Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

will miss the Easter bunny at Kew as we will be in the IOW. Fingers crossed for nice weather and I can take DS on the beach.

ComeOVeneer · 14/03/2007 11:00

Morning all. Well I have woken up full of cold. After yesterday at Kew and as it is such a lovely day outside I have just got back from the garden centre with lods of new plants and will be out in the garden this afternoon. DS didn't wake until 7.45 this morning which was great, yesterdays running around must have really worn him out.

quokka · 14/03/2007 12:43

ha ha just read down a bit, when my dh was on paternity leave he did the decking in the back yard - but didn't even finish it!!!! Yes they are dickheads at times but hopefully they will make up for it on mothers day

quokka · 14/03/2007 12:45

ok farm yard animals at Kew is on from 31st March - 15 April. Lots of fun and the lo's can hold and feed them. Should we try and do a weekend thing so everyone can get involved?

suejonez · 14/03/2007 12:57

Sounds lovely - I'm up for a weekend or a Friday after Easter. Don;t have my diary with me but will check this evening.

MrsRecycle · 14/03/2007 16:15

Thanks Sue - he charmed the nurses at the hospital (ds that is!). I did try and do it myself once but he woke up . Well said patient is in a bit of pain (told the surgeon to F* off when he was told to stay still) but it'll only last for a couple of days unfortunately. He thinks I'm being unsympathetic.

Did you say make up for it on Mother's Day Quokka - well my dh is going to be away on a lads weekend on Mothers Day and I have to entertain my mum and his mum.

sfxmum · 14/03/2007 16:21

oh mrsR maybe you should kick him where it hurtsit's not like you want more kids

MrsRecycle · 14/03/2007 18:27

that's dd2's job sfxmum

stepfordwife · 14/03/2007 23:09

hey fox cub...i'm still out here..just been a bit hectic at work plus march is a heady whirl of my birthday, wedding anniversary, st patrick's day and mother's day! do remember snarling to dh at one point:"you'd better not fob me off with one present for everything..."
how you diddling, m'dear?
hi everyone else. when i get my head above the (proverbial) parapet, would love to come out to play some time..

nopudstilleaster · 15/03/2007 08:32

morning all

hope everyone is well

I'm going to head over to Lollipop today if anyone would like to meet up.

sfxmum · 15/03/2007 09:11

morning all

weird tiring night, dd would wake up crying at random intervals making odd demands crying some more then going back to sleep, not sure what happened apart from i feel very tired.

puds was thinking of lollipop but apparently it will be cold and nasty next week so i might save it for then, but will ask dd.

my wedding anniversary is next week, i think 5yrs is wood so i will plant a tree and the plan is to take dd to the science museum then leave her at my sis while we have dinner, if we have the energy.

hope everyone ok

Eleusis · 15/03/2007 10:13

I am so tired. I went out last night and partied like some irresponsible fool. This is going to be a long day.

But, I had lots of fun. A friend from Chicago is here and we went to a reception at the House of Commons. Met a couple of MPs and drank the night away. Then we went back to the Ritz and had the most expensive drinks I have ever consumed in life, courtesy of the lovely Paulaplumbottom, who also flew to Lond for our little shin dig. Lovely time, but boy am I tired. And to top it off, I've just remembered that I have a parent-teacher conference tonight.

bunyanvillas · 15/03/2007 10:13

Commiserations, SFX. Perhaps a stint in the sunshine and a large dose of caffeine will help you out, along with the prescription shades! DH went out for a few beers last night and DD refused to go to sleep, screaming hysterically for Daddy - and thumped me in the stomach twice

mellow2 · 15/03/2007 10:27

Hi everyone,
I'm working from home today so I might pop out for a bit of sunshine before it gets nasty next week.

Foxie,
What was Monti's length at birth? Did they measure him? I wouldn't mind you talking about Monti and sore nips.

That's what MN is for, having chats about topics that non-moms wouldn't want to talk about.

sfxmum · 15/03/2007 10:43

mellow as soon as i manage to move and get things together i am off to kew, taking bunyan 's advice shades at the ready and ouch!
oh and mrsR had good results following last thu chat

ele at least you had a good time, was that a celebration of Trident? not that they need an excuse

have a nice day all

Eleusis · 15/03/2007 11:04

sfx, it was just a reception held jointly for Republicans and Conservatives. The trident vote, which finished when we were there was a bonus though.

suejonez · 15/03/2007 11:39

Oh Ele, I remember you mentioning the do at the HOC. Did you meet an MP called Greg Clark? He represents Tunbridge Wells and I think is one of the new movers and shakers in the Tory party. HE's lovely (unusually for an MP!)

Eleusis · 15/03/2007 11:46

Don't think so. But, I did meet William Hague.

suejonez · 15/03/2007 12:01

Ooh whats he like - I always though he was underrated as an MP and leader - just mot media freindly enough

Eleusis · 15/03/2007 12:40

short and bald (enough to do any good politician in).

Some of the Republicans were a bit irritated with Mr. Cameron (who wasn't there) because he is meeting with Al Gore today).

I wonder if Cameron thinks the Democrats are going to supply the next US president and so he is shmoozin his way in through Gore?

sfxmum · 15/03/2007 12:46

dd not keen on doing anything other sucking thumb and curling on sofa.

Ele - William Hague, Oliver Letwin and Ann Widdecombe are some of the most interesting tories around regardless of politics
in fact WH was often LOL at PMQ when leader

oh i am bored

MrsRecycle · 15/03/2007 13:10

Yes mellow - as a result of our chat on Thurs, I changed the position of feeding ds (underarm now) and his interest has been renewed. He prefers looking up at me rather than staring at my sleeve.

Ele - you posh bird! I am so glad you are suffering - you had too much of a good time hahaha! The Houses of Parliament are amazing arent they?

sfx - sorry to hear about dd - just give her lots of cuddles - I never miss the chance.

Quokka - you around? I spoke to dd2's teacher (who teaches dd1 knitting) and she knows how to crouchet (sp??). She's going to give me her mobile number and I'll pass it on to you.

Eleusis · 15/03/2007 13:12

Did you just call me a bird? Well I never!

How's Mr. Snip?

MrsRecycle · 15/03/2007 13:31

Yes you are an owl or was formally known as one!!

He's just got back from work in agony - a woman he was moving has a 5 month old baby and she laughed when she told him what he'd had!! Aren't we a nasty lot eh?

mellow2 · 15/03/2007 13:48

MrsR,
Glad ur ds is interested in bf again. I think all babies go through a "I'm really bored with milk" phase.
