into EVERYTHING.........and we are bringing a picnic too.......

TwinSetAndPearls · 16/08/2005 21:33

I will be there with Janh - well I hope she will because she is taking me! What time will you be collecting us?

Janh · 16/08/2005 22:26

Yep, me and DS2 (12) and twinset and her DD!

Aiming for 10.30 at yours, twinset, but am notoriously late so don't panic. I have your mobile no anyway

TwinSetAndPearls · 16/08/2005 22:35

okay see you tomorrow, just wanted to know if I had time to make our lunch in the morning!

chatee · 17/08/2005 08:08

morning all,
well looks like it's going to be a nice day-just about to make our picnic
see yoa at 12.45 at the adventure play area

Janh · 17/08/2005 08:36

It is gorgeous here - hope I don't get jammed up coming into Blackpool on the motorway, twinset! Might have to detour...might well not make 12.45 but I have lilibet's and roisin's phone numbers so should be able to track you all down

roisin · 17/08/2005 08:38

OK - see you all there later. Our picnic is made, and we're setting off soon (catching bus at 9.30 in town).

DS2 is so excited he was up at 5 am [hysterical laughter] ... so I'm not expecting much from him today in terms of reasonable behaviour! LOL

roisin · 17/08/2005 08:39

Oh I also have no phone, but it's not huge place, and I'm sure you'll be able to hear my dss's squabbling from one end of the site to the other!

lilibet · 17/08/2005 09:32

Am I last on??

oh dear, remember what I said about 10 probably being 10.30?

At least the devil incarnate slept for 14 hours last night, so hopefully he may be pleasnat today.

I'm going to be wandering looking for you Roisin.

There is a p[hotot of me n memeber profiles but it's quite a glam one - not really recognisable as that today

lilibet · 17/08/2005 11:07

just leaving!!

roisin · 17/08/2005 19:55

Great to meet you all

Sorry we had to live early - I think the boys have a different body clock to everyone else!

Ds2 was actually asleep in the bus by 3.20 (which he never does) so he was shattered. But they both got home without dying of thirst despite their protestations!

Now what about a Christmas meet-up? Sans enfants, with alcohol. I don't mind travelling and staying overnight somewhere? Or we could just gategrash the Yorkshire mob. What do you reckon?

roisin · 17/08/2005 19:55

live? I mean leave of course!

chatee · 17/08/2005 19:56

literally just back-what a fab day we have had -hope everyone else has had such a good time.....even persuaded dh to take me to the clarks outlet village in kendal-ds will look smart next week with his new shiny shoes on and i got him a really cute pair of trainers.I missed out on the shoe experience with dd as she was wearing piedro boots at this age.
Anyway lovely to meet Gdg, Joolstoo,Lillibet,Twinset and your lovely families and so nice to see JanH and Roisin again
Here's to another fantastic day next August in the Lakes somewhere
love from Chatee and family xxxx

TwinSetAndPearls · 17/08/2005 20:01

Thankyou for a lovely day everyone, dd slept all the way home and is now enthralling everyone with her tales of paddling in a big lake and huge slides.

A big thankyou to Janh for driving us.

lilibet · 17/08/2005 20:33

Oh yes, really lovely day. Very nice to put faces to names and everyone has such lovely children!

And next time I won't sit at the table next to you all on my own cos I don't know who anyone is!

JoolsToo · 18/08/2005 10:43

Hello everyone - what a lovely day we had and great to meet you all - sorry Yorkiegirl and AuntyQuated couldn't make it .

Shame we didn't have time to get down to the lake but boys and trains were calling .

Up for the Crimbo gathering (especially as it will be sans enfants!)

lilibet · 18/08/2005 18:01

Even sans your enfant Jools?

That's not very nice, poor Goobledigook!

roisin · 18/08/2005 19:50

What are our thoughts on Christmas meet-up? Is there a thread already? Does someone want to suggest a date and venue?

lilibet · 18/08/2005 20:08

There is a thread for a meal at the Trafford Centre and there is a Yorkshire thread.

You're probably a bit for over for Yorkshire aren't you? If I go to that one I was thinking of a travel lodge - youre welcome to share!

roisin · 18/08/2005 21:28

I did go to the Leeds meal last year and a Spa meet-up at Sheffield! It is a long way to travel, but from here it's a long way to anywhere! Actually it's only about 30 mins further to Leeds than Manchester.

roisin · 18/08/2005 21:29

PS Thanks for the offer of sharing Travel Lodge ... I should confess to snoring to give you chance to reconsider!

Gobbledigook · 18/08/2005 22:10

Hi all - was great to meet everyone! Felt as though I didn't get much of a chance to chat though as I was conscious of keeping my eye on the boys (who had a whale of a time!).

Up for a Christmas meet without children - might get a chance to relax then!

Janh · 18/08/2005 22:21

Helloooooo! Last one checking in - had a fab time yesterday, was lovely to see the old friends again and meet the new ones

You are v welcome, twinset, so sorry about the (ahem) detour - DH had my road atlas as well as his I discovered when I got back, so I'll blame him.

Sorry the absentees couldn't make it, maybe next time - Brockhole is an excellent venue, and we could do the boat trip next time! (Lifebelts all round for GDG's boys )

Gobbledigook · 18/08/2005 22:24

LOL JanH!! We've done that boat trip before and the boys love it!
