Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

uwila · 06/02/2007 16:37

Cool, COV. Finally, the DDs can meet.

sfxmum · 06/02/2007 17:37

uwila i think you are broody
don't think it is worth it before the weekend.

dh seems not to be taking any chances and was spurred on to ask for a pay rise

trying2bgood · 06/02/2007 18:02

nanou - good luck with that

pudding77 · 06/02/2007 18:14

nanou - fingers crossed for the job

very angry at my dr - had an appointment for ds, dr was running behind and we had to wait for over an hour . Then, we finally get in to see him, he tells me what the problem is which I didn't know anything about (glue ear) & if I hadn't have asked about it we would've been out in 2 mins . Never mind that one woman was in there for 30 mins

Sorry, rant over!

foxabout2pop · 06/02/2007 19:06

Uwila I'd love to come on Sunday but I have my bookclub at 3pm and don't think I could cope with:

two things on one day
the mad dash in between

pudding77 · 06/02/2007 20:40

Quiet tonight.

Anyway, I'm off oop north tomorrow till Saturday and don't know if I'll be able to check in much! I'll text someone on Saturday if I'm not going to be able to make it.

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2007 21:22

Uwila, checked with dh and he is quite happy to sit around in peace for a few hours whilst we go to the movie and ds naps. Will we need to book or just turn up, also where is it?

2Cute · 06/02/2007 21:55

Hello all

Fingers crossed for you Nanou. Commuting is so draining.

Foxi - I think you're so right, we always feel guilty about the to work or not to work thing. Why do we beat ourselves up for no reason

IMO it's so important for LO's to interact with other kids. My plan was to start him at a play groupy type thing at 2.5 but he was clearly not ready so we waited but I made sure we had at least 2/3 trips out a week where he could play with others.

uwila · 06/02/2007 22:44

COV, I think the options are Richmond Odeon at 1:00 or Kingston (forgotten the schedule?). We'll be at church in Twickenham until about 12:00. So Richmond would deffo be doable, but we could probably make Kingston as well. Kingston is obviously closer to you. Do you have a preference?

Cool.I love when a plan comes together. And DD will be thrilled to hear that we are difinately going.

I like to buy my tickets when I get there because then I can pick the seats. (if that'sokay with you)

ComeOVeneer · 06/02/2007 22:51

Happy to doKingston or Richmond, (just need towork out where the one in Richmond is). I was just wondering if tickets will be avaliable at the door as it is a relatively new film. Haven't told dd yet but she will be thrilled, as she wants to see the film, but also has been asking when she is going to meet these "new friends" mummy has promised her

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 06:29

Morning Grrls

I went to bed at 7.30pm last night - waking between 11.30pm and 1am for a sandwich and hald a glass of wine, then slept 1-5am!! Gor my eight hours in

Getting my pre - birth haircut today at the Ginger Group in Ealing DS also has his assembly this morning which will be nice.

Also, very excitingly, am going to order a nittygritty comb and a TENS machine

Puds - hope you make it Saturday it'll be lovely to see you.

Paddle R U on for deff on Saturday (well as deffo as anything is fatm)?

Sue - did you broach the subject of babysitting with your Mum?

Wonder how MrsD is getting on...

Am of the cinema trip on Sunday - hope you enjoy the film and let us all know if its worth a trip.

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 07:00

morning all

foxie, you and me both with the early nights! altho i was still putting dd to bed at 7:30. i just cannot stay up much beyond 10pm at the mo.

dd still asleep - unheard of! will have to wake her shortly.

took her to office yesterday and she charmed the pants off everyone! had a very urban and chic lunch together outside Tate Modern in the sun (ham butties and baby belles!!) then a stroll down the river to Waterloo.

dd felt very much the urban baby. hopped on my train to St Mags only to find I was heading for Woking! what a div!

ah well!!

still not sure about saturday i'm afraid.

MrsB would love texts from everyone, she was worried about going into the internet wasteland till they get their connection back.

who knows about ordering from vertbaudet? i haven't had any (email or otherwise) confirmation of my order and it's invoice payment so can't even use a credit card check to see if they got my order. is this normal?

as for the working mums debate, think foxie's got it right. if you can do something part time from about 12 months+ i think that's a happy medium.

HOW COLD IS IT!!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 07:01

how spooky is this? i literally JUST had an email from Vertbaudet confirming my account details!

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 07:24

Blooody freezing - hope it snows tonight

Paddle - I hear Woking is very nice BTW!!

Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 08:32

Nooooooooooooooooo!

No snow! Not till about 9pm at least.

I need my mother to get here so my childcare is sorted and I need to get back from the office in time to pick dd up from CM.

Apparently there's a severe weather warning out for later today - UK-wide. M25 in Maidstone already snowing!

eek!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 07/02/2007 08:33

ps: Woking station is pretty ordinary, didn't see much else!

OP posts:
uwila · 07/02/2007 08:52

COV, I just looked online and we can do a family ticket (good for 4) for less £ at Kingston. I could probably make the 1:00 show, but might depend on traffic. So I think a 2:00 showing might be a safer bet. Do you want me to book the tickets? Do you know where the Kingston Odeon is?

Bloody BT closed my fault case becasue they tried the line and it worked - obviously didn;t wait for anyone to answer and realise that its going to the wrong number.

They have had to reopen it - thankfully the poeple whose number ts going to have also reported it.

sfxmum · 07/02/2007 12:02

sue - glad it all went well and you are really aiming for him to be happy and secure, not really missing you much is a good sign.

i am stuck at home waiting for a parcel, one of those anytime between 9-5 jobs, how i hate it

not sure about sat now, dd is having her prevenar vaccine in the morning and i will not be going anywhere if she is poorly, although she usually isn't, so fingers crossed

wave to everyone

uwila · 07/02/2007 12:09

Sue, DD used to sream and runaway when I showed up to pick her up from the childminder after 10 hours. Now if that doesn't deflate the mummy ego nothing will.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 12:19

lol Uwila - have a mental picture of your DD running away from you now! Actually Brenda has one advantage I don;t have - twodogs and one of them is too fat to run away unlike my cats

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 12:19

Uwila !!

Sue - I'm so glad it went well with Brenda today. She is fabulous isn't she (I call her "gold dust"). Will your DS be there am or pm next week. My DD is at nursery each am. It would be nice if they could spend the arvo together as DD really likes him (and likes rolling on him !).

I saw your frined's friend Linda this monring (the one who you met at dinner - Mum of my DS's class mate). She said your friend was raving about how gorgeous your DS is

BT are truly unbeleivable aren't they. I am going to e-mail you a model letter of complaint which you can adapt and send to them

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 07/02/2007 12:21

I think my friend (fiona) may be going on holiday with Linda - their sons are the same age. I don;t think they'll overlap much but maybe for an hour after nursery, though he's normally asleep at that time, so she may not have much luck with him!

foxabout2pop · 07/02/2007 12:35

Sue - have e-mailed you the letter - hope you like it
