Hope he's ok Sarah and you get some sleep tonight. hospitals are pants sometimes, trust your instincts. Ohhh no Hebden Bridge I was looking forward to visiting you in your tie dye kaftan selling organic caff for a nice cup of weasel dung coffee - hey ho!! I quite like Shelley if I was moving round here, Hepworth's nice too but too expensive.
Ginger - I had a coughing fit when I left my message with Looby Lou lady so she probably didn't get my phone number. If she rings I'll tell her I was opening up my chakras - ooeerr

gingermonkey · 02/02/2007 20:35

sarah a febrile convulsion started with a really high temp, so prob not what your ds had. It was scary though and sounded much the same. FWIW DD has really deep dreams and nightmares, which are sometimes really scarey. She will cry, shake and scream in her sleep but her eyes are wide open. I PMSL at her face now because I am used to it, she gets a demented look, but DH doesn't like it and gets freaked out!

Anyone fancy a nice cup of dandelion tea? I'm just off to brew one, mmmmm, delicious!!! And I am currently floating about the house in my home made, hemp, tie dye kaftan.

gingermonkey · 02/02/2007 20:37

oh and I want to build a house right where the play area is at Cannon Hall, I think it would be quite a nice place to live and fab views. Think planning might be a problem tho.......

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 21:06

Love Cannon Hall - we got married there - aawww!!!

Hate to shatter your illusions Monkeys but when I went to Louby Lous it was a lot more stern primary teacher than earth mother doing the class!!! But please, don't let me spoil your fun

Have you thought about classes in Hebden Bridge .........

thethirdwisemonkey · 02/02/2007 22:26

Think I've blown it barbara from Looby lous phoned this evening and I said oh hello , thanks for calling back BOOBara??? While dh pissed himself laughing. She told me that they're full up now for morning classes. Hmmm I think I'm not posh enough and she doesn't like my pronunciation of her name Good luck Ginger, she did sound a bit stern Sarah, mind you I had just called her a tit !!!

gingermonkey · 03/02/2007 19:34

I couldn't talk to her properly, had Boobera in my head! She obviously didn't like my slightly posh accent, maybe she doesn't like Southerners (or she could hear my whale music playing in the background). Either way we're not on either as I can only do the mornings. Hasn't it been a lovely day today? Roll on spring! Shame dd has been a brat all day, and even reading some of my 'talking to tweenies' book and trying to understand how she feels pressure from her peers couldn't chill me out - just wanted to throttle her!!! 7 yr olds are a nightmare, and I hear they don't get any better....

sarahhal · 04/02/2007 09:15

Hope DD is in a better mood today gingermonkey! We went to Cannon Hall yesterday - have you seen the new play bit they are building? Can't wait for that to be up and running.

I've decided i need a new primate related name. Possibly a fellow monkey-er or do I feel more of an ape. Actually at this present moment, it's a baboon.

Can we do like Blue Peter do when they name the animals and find me a name please

pudding77 · 04/02/2007 09:57

hiya, I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread! I'm coming up to Wakefield next week to visit my parents and I was wondering if any of you would mind telling me if there are any play areas or groups etc for a 1 year old?

thanks very much x

sarahhal · 04/02/2007 10:21

Good Morning pudding!!

Now I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Wakefield play places and don't really like any of them! Others will argue with me and say that Cheeky Monkeys/Alphabet Zoo are ok!

For a one year old I'd recommened our old favourite of Jellybeans. It's actually in between Wakefield and Hudderfield in Denby Dale. It's in Springfield Mill and is great for little ones - no huge slide or climbing things just lots of little tykes toys, small ball pool etc.

If the weather is good there's Cannon Hall - has a farm with loads of animals, lovely grounds, fab playground ( not sure for a one year old!!!)and a tea room!

