Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

am so about cinema. dd and ds are too young, but I love teh cinema, still a big treat for me (mental note - must get out more)

my temp nanny (a trainee primary school teacher) is up for babysitting. cost is £6 an hour if you pay her taxi home (which is St Marys college in Twickenham) or £8 an hour if you don't. She cycles so if you live fairly close to St Mary's college (I'm thinking of you here Paddle!) then she'd do it for £6/hour. and she's free on Saturday!

have had a free day today - a rare treat and really bizarre- I didn't know what to do with myself, I just knew that I didn't want to meet anyone just wallow in the glorious self indulgence of being kid-free for a few hours. I wandered around Richmond looking at shops where clothes are too skinny, expensive and trendy for me. so consoled myself with a croissant and coffee from Paul Wondering why the clothes were too skinny for me

It's all about to be shot to pieces when I collect the rugrats from school and my zen like aura of calm will be shattered as I wipe snot, clean bums and scream 'NO' rather a lot.

uwila · 07/02/2007 15:08

oxo, isn't your DS the same age as my DD? I took her to happy feet and she was fab. But, DH doesn't believe me.

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 15:12

Oxo - mmmmmm I lurve Paul's - their croissants are to die for [licks lips]!

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 15:22

Just had my pre baby haircut. Came back to work and no one has noticed!!

ComeOVeneer · 07/02/2007 16:11

2pm Kingston would be great, if you can get tickets Uwila. Have been very productive today painting DD's room. We were supposed to have a roofer coming tomorrow to replace the 2 ridge tiles that blew off in the bad weather a couple of weeks ago (one smashed on the ground the other is precariously hanging half in the gutter) but he has cancelled due to the possible bad weather tomorrow. DC's won't be happy as if it does snow they can't go in the garden and build a snowman for fear the tile will come smashing down on them .

uwila · 07/02/2007 16:53

COV,

Tickets booked.

Do you want to meet at the cinema just outside it by the ticket machine at say 1:45?

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 17:22

oxo, ta for the tip, will bear in mind but still hoping dh will come thru (as opposed to shoot thru!!)

Apparently I names someones child (apologies to whomevers child I named - It wasn't consious and I can;t for the life of me think who it might have been as I can generally never remember names!)

xoxo · 07/02/2007 17:27

uwila: yes ds is teh same age as your dd - but she (as with all girls) is soooo much more mature.
ds would hapilly spend all day playing with his willie. or running around pretending to be an aeroplane. or both.
staying in a cinema is too much like hard work with him. although we did see over teh hedge during the week a while ago in Feltham. myself and my friend and our kids were the only ones there so it didn't matter if the kids walked along the aisles. that worked well. but tonnes of popcorn helped.

top cinema tip then is : wait until film is outside it's flush of newness, then go to Feltham during the week at 11am. No good for us working mums though [smugness smile]

xoxo · 07/02/2007 17:28

ahhhh, nothing to do with porn then?

uwila · 07/02/2007 17:49

Sue, you named Monti's sister.

I'm sorry, did you say my DD was mature? News to me!

sfxmum · 07/02/2007 18:02

not sure if she is mature but she has a fine line in small talk 'i really like your necklace' she said to me

uwila · 07/02/2007 18:05

Yeah, that usually means "Can I have it?"

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 19:26

Oops - sorry Foxie - wasn't even aware I'd done that. Losing my marbles.

ComeOVeneer · 07/02/2007 20:43

Fab Uwila 1.45pm is fine. DD'sschool are threaening closure tomorrow if there is heavy snow. DD is excited that that means plenty of time to play in the snow, only problem is DS is terrified of he snow and won't go near it. Not sure how I can juggle the 2 of them.

ComeOVeneer · 07/02/2007 20:54

I was wondering if anyone was up for doing this in memory of GGG's little girl and raise some money for SIDS. Perhaps we could arrange a West London one?

lemonaid · 07/02/2007 21:00

More sociable to join in with the main London one, probably. Do we know who's organising that? (no harm in trying to sway them in a westerly location...)

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 21:27

evening all

COV, I'd definately take part in a Mile for Maude. Happy to do main London one or a West London one.

I rather think there is no details for a main London one coz no one's stepped up to the plate yet!

After all, we do have Richmond Park and a wonderful path along the Thames we could use.

I already donated to SIDS as well.

sfxmum · 07/02/2007 21:31

most def up for the walk, of course might blub all the way through it if i am not careful

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 21:54

Also up for a walk if its accessible for me plus buggy.

Didn;t realise it was SIDS - I thought that was only a risk under 1yr old. I need to go off and panic now...

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 21:57

i think there will be much blubbing!

Sue, i was totally shocked and even more paranoid about dd after this tragedy. btw, i have a great and very comfortable sling you could borrow but i doubt we'd go for anything too off-road lol!

despite being in prime Chelsea Tractor territory.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 22:04

Sophable suggested Richmond park on the other thread which would suit me fine, 11am is currently DS's nap time but I suspect he will move to having one later nap by May so should be fine. Might be prepared to travel to central London park but only if close to a tube (eg Green Park)

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 22:04

I'm free tomorrow morning if anyone fancies a coffee...

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 22:13

I think Richmond's perfect, I'm not biased honest LOL!

Don't worry Sue, if it's a Central London event we'll go mob-handed so plenty of help juggling kids & buggies....... I hope LOL!

wish i could meet you, got those gro-bags etc, but another trip (3rd this week) to the office.

honestly you'd think they'd pay me to stay home and visit with friends wouldn't you!

btw, we may all be snowed in!

OP posts:
suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 22:16

Snow, pah - amateurs!

Won;t keep me in - a light dusting of the white stuff...
