littlelapin
carmenere has and is! She is just waiting for them to come back to her

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 10:54

No, I agree - pay all now.

eleusis · 01/08/2007 10:54

Littleapin, so post to and from Carmenere about BBar. She is doing just that, and I have proposed a vote in two day, which is plenty of time for everyone to get £20 paypaled by end of August.

Custy, What happens if more people want to come in Sept., Oct. Nov.? Can they be added to the list?

Carmenere · 01/08/2007 11:06

Er hang on, tbh I think bbar, although lovely is too expensive. They need a minimum spend of 2.5k and that is 50 quid a head if there are only 50 and then there is service on top of that.
I am up to my eyes with work today and can't afford the time to call them to see if they will be flexible but I've forwarded the email to Elusis so if you want to call Maurice please do.

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:21

oh oh... must check e-mail. Sorry. I thought that was the sit down meal option and we were going to look at the buffet possibility which was £20 per head.

Or what about no dinner at all and we each give up say £30 or so for drinks.

MerlinsBeard · 01/08/2007 11:36

seeing as a deposit has to be in by end of August i am a definate no. Sorry guys.

Especially seeing as its looking like costing MORE if its at the BBar place.

Can those who don't agree with the Hiltom bear in mind that not everyone coming is local and will have transport and stop overs to pay for as well and not every one is rich.

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 11:38

MoM - I will put down a deposit for you if needs be.

MerlinsBeard · 01/08/2007 11:39

its the rest Flame but ty I can always sneak in thru a window after the meal can't i?!

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 11:43

You get yourself there and we can sort out everything else

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:46

Have e-mailed them to enquire about a non-Christmas menu and said buffet style would be. Will let you all know when I get a response.

CountessDracula · 01/08/2007 11:46

We could always have 2
one on 17th somewhere nice
and one on 1st dec at the hilton

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:48

And, yes, getting the cost down is of course one of the aims. Will do my best.

I also wonder if we could just hire a hall and a bartender and party the night away forgetting dinner. But, I'll probably be shot for suggesting it.

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:48

you are norty CD.

CountessDracula · 01/08/2007 11:50

it was a joke

Beetroot · 01/08/2007 11:52

Is there not a pub we coudl all go to? for drinks?

meet up for meals if people fancy in smaller groups?

zippit · 01/08/2007 11:53

well i'll come if i'm not too old, though would be from the provinces too so would have to find somewhere to stay ( not necessarily a problem if i carry on collecting offers lol)

eleusis · 01/08/2007 11:56

Good idea, Beetroot. That would keep the cost down for those who don't want to spend a lot. And people who want poncy food and are prepared to pay for it can doo that.

I personally also like the idea of food on your own before hand because you get to know a smaller group of people and then at least you know some of the people at the party before youget there.

FlameParakeet · 01/08/2007 12:03

I thought there were lots of issues with the small groups for food last time?

eleusis · 01/08/2007 12:07

There was one group that got into a big fight. It was played out on mumsnet. I don't know much about it. The group I went to dinner with was lovely and I had a fab time.

CountessDracula · 01/08/2007 12:08

yes me too
it was excellent

JeremyVile · 01/08/2007 12:13

So we'd all just have to avoid the scrappy lot..........

Beetroot · 01/08/2007 12:13

so now we need to find a good pub that can take 50 people from around 8/9pm then it can be throwm into the pot.

I am happy to have a smaller dinner before hand - meet a few people and catch up with old ones

Carmenere · 01/08/2007 12:15

I was with the scrappers and we had a lovely time in general and anyone who says different is wrong so they can just feck right off grrrr

SecretPizza · 01/08/2007 12:18

Dont blame me. It is not my fault that some people cannot handle their drinks
