Nemo, how are you feeling? Is it sinking in yet? .

I'm going for a presentation scan this afternoon to see if baby is breach or not... wish me luck!.

Jammy, thanks for the e-mail and for thinking of us, very kind of you.. I'll reply when I've woken up properly .

MD, are you still away? If you're not I hope you had a lovely holiday .

Biggogglyeyes · 17/10/2008 12:45

GOOD LUCK!!!!! Browny xx

WhateverHappenedtoBabyJaamy · 17/10/2008 14:23

Good luck Browny. I hope little 'un is behaving herself! x

browny · 17/10/2008 22:12

Hi, well baby is breach, her head is on the right side of my bump with her legs curled around so that her feet are opposite her head. I'm booked in for a ecv on Tuesday afternoon, it all sounds really scary , even told me to be prepared for an emergency c/s in case "somethng goes wrong", so I'm panicing and really worried. The midwife said that they won't turn a baby if you've had a c/s in the past, but the turned Biglips baby, so I don't understand why she said that.

I'll be trying some suggestions on the baby spinning website, so I really hope she turns. Wish me luck .

WhateverHappenedtoBabyJaamy · 17/10/2008 22:46

Browny - you know we're all sending you our love and best of luck that DD3 turns. Just means she's going to be another independent browny lady! Have you had a CS in the past?

Thank you to everyone for DD2's birthday wishes and presents... She had a fab time as I hope all of your DCs did. DD1 has put in an order for the same party in Jan...not sure I can re-live the Castle building game, though!

We have half term the week after next. It seems Liverpool has taken half term a week before the rest of the country, even us in Knowsley are a week behind. Not good for meet ups if they are going to stagger all half terms...though good if you want to go away.

BL - thank you for the card. x

MyDingaling · 18/10/2008 09:09

Nemo - have I missed an announcement?!!
Congratulations! More details needed - due date etc

Jaamy sounds like DD2 party was a huge success, glad she had a lovely day.

Browny - hope all goes well on tues, will be thinking of you. Will text you about dropping baby stuff off.

Back from Butlins - we had a fab time, DD1 said it was the best holiday ever.

Biggogglyeyes · 18/10/2008 11:47

Yes Browny had an emergency section with her first baby and then had natural birth with the rest. Browny - my midwife said exactly the same that i wont able to have a ecv cos of my previous section and also she said that i wont be able to have an induction either cos i had a previous section BUT my consultant said that i can have a ecv as it had done before alot of times and yes it could turn into an emergency whenever you had a section or not cos of the placenta rupture or baby distressed. Mine was successful but only a few would not be successful but at least i did summat. (dont forget to take your hossy bag on the day for the ecv as just incase), and also the consultant said that i could have an induction too.

Also my midwife said that theres 50/50 that i couldnt have a natural birth cos of a BIG baby as well...kiah was 2.5oz bigger than dd1 when i was predicted that i was having a 10lber!.....but my consultant said that i was having a normal size baby meaning i was having another 9lber.

Who is ya consultant? and also lulumama on here was brilliant as she gave me loads of advices.

Biggogglyeyes · 18/10/2008 11:48

and take a paracetamol before you go in for the ecv....GOOD LUCK!

Biggogglyeyes · 18/10/2008 11:50

if all failed then you will be booked in for a elective section. How many weeks will you be on Tues? as its more success at 39 weeks so the baby wont turn back to breech.

browny · 18/10/2008 14:38

Biglips, thank you for all the advice, my consultant's name is Alfirevic Zarko, I haven't even met him yet and I'll be 37 weeks this Monday. Did they insert a canula into the back of your hand just in case it turned into an emergency? Did you have a muscle relaxant injection?

WhateverHappenedtoBabyJaamy · 18/10/2008 23:02

Hi Browny
How're you doing? Spent most of today sitting on your head? Hope you are getting lots of support and spoiling from DH. The staff at the hospital will have done hundreds of these ecvs. They are just warning you what could happen. Worst case scenario, you will be cuddling your lovely little bundle in a few days.

