PC - my mum could probably go to woolies in Sheen, do they have cheap hats there?. I have a sword - was just planning on adding a hat, a stripey jersey and black trousers

Sorry SJ I meant my ds is still asleep. (I have actually dragged him out of bed now), he went to bed at 7.30pm but didn't settle due to jetlag until 3.30am and then slept through despite me attempting to get him up severl times this morning and early afternoon, but he just didn't want to get up.

SJ99 · 04/09/2007 15:12

Ooops! I guess we both have sleepy DS's COV Hope he doesn't take too long to recover from the jetlag, what a bummer he couldn't sleep til 3.30am, hope you all have a better night tonight

Don't think we're going to make it to Syon today either...

2Cute · 04/09/2007 16:07

CoV - It takes them a while to settle back to our time zone sometimes. My DS usually adjusts pretty quick when we return from the states but this time round he would be hungry come 2am and couldn't sleep til 3/4am for over a week! I totally sympathise.

Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 16:14

Coming back from Kaz (7hrs) I put DS to bed on kaz time the first night then moved it back an hour a day until he adjusted and started puttin ghim down for a very early nap at 9am for an hour and a later nap as well - obviously not always a luxury you have, but I was off on maternity leave so I could.

He was supposed to be starting nursery today, but I called them before we went away to say he woldn't come this week. DD was very upset not to go to school today, but she slept late too and wouldn't have coped if she had gone. So are we having a leaving do for Nanou or not?

foxcub · 04/09/2007 16:35

Kew are you dressing up as a pirate then?

foxcub · 04/09/2007 16:36

CoV I called Nanou this morning and told her I'd phone her for a chat at lunchtime. I completely forgot!! Thanks for reminding me - I will call her later when she's finished work!!

Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 20:02

Company awayday on Friday (hence not here for Nanous do) in IOW - I'm taking DS and the theme is pirates. I have bought him a shiny plastic cutlass which he is very taken with but really need a hat or bandanna of some sort (lord only knows what I'm going to wear)

OP posts:
foxcub · 04/09/2007 20:47

kew - its great that you can take him - how did you wangle that?

I have a hat you can borrow - have a hook and a red bandana too BTW

the trousers won't fit you or him as they are age 5

foxcub · 04/09/2007 20:48

used to have eye patch but not sure where it is now

foxcub · 04/09/2007 20:49

have you got a white frilly shirt?

Yingers74 · 04/09/2007 21:30

hello all,

have not posted for a while as firstly away in newbury and then when I got home on Thursday just seem to be run off my feet! Not even sure why! dd1 is going to school tomorrow, her first day and I feel slightly nervous, she seems fine though! Is anyone else feeling the same! I have no clue what she should be taking or anything - pretty pants really on my part!

Foxie - I spent over 400 pounds on her school uniform!!!!!!! Still feeling it!

Kewcumber · 04/09/2007 22:17

hat hook and bandanna would be fab if you can find them foxie.

I sort just invited him myself! Either we both come or neither come! Having said that I am taking my mum so will be going with DS in the morning, bringing him back to the house for a nap at about 1'ish then going back and my mum will look after him for a couple of hours when he wakes up as I will be home by about 6pm.

I could have gone for the day and left my mum with him 7am-8pm but
a) its a long day for her and she does enough as it is - this way I will pay (effectively) for her to have a weekend away in exchange for a few hours baby sitting.
b) I only see him for a couple of hours a day at most MOn-Thursday, relaly don;t want to give up all day Friday with him

I think even our (on the whole) very single childless company can cope with a few hours of DS! It's mostly outside in a tea garden so perfect for him to run around.

oh and btw - my mum's scan came back clear , they think the suspicious patches on her bladder are a combined result of her diabetes and the radiotherapy scars. They will keep a close eye on them but in the meantime, at least another 6 months cancer free

Right gals,
I have not been posting for a while, been away for holidays. I hope you are all well. Can anybody recommend somewhere nice and exciting to take a two and a bit year old boy in East Sheen or Barnes area in the afternoons? Any toddler groups? Anything?
Pretty Please?

SushiMummy · 05/09/2007 08:11

Morning all!

Fantastic news, QC!! You must be very relieved! Could lend you a nice Hawaiian shirt should a Hawaiian themed party comes up.

Tube strike is off! Yay!

Starry, no help from me, sorry.

sfxmum · 05/09/2007 09:10

good morning all

QC fantastic news, I am so pleased

hi to those back from hols

nest wishes to those starting school

yingers can't help with activities in that specific are but maybe ,MNlocal can help also netmums. most places have the same sort of clubs and most are offering free taster sessions so I guess you could do a few and see what suits.

depending on how I feel today we might do pool or kew.
I really should book a wax, it's a pain to shave

sfxmum · 05/09/2007 09:11

foxie is your meeting tomorrow?

Yingers74 · 05/09/2007 09:35

Just got back from dropping her off on her first day at school and feel quite sick, I thought I would be happy just to have only one at home but am surprisingly not! It was very chaotic as nobody seemed to know what was going on and for a second there I actually thought about grabbing dd1 and getting the hell out of there and never returning! But then sense took over! She on the other hand seemed good about the whole thing and when I said 'good bye', she replied 'yeah see ya later mum', no tears, no clinging on! sigh!

foxcub · 05/09/2007 11:01

yingers i cried when ds1 started school - dd starts next week and looks so cute in her uniform

excuse 1 handed type baby on lap

kew that's great news about your mum, you must be so relieved!!

sfx my meeting is late morning on monday....i am trying to arrange for a friend to watch dd and ds2 - i might be fishing around on here begging for an hour's childcare if my friend cannot do it

the plan is to drive to ealing, she takes kids to park for about 30 minutes, then i treat us to lunch in lebanese restaurant.

if she cannot do it, would anyone on here be willing to help out?

pretty please...

Paddlechick666 · 05/09/2007 11:23

qc, great news about your mum. pass on my best won't you?

kew, would love to help out on monday but am working. can i come for the lunch tho

is anyone else freezing?

well, i am well and truly back into work/general life mode. Ma is coming down tonight for her usual 2 days which means I am back to sleeping in dd's room for 2 nights.

i really don't like sleeping in her room. apart from the bed not being comfy i wake her, she wakes me etc etc.

not much to be done until next month tho....

Paddlechick666 · 05/09/2007 11:24
