SW London - book swap and meet up?

Don't know if anyone would be interested in this.

I have a load of books that I need to get rid of (mainly low brow fiction!). Normally I take them to the charity shop.

It occured to me that there might be lots of other MNetters who do the same. Why don't we meet up and do a big swap? Any books left over could go to the charity shop as usual.

Absolutely fine! As long as you're OK with at that stage - I'd had both of my DC by then!

I think the best thing to do is to be responsible for our own. But if you go into labour on the evening, I'll take yours!

I am in wimbledon but never met anyone before.

I've only met Jura and CtheA (who are both lovely, but don't tell them I said that) - so don't worry about it!

So anywhere you would like to go? I was thinking somewhere either close to the mainline station (although restaurant choices are pretty limited there) or somewhere close to South Wimbledon - again, pretty limited!

Have you been to THe Hideaway? It's by the tram stop at Merton Park. An independent restaurant, which is unusual in Wimbledon, and a nice environment. It's very close to my house, so we could always do the book swap bit here (and I'll provide drinks) and then go on to dinner?

I've been there before. Easy for me to walk.

Yes - on the Kingston Road, left hand side as you're walking towards South Wimbledon tube. It's probably about 250m from the tram station, and two stops on the tram from Wimbledon.

should i make a list of books i'm bringing so no one brings the same book twice? or is that just wasting space?
