Morning all - this thread has disappeared from threads I'm on so thought I should pop in and say hello!

Having yet another trauma with DS and school. It's claimed that he bit someone on the face on Friday - he has never ever bitten anyone even as a baby or toddler and the child who claims he did is the one who has been pinching his stuff, pushing him etc. We are just so stuck about what to do next. DH just wants to try to get him into another local primary but that would mean that we are tied to this area which I don't really want. It's obvious that his school isn't right for him and that it's too small for him to make a group of friends

Parents eve on Tuesday so we'll see then. DH went in to see the head after the incident on Friday but she's not much bloody use

Mme C, DH insisting no to the other option despite me adamant that we can (just!).

itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 10:30

How about a Thurs pm? GingerMonkey might be able to make it then? Leap Frogs would be fine with me.

fatzak · 16/03/2008 15:15

I'm working this Thursday, then away in Holland the Thursday after, but will try to meet up eventually

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 15:51

Fatzak - We've just drove through Flockton and I said to Dh its a shame i don't know where fatzak lives we could dollect the slide lol (it is Flockton u live int it?)

We went to The Zone (new soft play) in Hudds. It's not really for my non climbing child but for older ones or little climbers its fantastic. Play structure over about 4 floors. The only downside is with it been a Sunday it was absolutely packed and its part of The Galpharm Stadium and Huddersfield are playing at home today.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.

Knickers - I've put the pushchair on Ebay, sorry but i really need it out of the way asap and was getting no joy on here.

We were there yesterday Phoenix, it's great for DS1 but as you say very very busy. Makes me a nervous wreck about what he is getting up to in that slide area

You will have driven past our house Phoenix as we are just off the main road. You will have also driven past Cheeky Monkeys in Huddersfield - when you veered right at the lights onto the main Hudds road after the gym and the soccer centre, it's on your right above a strange furniture shop called - oh, it used to be called the deal house but don't know now!!

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 16:24

I noticed we were in Waterloo and was looking out for Cheeky Monkeys but i didn't see it .

BabyBufters told me about it the other day so thought we'd give it a go while we had nothing to do. Ds loved it but couldn't do much cos he just can't climb. Both me and dh took him round a few times and went down the wave slide

Hi all - I have a question about CM in Hudds. Has it got cars like the one in Wakey? I'm wondering if DS would have enough to do there.

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 17:49

If they've got a kitchen he'll be fine itsa

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 17:58

yes, and toilets!

MmeCellophane · 16/03/2008 18:04

If it has got cars, then only 1 or 2 I think.... sit on rather than sit in...and not a lot of space for driving. TBH, it's better for climbers I think.

itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:05

ok thanks. Just thinking about where DH can take him tomorrow. Maybe one in Wakey is better for them. Silly sods can run around then!

MmeCellophane · 16/03/2008 18:06

The Zone has a good area for under 3s I thought but my 3 yo kept getting "stuck" (read pathetic) in the bigger part - even though he was capable.

I would hate to go when busy - in fact I certainly wouldn't let DS2 in there on his own. However.. I had LOADS of fun playing with the shooters with them, so we may go as a family sometime, knowing that I will NOT be sitting down for a cuppa!

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:11

Yeah ds liked the ball blower thing in the under 3 bit . He wouldn't even go through them roller things to get to the slide in that part. There were too many older kids to let him in the big bit on his own.

Its my day off tomorrow so i might take ds to a soft play place myself. Don't know which or where though yet. Have schools finished though now? If they have i might re think my plans

MmeCellophane · 16/03/2008 18:13

Kirklees don't finish till Thurs - so Hudds is a safe option this week!

Do you know about the farm near Shelley in Huddersfield, where you can go and watch cows being milked?

It has a cafe/ice cream parlour too (albeit a bit old-fashioned). Personally, I find it all a bit whiffy, but I do try to take the DSs once in a while for educational purposes!

itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:37

aha! The Zone sounds good - even better if local schools are still on. Does it have parking?

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:38

Just looked and Barnsley and hudds finish Thursday. Wakey finished Friday if i've looked right so Cheeky Monkeys Wakey will be packed.

OP posts:
Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:39

Yeah Itsa massive car park cos its a sports centre too

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:40

thanks Phoenix. Is the Zone easy to find? I've never been to Hudds.

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:40

The Zone

OP posts:
Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:41

We had Sat Nav so it was dead easy to find. Not sure if we'd have found it without it cos we're not very bright lol

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:44

it looks brill! is there free parking? Jon wants to go big time!

itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:44

we're not posh enough to have sat nav but we have a map - how quaint and old fashioned we are!!

Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:45

Yeah think so. We didn't pay anyway . There were no signs or owt.

OP posts:
Phoenix · 16/03/2008 18:46

Do one of them route tracker things online.

OP posts:
itsahardknocklife · 16/03/2008 18:46

Does anyone else want to come to The Zone then tomorrow? We should be there for half ten.
