Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

but foxie..i've seen the lodger's shoes for myself..and they weren't on his feet - they were on your hallway floor!
hang on...waddya mean he's got more than one pair of shoes?

foxcub · 07/08/2007 23:20

yes a black pair and a white pair!!

I think DH wants to attach a tracking device to them

stepfordwife · 07/08/2007 23:23

white shoes
or do you mean trainers??
aren't white shoes a bit, well, spivvy?
fawning apologies to anyone whose dh/dp favours white footwear

sfxmum · 08/08/2007 08:44

good morning all

is anyone up to a meet up at kew later on?

i have dentist at 11.20 then will head out there.

Paddlechick666 · 08/08/2007 09:31

sfx, would love to meet up but am WFH today.

CM called in sick but has back-up CM who dd knows quite well (apparently) but was still traumatic dropping her off as she was quite upset when i left.

feel really bad now. poor little girl has had so much change recently with house guests coming and going and going to grandma's 2 weeks running.

friend will be here for a while i think, he's job hunting at the mo but doubt he'll move till he's got a job.

it's lovely to have him here but am finding it quite full on too. it's years since i've done any sort of house sharing (not even with DHH pmsl!) and i'm finding it a bit wearing having someone around constantly.

i feel very ungrateful for saying that tho as one of his reasons for being here is to be supportive to me.

i just need the house to myself and dd occasionally!!!!

rosmerta · 08/08/2007 10:20

Hi all, having a v trying week so far as ds seems to have entered full on tantrum mode, he's especially not impressed that we have to wait around for Virgin to turn up to install our phone line.

Sorry am a bit today, irrationally so it seems!

foxcub · 08/08/2007 10:59

Paddle - can you give him a hint - like say "hey, why don't you explore London?" or "Richmond ruiverside is very pleasant this time of year!"

You poor thing - I find it hard having someone around too. When my step daughter stayed a few years back I had to tell her "when I get home from work I need to chill, not chat". Perhaps you could gently say to him you need some chill time?

Steppy PMSL about the shoes. Yes, they are trainers. The black ones are ultra funky and I'm quite that I'm too old to wear such trainers myself!

I am around this arvo BTW but not sure yet whether to go out and play or finish some chores (like sending my passport application off)

mellow2 · 08/08/2007 11:23

Morning ladies.

I desperately want to go out but I've got to finish some work on my site and some chores.

Sfx,
What day of the week is Boogie tots on? Now dd has started walking I think we'll start going to Boogie tots. I think she'll enjoy it. Atm, she's dancing in the living room to the Teletubbies music.

Sushi,
My new face and body care products are in. Would you be interested in coming round to try out the testers and take some samples home? I could come round to yours but there's an awful lot to carry.

Would anyone else be interested? We could have a Pimms party (Honest, I'm not an alchie ).

Foxie,
The new bags are here. I'll let you know when new fabrics arrive.

mellow2 · 08/08/2007 11:35

Has anyone read the lady garden etiquette thread?

rofl.

SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 11:36

Mellow, Oh goodie! My eczema is back so excellent timing! I think I'm free this weekend.

SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 11:37

And I'd love to come round to your place![nosey emoticon]

mellow2 · 08/08/2007 11:56

Sushi,
What about Saturday? What time would suit you?

Kewcumber · 08/08/2007 12:01

I may be around Saturday - Love the reusable lilac bag. I'm a sucker for bags. My feet are too big to have a useful shoe fetish so I have bag displacement instead. But am skint so £8 per bag sounds about my level!

SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 12:02

Mellow, what about 11-ish? Or after DS's nap, 3-4pm? I'm easy.

Kewcumber · 08/08/2007 12:02

will your DD cope better with DS in her own environment?

Kewcumber · 08/08/2007 12:03

sounds like sushi's DS naps a similar time to mine though I think mine sleeps for longer. 11am for an hour or 4pm for an hour would suit me well.

SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 12:07

DS sleeps for England/Japan according to his nursery nurse. Minimum 2, often 3 hours. Well, he doens't go to sleep till 8.30pm earliest...

2Cute · 08/08/2007 12:33

How much poo talk??

Wish I could say my DS was a good sleeper. He fell asleep at 11pm last nite!

QC - 10:30 is a bit too early. How does 12pm sound to you and Puds?

Need to get some cleaning done today, wish me luck convincing DS that this is much more fun than playing in the garden.

rosmerta · 08/08/2007 12:35

Am in a better mood now, ds off for his nap & telephone line installed so can relax for a couple of hrs!

2cute - 12 is a bit late tbh as that's ds's lunch & nap time.

ComeOVeneer · 08/08/2007 12:44

HI all. Am stuck at home for the day, waiting for John Lewis to deliver my new fridge (sometime between 7am and 6pm apparently ), still it is lovely out so have the children splashing around in the pool outside whilst I have the laptop up and running again. Plus this weather has enabled me to catch up on the laundry and stops the children messing up the house.

What is the story re Nanou's leaving do? I can't seem to find a thread about it any more. Has a date/venue been decided or has it been scrapped?

Think I won't see any of you until mid/late September now as we are of on hols. a week tomorrow, then when we return dd is straight back to school and ds is started nursery 3 mornings a week. What will I do with myself?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 08/08/2007 12:50

Cov - I have a washing machine coming Friday courtesy of JL - they said 3pm-9pm so your sounds like a large range

2Cute same answer from me, I'm afraid (its that age!) lunch and then nap time. Could do a teatime post nap thing at about 4pm but that may be a bit late for you.

Kewcumber · 08/08/2007 12:53

Ah Sushi so your Ds is simi8lar to mine - about 2-2.5 hr nap. He goies to bed at 7.30 but doesn;t generally sleep until at least 8pm and wakes 6.30-7am.

they sound similar.

Am a bit confused about Japanese politics at the moment - you have an opposition leader in charge of the upper house now - how does that work? Does the upper house have real power is there going to be constant arguments about getting any business done?

SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 12:56

Mellow, can DH come, too?

ComeOVeneer · 08/08/2007 12:57

Kew we bought it through JL but it is being delivered by a different supplier, so perhaps that is why the long window.

Ds shows no sign of dropping his nap (he is now 2.8) and nearly always sleeps 2/2.5 hours every afternoon after lunch. I think this will continue when he starts nursery as I expect that will tire him out.

OP posts:
SushiMummy · 08/08/2007 13:02

Err, sorry QC, a bit ignorant on politics. Well, what I remember is the Upper House don't have the equal power as the Lower House, like Britsh Parliament? DH knows much better than me so you two can chat on Sat.