MD - so glad you had a lovely break.

andyrobo237 · 19/10/2008 12:40

BL - I have got together a small bundle of clothes for your big girl, so will post them to you tomorrow - there is no hope of me getting them to you soon, and as DS has a horrific cold, I dont want to inflict his germs on your newborn! Will only be a couple of ££ to post, so call it a pressie! x

Hope all are well - I was VIP'ing it last Wednesday - official opening of the Lord Street shceme I have been working on for several yesrs (not by myself, s team effort you know!!) and the star guest was Ken Dodd - Knotty Ash/s finest!!!! He as amusing, even if he called me and my other female colleague the lap Dancers - as if!!! It was not so grand as it sounds as there were 80 other dignitaries there, and several hundred Doddy fans!! Piccies can be seen here me in my black coat

Hlaf term lads here on 24th October - different again to others!

BTW - Contrats to Nemo - had to go searching after got the inkling here of another Buba!! Wow - may there be many more soon!

Gotta run, DS who was sleeping in porch (in pram!!) is now awake and hungry!!!

Better go - sleeping boy in porch is now awake and dont we know it!!

browny · 22/10/2008 10:45

Morning, thank you for your messages yesterday .

My consultant said that baby's bum is quite low in my pelvis and while he was palpating my tummy (without telling me), he tried to lift the baby up... that was painful and made me feel really ill. . He said my stomach muscles were very hard (even asked if I did exercises , as if!), he said usually with baby number 5, he'd just press down at the bottom of my bump and baby would pop up higher, letting him turn baby easily, but she was settled down there.

I told him that I didn't want the ecv, but he'd already invited two students into watch him "perform a successful ecv". I had to be quite firm and tell him I wanted to ask him quite a lot of questions before I agreed to it next week. He seemed quite disappointed that he was not going to impress the students, although he was very nice.

He said there's a 50% chance of baby turning before next Monday when I am booked in for the ecv. I'm not looking forward to the muscle relaxant injection or another dose of Anti-D . Something else he said worried me, he said sometimes he can be sweating trying to turn a baby, all with no pain relief for the mum . I wonder if I could ask for gas and air while he does it, think I'll need it. Positive turning vibes my way please .

MyDaggerling · 22/10/2008 21:43

Browny, hope the baby moves before Monday. I am very of your stomach muscles!

Right girls, I am after a lot of sympathy!

I slipped today and went over on my ankle which resulted in a 5 hour stint in casualty.

I have torn the ligaments in my ankle and I am now on crutches

DH cant have any time off work, so I am feeling really sorry for myself and worrying about how am I going to manage to look after DDs while on crutches.

browny · 22/10/2008 21:58

MD, - 5 hours in casualty , I've heard that torn ligaments are really painful and takes ages to heal, you definately need some help from somewhere! How are you going to manage taking dd1 to nursery now, will you still be able to drive... suppose not?. Poor, poor you, hope the ankles not too painful and dh's manages to look after you this weekend. xx.

MyDaggerling · 22/10/2008 22:08

Cant drive but luckily DH can take DD1 in the morning and one of my friends has offered to bring her back.

What's really annoying is that I did the same thing about 4 years ago! And it is really painful, cant put any weight on it at all.

Before going to bed tonight, Dh will gather everything I may need for tomorrow and put it in living room for me! What a week for my parents to be away!

Biggogglyeyes · 22/10/2008 23:45

ahhh no MD - i hope there will be someone to help you. How did you managed to slip??? on a wet towel??

Browny - i dont understand about why would the consultant "be sweating trying to turn a baby"!!!!!!!!, demand for a relaxation jab at once!!!.....
fingers cross for you to hope the baby will move. x x x x x

well managed to get the breakdown service to tow our car from Bhead which it was meaning driving thru the Wallasey tunnel (new tunnel) but we had to pay for the tunnel fee!!! !!......
anyway its in the garage and the immobiliser had gone....again!! as the garage thought he had fixed the prob last Friday and only drove it for one night when it decided to clap out again! The garage gotta take the computer out of the car and send it to somewhere to verify the problem - that will be the last resort.

im off to bed...nite nite to you all!
