Hiya Biglips, it did get cold there yesterday, good job I'd taken extra fleeces for everyone! We didn't see the helicopters, we got there just as the Red Arrows started. You should have seen the people waiting for the train to Liverpool, the platform was packed... we were lucky to get on the train, everyone was squashed side-by-side .

Sorry your ring hasn't turned up, but lovely of your dp to buy you a new one .

Browny · 28/08/2007 10:23

Biglips, my cousin is selling brand new houses at the moment and you should see the state of the lovely new wooden floors, they have been destroyed by marks left by high heels! They are much less hard wearing than laminate because the wood is much softer, so although they are beautiful... I don't think they'd be suitable for a house-full of children!

Biglips · 28/08/2007 10:35

well the thing that i dont wear high heels anyway

ahhh you shouldve of seen the helicopters as they were really good.

We got off as soon the Red arrows finished before the traffic get too mental!!

Nemo2007 · 28/08/2007 12:40

Agree real wood is a no no, my parents had it all over their house and it had tons of dints in etc. Laminate,we went to Beers on the dock road as it was very cheap. We paid £280 with underlay for the WHOLE of downstairs[34sqft] in a lovely honey oak colour and got loads of freebies thrown in by the bloke such as special sealent for the kitchen bit and colour fill, radiator caps etc.

Browny · 28/08/2007 14:59

Thanks for the recommendation Nemo, who laid it for you? (((can you tell that I'm very keen to get rid of this manky carpet?!)))

Biglips · 28/08/2007 15:06

yeah....who Nemo?? (please??)

Nemo2007 · 28/08/2007 21:33

Dh he has done all the decorating, flooring, tiling etc etc.

Biglips · 28/08/2007 21:38

yeah it is easy to lay down the laminate flooring as you can do it yourself. Well done to Nemos DH...dont forget the piccy once he had finished it

Browny · 28/08/2007 22:58

Nemo, there's no way on this earth that I'd let my dh anywhere near laminate, he thinks that he can fix anything with a hammer, plus our living room was once two separate rooms, so there's a ridge in between the two rooms, so it would have to be levelled off first, nothing is straight forward in my house!

SNOWBall4girlz · 28/08/2007 23:17

Just a quickie
We are going to have a birthday party for adam this year, will be his first party and will be on sunday 7th Oct, if people could let me know who would be coming and how many bringing would be great as that will dictate where it is being held.

Browny · 31/08/2007 15:29

Hi Nemo, we'd love to come, thank you... if it was o.k. by you I'd just bring Sophie and Joe, dh can have the other two .

Biglips · 31/08/2007 19:52

plain or fancy dress?

Nemo2007 · 31/08/2007 19:54

well BLS funnily enough DS asked if people could be in fancy dress as he wants to be a power ranger...lol So think it will probably be fancy dress.

Can I ask something soft though! Can I have peoples address as he wants to send invitations, its his first ever party and he is a bit excited..lol

Biglips · 31/08/2007 20:00

i love fancy dress parties as they are all cute to show off!

maisiedaisy · 01/09/2007 23:10

Hello all! Hope you are all well!

Well can't believe summer holidays are more or less over. I have not been very well and have been for lots of tests at the Royal and it turns out i have had glandular fever for a while so I have been taking it easy.

Nemo - DD would love to come to A's party. Is he excited about starting school?

Browny - does your LO start school this September?

I hope we can get together soon

Browny · 02/09/2007 08:46

Maisydaisy, sorry to hear that you've been ill, I believe it takes a long time to recover from G.F., hope you feel stronger son .

My ds2 starts nursery in a few weeks, but he keeps telling me that he doesn't want to go because "it's too loud" , he'll probably love it when he gets there though.

Hope to meet up with everyone soon .

Nemo2007 · 02/09/2007 09:56

Maisidaisie nightmare about GF I remember dh had it when we first got together and it completely knocked his immune system for a while.

Browny bless DS2 what date does he start? Adam goes 24th sept and he is chomping at the bit, however he is that bit older and really would have been better in reception this year.
