hello chapettes

hope you're all diddling well

welcome back, ros

lovely to see you on sun kew and paddle - the dcs looked very cute on the train. i always itch for it to go faster, tho..
we missed you, foxie!

hope you get that fat boy takeaway tonight, paddle

well, have been to australia three times with first just ds1 then ds1 and ds2 in tow. never as much as a 'mare as you anticipate, ime.

mind you, we're thinking of a trip next year to see the in-laws and friends (we've got more friends now who've gone back to oz/new zealand and south africa than we've got left here!)

so might be a different story with 3 of the little buggers and dd at that lairy made 2-3 stage(mind you the boys are older and more "sensible" now)
anyhows, takes my mind off my fear of flying.
sort of......

stepfordwife · 17/09/2007 18:45

....you were issed (that fecking letter ain't working again..) on sun too, sushi...

Paddlechick666 · 17/09/2007 19:00

evening all, not getting the fat boys but am having steak and salad.

dd has had every book out reading with H and I have been told "watch pooter mummy" with a hefty shove!

i can't be too upset tho, dd is utterly delighted to have him here.

here's hoping he maintains contact eh.....

ps: very spookily when he arrived dd ran to the door yelling Daddy. i had not mentioned a single snippet that he might come.

foxcub · 17/09/2007 19:13

Paddle - perhaps she could could smell the guilt oozing from him

Rose - glad you had nice hols, welcome back

Sorry I missed the train on Sunday Steppy - the thought of getting 3 kids and double buggy onto that train, between feeds and church, was more daunting than taking them all abroad

Anyone see the Sunday People yesterday - Mossy from MN was interviewed objecting to the fact that Facenook has banned pics of Mums nursing their babies (they haven't banned porn though). Lovely pic og her and her DS who is the same age as my DS2 What a woman!!

Had a very busy day today - coffee with a neighbour I'm just getting to know (had a fun gossip with her), whizzing to shops in Ealing, whizzing back to collect Ds1 and take him to hospital for hearing tests, then whizzing back to collect DD from her first ever playdate.

We got trapped in the Hossie car park 'cos we'd spent all the parking money on treats in the shop and had no money left to pay for the parking .The security guy let us leave for free (hee hee)

sfxmum · 17/09/2007 21:26

not sure The People is the right place for it keep thinking of that perv writing to the woman who did an article about breastfeeding in public.

still poo anyway

public soft porn fine, mothers feeding their babies bad - LOVELY!

Yingers74 · 17/09/2007 22:02

I will never understand how anybody can be offended by breast feeding especially considering what some of our celebrities wear or not wear these days!

Kew - I used to play the daily draw all the time when I was, ahem, working, and I never won a penny! Well done to the person who won though, good for him/her!

sfxmum · 18/09/2007 09:25

morning all

it was nippy this morning so autumnal low light and leaves turning, marvellous

have to pop to dentist at 11 then plan on lunch at Kew, anyone around?

seems to be the only day with not threat of rain. will leave the pool for tomorrow

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 09:32

Yingers - across all our games and questionnaire sites we pay out around £8,000 a month in prizes and cash and insurance (against a really big winner). The woman who won a million has also won a few smaller prizes. Do some people have a money gene?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/09/2007 09:38

that is one gene I am missing and I hardly ever gamble I think I do the lottery a couple of times a year if that

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 09:54

not a big gambler here either - but as she didn't have to put any money in it's hardly gambling!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/09/2007 10:24

really? I clearly know nothing of such things how very 20th century of me

SushiMummy · 18/09/2007 11:37

Hi all!

Loads to do before holiday and haven't even started packing![panic emoticon] Any survival tips for flying with a toddler? Well, we have done long haul flights to Japan when DS was 3mo and 12mo which were not too hurrendous. He is turning the terrible two and everything has become impossible these days...

Paddlechick666 · 18/09/2007 12:24

has anyone else just had a text from 2cute?

Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 12:30

no but she probably has my old phone number so has probably sent it there (assuming she sent one)

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 18/09/2007 12:32

the sucking something as you take off and land still apllies to toddlers I think so get him something to such on. Otherwise it's a pretty short flight isn;t it - by the time he's investigated the food tray you may well be landning again.

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 18/09/2007 13:12

lol at the food tray! that's the sort of things DS would love to be investigating! Think I'd get some stickers for him to play on the plane, too. Thanks!

DS threw a big tantrum at Kew Retail Park yesterday and managed to undo the seat belt of the buggy and threw himself onto the floor.

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 13:34

Sushi, we borrowed a friend's portable dvd player, once ds woke up and started getting bored this kept him quiet for another 20 mins!

Where are you off to?

SushiMummy · 18/09/2007 13:58

Ros, we are off to freezing Inverness tomorrow. We do have a portable DVD player but that's really for a car journey (screen strapped on the back of the front seat). Well, if DS gets too handful, there's always my mum. BTW, smacking children is very accepted in Japan so I had to tell mum to be careful (not that she'd smack him but just be on the safe side, iyswim).

sfxmum · 18/09/2007 16:47

hi all

kew was lovely today but as we were leaving dd threw the biggest longer lasting tantrum ever, she is a pretty easy child so I was quite surprised. somehow I ended up drenched in smoothies from my hair to my trousers
was the very model of calm

sushi have a lovely time, no tips sorry

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 17:46

Sfx, didn't you try the method of getting on the floor and rolling around screaming as well? Someone suggested that on a thread as a way to stop tantrums!

Paddlechick666 · 18/09/2007 19:57

no one else heard from 2cute?

Paddlechick666 · 18/09/2007 19:57

ps: welcome back Ros!

sfxmum · 18/09/2007 20:09

ros LOL think that only works in adverts. I think she must be going through a growth spurt, she slept 12hrs straight last night and seemed to be in need of a nap all day.

paddle no not heard from 2cute, you sound worried should I try to text/ email?

off to get dd to bed dh has taken over since he got home was assistant in chief during dinner, did bath and is reading a bedtime story so I am up next

rosmerta · 18/09/2007 20:33

I'm not so sure SFX, I tried it today when ds was having a strop and it worked a treat, he just started laughing and was ok then. Having said that, we were in the living room, not the middle of Kew!

Hi PC! Does 2cute sound ok?
