mellow2 · 19/04/2007 15:29

Have fun, PC. You deserve it.

OP posts:
quokka · 19/04/2007 15:29

hey PC what size are you now (personal question I know)! Wil be doing a clearout of my wardrobe and I've got just about every size!?

quokka · 19/04/2007 15:33

how cheeky am I trying to off load all my stuff!

Nanou1 · 19/04/2007 16:34

hi everyone. i can't keep up with you lot! was off to france for easter and had a good time. came back on sunday night. things seem to be looking up a bit as i have a third job interview in hammersmith on tuesday so am pleased. i just hope dh will get a job soon as his assignment is ending in june. can someone give me a synopsis of important dates / events i have probably missed? thank you. mrsbig D; thanks for invitation. it is clashing with a potential outing but hopefully i shall be able to say definite yes soon. quokka how is the move going? getting excited? foxcub- how are you getting on? oops, best go... boss back to office... low profile; did the salaries today and they are not paying themselves so business in crisis big time and i'd rather resign in my own times than get the boot! hope you are all well. x ps: not working on Mon30 so could meet up with whoever is around for picnic maybe?

foxcub · 19/04/2007 19:07

Nanou Hi - [waves] glad you had nice hols and hope you can make it to Mrsd's.

Paddle - enjoy the solitude, the relaxation. Sounds bliss to me right now - sending you chocolately thoughts and alcoholic vibes

suejonez · 19/04/2007 19:50

DS has his developmental assessment tomorrow with community paediatric team (whatever they are!) to assess the effects of his prematurity. I have ust learnt that he is classed as an "extremely low birth weight baby", rather than the more moderate "very low birth weight" and the positively chubby "low birth weight". I wasn't nervous until this evening but now... he looks so healthy and seems to be developing OK even if he is a little small so I'm hoping they will say there isn't much wrong.

Paddle, would you like DS and I to come over and have breakfast in bed with you when we get up? Wouldn't want you to be lonely

Nanou stake your claim to a date for Quokka's leaving do a few messages down (25th or 26th I think)

foxcub · 19/04/2007 20:13

Sue - your DS seems to be really thriving physically and emotionally - can't see how they could say anything negative about his progress - have they seen him before i.e. is this a comparison with an earlier assessment or is it a first assessment??

pudding77 · 19/04/2007 21:25

I agree with foxie Sue, ds is absolutely fine and I can't see there being any problems. But good luck anyway

Paddle - hope you're enjoying yourself!

On my own for the second night in a row so I'm currently in bed with the laptop and Desperate Housewives on the telly!

pudding77 · 19/04/2007 21:41

Anyone around for a chat?

mellow2 · 19/04/2007 22:23

Hi puds,

I've been meaning to ask you. How is ds doing at the nursery? I'm looking for a nursery for dd.

OP posts:
foxcub · 19/04/2007 22:29

I'm around and gagging for a glass of wine. have eaten twice my body weight in green and blacks chocolate today

...just as well DH likes me fat eh?

I only eat super foods at the moment - breakfast is porridge and dark chocolate

pudding77 · 19/04/2007 22:48

ooh foxie, you've just reminded me, I've got some G&B's ice cream in the freezer, might have to go have some

Hi mellow - ds is starting to relax and enjoy it more now. We got an easter card from him that he'd done a bit of decoration on [awww]. Have you looked at any nurseries yet?

pudding77 · 19/04/2007 23:32

Right have to go to bed as its way past my bedtime!

mellow2 · 20/04/2007 08:27

No, I haven't started.

What's the name of the nursery ds goes to?

Everyone else,

Do you have any recommendations for a nursery for a 12-month old?

BTW, Dd is turning one tomorrow! Where has the year gone? I bought her a cake from Maison Blanc but I think my ILs might not be coming as MIL has a cold.

mellow2 · 20/04/2007 09:05

2cute,
I remembered you were horrified by one nursery in particular when you were doing the rounds. Which one was it?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 20/04/2007 09:19

morning all

foxie that's what i call a power breakfast

how are you all?

am planning on a quiet day after the exertions of yesterday. dd had no nap and a very active jumpy&talky sleep after a very jump run chat day i think she needs to slow down today.

and btw she is learning portuguese with the encouragement of my family, she is catching on so fast i really must make an effort and talk more to her

MrsRecycle · 20/04/2007 09:36

Sue - sorry to hear about ds - why do we assume the worst eh yet they look fit and healthy? I got a letter from ds' consultant yesterday asking me to ring him about the results of ds blood test that he had over 6 weeks ago. I've been worried sick over what it can be - why can't the consultant ring me and I'm seeing him in 2 weeks time, why can't it wait til then?

dh said not to worry its probably iron levels and I'm trying not to. Why doesn't the consultant return my calls? Arghhhh

pc - I'll mention that monitor to my friend when she's discharged from hosp.

Nannou - keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job front.

Foxie - I love bf - I can eat what I want (apart from onions that ds doesn't seem to like).

mellow2 · 20/04/2007 09:54

Don't worry MrsR. If the consultant wrote you a letter, it's probably a minor thing. If it was serious, he would have rung not written.

OP posts:
foxcub · 20/04/2007 10:00

mellow - at the risk of starting a huge row on this thread I wouldn't send mine to nursery until age 2 as I think they need 121 attention up until that age so used a childminder (family environment etc)

Foxie runs and hides...

pudding77 · 20/04/2007 10:04

Mellow, ds goes to the Little School which is across the A4, about 5 minutes from me. I also looked at Buttercups (in Syon Park), Teddies (the Ham) and Bringing up Baby. I personally thought the Little School was the best, the staff are all lovely and have been really good at settling ds in, all the food is cooked on the premises and is fresh, its just a really nice place!

MrsRecycle · 20/04/2007 10:04

Thanks mellow that's what my df said this morning and it reminded me that when he was admitted, they rang me whilst I was at Kew with Quokka.

pudding77 · 20/04/2007 10:06

Foxie - I understand your point but I couldn't find a childminder I liked around Brentford, plus the nursery ds goes to is 1 staff to 2 children so there is still lots of individual attention.

foxcub · 20/04/2007 10:12

1 staff to 2 children is pretty good its usually 1:3 for babies [impressed]

bunyanvillas · 20/04/2007 10:16

Pudding the same happened to me - couldn't find a childminder that I liked in my area so dd went to nursery 3 days a week from age 13 months. I had no choice - I had to return to work for financial reasons. However, the ratio in the baby unit is 2:1, I was and continue to be very impressed with the set-up and dd is thriving. I do agree with foxie re: the 1:1 thing until age 2 and would loved to have had her at home with me until then. But in the absence of that, I have to say that things are going pretty well! Now trying to work out how to afford another one as am desperately broody!
