bumpity bump for butty and anyone else that would like to meet us in the lakes this week.................................

Janh · 13/08/2005 19:33

Oooh, thanks for the nudge, chatee, I need to email twinset about pickup arrangements. (Don't worry too much about DD, my DD1 was terribly jealous of DD2 every time she did something new - they're 3 years apart - but she got over it eventually and they are great friends now.)

Also I have no idea how long it takes to Brockhole from here via Blackpool. I will ask AA routefinder .

chatee · 14/08/2005 09:22

bump....anyone else want to join us?

roisin · 14/08/2005 09:48

I'm looking forward to this. I am now back from hols AND back online .. new computer!

But I only just got online 5 mins ago, and kids are clamouring for the pc, so will not be on here long!

bubblerock · 14/08/2005 10:00

I would have loved to come but we're too busy at the moment So have a fabulous time all of you!!

chatee · 15/08/2005 08:50

hi bubblerock shame you can't come, will be in touch soon as want to come to your b+b to see the lights....hope your all well.

butty, any thoughts about coming? would love to meet you- my dd has cp too.......

roisin · 15/08/2005 10:34

Chatee - have you been to Brockhole before? Just thought I should warn you the whole adventure playground site is woodchips and not at all flat, and probably quite hard for her to access at all. (Far worse than Grizedale for instance.)

Maybe we should re-arrange the picnic meet-up site? I'd hate for her to feel excluded. We could meet up down by the jetty instead. I think there are some picnic tables there as well.

the map is here

lilibet · 15/08/2005 12:14

Janh - do you still have the same mobile number? Then I can ring you when I get there and find out where you all are.

Janh · 15/08/2005 12:24

I do! And I have yours and roisin's and AQ's and YG's. So we can all talk each other in

Easy · 15/08/2005 12:30

I wish you'd done this for one day later. My contract ends on 17th, and I'm free after that.

Ho hum, next time maybe, hope you all have a lovely time.

bubblerock · 15/08/2005 12:57

It would be lovely to see you all again Chatee - you were the first Mumsnetter to visit us here! We had a second handrail installed on the stairs a few months ago which is great! Have fun at the lakes, I hope the sun shines

Janh · 15/08/2005 13:01

Just a minute!!! Is this Wednesday or Thursday? Aaaaaaaargh!

lilibet · 15/08/2005 13:03

I thought it ws Wednesday???

Janh · 15/08/2005 13:03

I've got my dates mixed up, haven't I....it is Wed, isn't it? Ds2 has orthodontist appt - wonder if I can change it...

Janh · 15/08/2005 13:04

I knew it was Wednesday but somehow my brain changed it to Thurs - I will beetle off and ring orthodontist right now!

lilibet · 15/08/2005 13:05

What time is your appointment Janh?

and how far away are you from Brokthingy?

Janh · 15/08/2005 13:12

3.20! And we are 2 hours away! It would be a "hi! bye!" if we came and left again, lol.

It should be OK, fortunately her secretary is usually there to do appts on Mondays, though not until 2 apparently.

I think what happened is that my brain, all on its own, changed 17th to 18th - god knows how or why, because when I first asked at work about missing that evening I asked for Wed, and changed it to Thurs later...doh!

Anyway, it's an ill wind; assuming we can change it, I might be able to talk DS1 into coming too, if he's not working (Thurs is AS-level results day so he couldn't have come then).

Awww, YG, that's a shame

Glad you are safely home anyway and I hope the rest of your hol was OK. DD1 gets home this week, maybe we can meet up before you go back to school?

Janh · 15/08/2005 14:15

OK, have managed to change appt though have to wait 4 weeks now; for some reason this always happens to us with long-term appts, something comes up on the very day but not on any other days around it!

roisin · 15/08/2005 15:38

YG - I'm really sorry you can't make it, but I think you're absolutely right to try and get as much rest as possible.

Janh - I'm delighted you've managed to change the appointment. I've managed to lose my phone charger , so may not have my phone with me. But you know what I look like, and my boys are quite loud, so I'm sure we'll manage to meet up whatever!

TwinSetAndPearls · 15/08/2005 16:39

I am still coming, was going to drop out as I feel like hibernating at the moment, but I will be brave and face you all!

TwinSetAndPearls · 15/08/2005 17:12

Have just returned your email, Janh

chatee · 15/08/2005 19:50

thanks for that info roisin-have just had a good look and i think we will be ok with the play area, dd can manage a few steps on bark so it should be ok- my worst fear would be the idea of ds and a jetty to be honest
i'm sure my ds's screams can match both of your boys together.................sorry hope i'm not putting anyone off meeting us..............
trying to persuade dh to do a detour through kendal to have a peek in the outlet village....uhhhmmm needs more persuasion.....aaaaggghhh.

AuntyQuated · 16/08/2005 12:27

I'm really sorry but i can't come tomorrow

car has been poorly; spent loads yesterday on 'air mass meter' and now you would think it had kangaroo petrol in it. the garage can't fit it in today so it has to go tomorrow

i was really looking forward to meeting everyone and have Roisin's cards ready (I'll post them). I will think of you all and keep my fingers crossed for sunny weather.

Have a good day.
