Alliwannado, just wishing you good luck with your house move next week .

Dd1 is leaving primary school this Friday, she's having a leaving ceremony on Thursday and I know that I'll be so emotional, I'll have to try really hard to keep myself together, as I don't want to set off my dd1 .

Biglips · 17/07/2007 12:11

Aaawwwwww......you'll be ok. She is all grown up now!

Browny · 17/07/2007 14:47

Biglips, how is your dd now?

I'm worried about the leaving ceremony because I can remember seeing all the teachers and pupils crying last year. Do you know that a lot of children's parents have hired limos for the last school day!!!

Biglips · 17/07/2007 17:26

s@2 - how r u today? is ya car ok?

Browny · 19/07/2007 14:40

Hi All, well I just about managed to keep myself together this morning at the ceremony, I coped by sipping water out of ds2's sports bottle .
It was lovely with all the children saying a few words about their memories of the school, then they did a dance from 'High School Musical'. What came next though did make the water works start, they showed baby photos of the children on a huge screen with the song, "I had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing playing .

Now look, just typing that has started me off again, I'm dreading picking them up from school tomorrow, think I'll have a glass of wine for dutch courage first!

I've arranged for dd1, dd2 and 6 of her friends to be collected by a white limo from outside the school tomorrow evening, have a ride around town and then be dropped off at the local disco, they are all so excited!

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather today .

Biglips · 19/07/2007 14:58

see youre a brave mum Browny.......but i would've of been sobbing inside my jumper if i saw the baby photos and (i had the time of my life ) Well done

Well DD is alot better today as no new poxs came out today as all nearly scabbed over! (what a scabby child she is!! as i cannot remember what she looks like with no poxs!!)

im just in the middle of spring cleaning as re-arranging my downstairs - again!... as got a massive display unit - gorgeous it is - Limed Oak - free off Freecycle!

must better get on wiv it!

stoppinattwo · 19/07/2007 17:11

Hi, well I collected the dd1 from outside her classroom this afternoon on her last ever day at primary. One by one they came out sobbing and hugged their teacher, I was dreading seeing the state of my dd1. My dad was there recording the event with his video camera and I think she saw him and tried to keep herself together, she was very close to tears and very quiet but she was O.K. I took lots of photos with her friends, but most of them were red eyed .

As soon as we got home there were both fighting to get into the bathroom to have showers and wash their hair!. They both looked stunning when we left the house and they were so surprised to see that instead of the white limo I'd hired, there was a massive black Hummer there outside the school waiting to take them for their ride! They'd upgraded us free! They had a ride to the Albert Dock, a pit-stop on the way back to collect dd1's friends ticket that she'd left at someone's house and then onto the disco!

They are still up now, I don' think they want the night to end!

I'm rather pleased with myself that I can still type despite having 3 large wines!.

Biglips · 20/07/2007 23:56

browny - gald everyone is having a good time.

i remember when i left my juniors and i never saw my classmates or friends ever again as they all went to the same school but i didnt cos i had to go to a different mainstream school with a hearing impaired unit (for the deaf) so i was ssoo terrified i didnt settle till i was in the 2nd year in high school - hated the first year as i didnt know anyone and as i was the tallest in the whole year..i was getting picked on by the older girls the year above me as i was taller than them.......... (i dont want anyone to feel sorry for me but was ok once i got into the 2nd year )