Think I've just found a new job working for Tourist Information......

trace2 · 04/02/2007 10:24

sarah you still there?? just read about your ds is he ok?? my dd1 when was little had fits she grew out of them,

and yes thursady ok, whats best time for you??

sarahhal · 04/02/2007 16:26

Hi trace. DS fine in himself but has always had these strange jolts/twitches in his sleep so of course I'm now worried that it's something more serious. Despite A & E saying they won't refer him on, we are going to make an appointment to see the consultant we saw about the other things.
Thursday - we are usually home by 5.00 then the manic time is usually 6.30 until 7.30 so either between 5.00 and 6.30 or after 7.30 would be good.
What kind of fits did you daughter have? What did they say they were?

gingermonkey · 04/02/2007 16:43

Hello pudding. I would agree with sarahhal about Jellybeans. It's really easy to find too and is perfect for the little ones.
sarah what about baboonbum? I always like baboon's bums - they make me laugh! DD has been in a much better mood today although we did have to go to leeds for a new school cardi and tights today which caused a tantrum(when I would have preferred to go out in the sunshine too), but she was much happier after lunch in Harvey Nichols (and when the man asked me if I would like him to take my coat, she gave him hers and said 'thank you very much!'). Now we are doing homework, which should have been done friday but she was grumpy then too...there's a running theme isn't there?! My 'talking to tweenies' book says that this age is very hard for them, it is for me!!!! She is the little one in the year (end of aug b.day) and her teacher says she tries to keep up with the older ones when emotionally she's still in the infants. Poor little baby! When she's good she's very, very good - but when she's bad she's horrid!!!

trace2 · 04/02/2007 16:44

no sarah they did she started having when 5 months old but they was with her temp, but had two like normal ones she was sean for a while until a long time passed until she didnt have an other, the last one was when she was 6 we was walking along in a field and she just went down, i thought she was tieing her shoe lace, then when i relised i picked her up and ran to my mums where we took her to hospital,

gingermonkey · 04/02/2007 16:52

wise monkey are you there? Or are you joy-riding that scooter around the streets of Flockton??? Thursday morning at Leap frogs, not sure what time but I reckon 10 ish. Anyone else want to meet up?????

pudding77 · 04/02/2007 17:05

thanks everyone, I'm sure I can find Jellybeans! I think if the weather is nice we might venture to Cannon Hall as well, used to go there when I was little but bet its changed quite a bit now.

Hanlou007 · 04/02/2007 18:03

10 is great with me

sarahhal · 04/02/2007 18:20

Mmm, we've got a parents day thing on Thurs. Wonder if my 10.00-11.00 appointments would notice if I popped out to Jellybeans? Or Maybe I could meet them in there!

Now if I change my name to Baboonbum as the Ginger monkeyed one suggests, won't any of you who don't know me feel a bit of a tit if we meet up and you have to say " Are you baboonbum" to a total stranger. Then again just realised you do all know my name anyone thanks to my hugely unimaginative nickname!!!

So this is sarahhal signing off for the last time!!!

BaboonBum · 04/02/2007 18:22

BOO!

thethirdwisemonkey · 04/02/2007 18:28

Hallooooo
I'm here, phew what a day. On a v.sad note got a call from my mum today and apparently my cousin went into hossie last Thursday for a D&C, had a severe allergic reaction to the anaesthetic and she has suffered total kidney and liver failure and is in a coma, she's only 44 - bloody shocking and sad, we're all reeling. Anyhow on a brighter note some mates we haven't seen for ages came round this afternoon so have been doing some RL stuff - amazing. Hey sarahhal or should I say bigredshinybaboonsbum, we had a little walk this morning and sauntered past your house did you see us??? cooeeeee!!!
Thursday at leapfrogs sounds v.g. i'll try to make it for 10 but may be nearer 10.30, ds simply HAS to watch Me Too before we come out, well actually - whisper this bit -it's me! How will I know you do you look like monkeys?

BigRedShinyBaboonsBum · 04/02/2007 20:02

wisemonkey. How awful.

Yeah I saw you walking past today and ran upstairs, closed all the curtains and said to the DSes " If the bell rings let's all pretend to be asleep"

So your name is winning for now!

gingermonkey · 04/02/2007 20:33

Shinybum, I love it!!! wise monkey you will know me, because I have a ginger curly haired monkey boy toddling around (and I have short dark hair and specs) Just shout 'monkey' and I will respond! Hanlou sounds like Pat Butcher (ha ha ha - I hope she sees this!!!!) and she has a nearly 2 yr old and a 7 mth old, both girls (but doesn't look stressed with it - must be smoking crack or something!) See you thurs, but no doubt will chat before then (coz I have no life....)

gingermonkey · 04/02/2007 20:33

...and monkey, that is awful and very sad news. I hope she is ok

thethirdwisemonkey · 04/02/2007 20:37

oooh shinybum you won't have seen us flicking the V s at your house as we walked by then - damn

PhoenixGirl · 04/02/2007 22:07
