Have you made a very good friend in RL out of MN

Was reading another thread and it made me wonder if any of you had made a (or many) friend(s) on MN - so you had never met them before - and went on to become real life friends above and beyond MN. (presumably started by contacting the on CAT of MN).
Do you think you'll stay friends even when one of you "leaves" MN?

Rickman is a very good friend to me. We just clicked, i think she is a wonderful amazing woman xx

WideWebWitch · 17/05/2005 12:58

Yes, me too, absolutely, I've met some fab people here and talk to them on the phone, by email, in person. Some are more email than anything but I still consider them good, proper friends.

Yes and yes. Whether it's mostly e-mail contact because of locations or meeting up on a regular basis, I've made quite a few good friends from this site. As bk says, it has really enhanced my life.

Enid · 17/05/2005 13:29

yes. by email only (and msn in a few addictive cases but still consider them friends.

Enid · 17/05/2005 13:30

and would meet up with them all like a shot

gingerbear · 17/05/2005 13:42

I have met friends through meet-ups. Would like to see them more often.

gingerbear · 17/05/2005 13:44

I tend to go through phases of emailing people lots, then not being in touch for a while.

Prufrock · 18/05/2005 21:18

Yes. I've met lovely people through Mumsnet and know that if the site closed tomorrow I'd keep in touch with a number of them. Mumsnet friendships are a bit wierd though - you can meet someone for the first time and already know stuff about each other that your best RL friends are not party to!

JoolsToo · 18/05/2005 21:22

neid would you liek to meet me? ?

gobbledigook is lovely.

Anteater is the ony other mner hace met but he wa s really charming adn his wif etoo! he has a really beautiful home in the country. A real gentleman.

galaxy · 18/05/2005 21:25

Met some great people and became good friends with one in particular but I'm not good at keeping in touch and wasn't there for her when she needed someone.

Probably why I don't have many close friends in real life either.

dinny · 18/05/2005 21:32
