music and movement @Leapfrogs. Thursday afternoons. term time only. taken by a 'proper' dance teacher but session not totally dance. 1.45 - 2.15 beginners; 2.15-3 advanced. costs £3.35 (think that's everything)

Ds is nearly 4 and has been going for a year but he's still in the beginner class - he's completely unable to concentrate!!

gingermonkey · 30/01/2007 19:16

thanks stinky, I may pop down and have a look. DD used to go to jo jingles when she was little and she loved it, so I was hoping for something similar for ds.

gingermonkey · 31/01/2007 13:21

Hanlou, I've cat you x. Is dd1 feeling better now? Am def free next thurs if you want to meet up. Spoke to personal trainer and she can do me tues instead, need to get fit. I am knackered all the time and without getting in the car there's nowhere to walk here, except the main road and half of that has no pavement - not very safe for me and the monkey!

Hanlou007 · 31/01/2007 15:51

I have replied to your CAT.

Its the hills that kill me up here

gingermonkey · 31/01/2007 16:46

I know the feeling, I'm from suffolk and only holland is flatter! I've emailed you x

thethirdwisemonkey · 31/01/2007 22:13

Hello everyone, sounds good at leapfrogs only prob for us is ds has his afternoon nap at that time and he's v.grouchy without it !!! I'm thinking about trying a music with mummy (that sounds sooooo poncey!) session in wakefield. Anyone fancy doing something on a Monday/Thursday morning anytime - give us a shout !!! Have you seen me whizzing round on my scooter yet ginger?

StinkyPete · 31/01/2007 22:29

ginger - do you know you can park free at the village hall in bretton (about 2 minute drive from you)and walk into one of the best parks in yorkshire?

gingermonkey · 01/02/2007 07:21

Yes, I walk there. I just want to walk out of my house and round a duck pond or the Village Green! Bretton Park is great and I am very lucky to have it just down the road (would it better if I could walk to it tho). There's no pleasing me, is there????

gingermonkey · 01/02/2007 07:23

Yes wisemonkey, I've seen you, did you not notice I tried to mow you down the other day???? Where's music with mummy (what about daddy, is he not allowed?)

sarahhal · 01/02/2007 08:47

Good morning Monkeys!! Look at this, how naughty am I on mumsnet at school!

There's a music group in Denby Dale that I went to with my two. Only went once as illness etc struck. Think it was called Louby Loos - there's an ad on netmums for it. It was ok but would have prefered something a bit more "get up and go" if you know what I mean! DS1 was most upset that you only got to play with the loud stuff for a short while!

Thirdwisemonkey - was that you stranded on the zebra crossing in the village on your scooter

gingermonkey · 01/02/2007 09:24

DETENTION FOR SARAHHAL!!! And to think this is what our tax pennies pay for!! Ha ha ha! Hope you are having a good day at school and the kiddies are behaving themselves. The monkey likes to be noisy, he will need a very active music class. At the moment all he wants to do is 'out, ball!!!'. I'm off to the gym...see you all later x

PhoenixGirl · 01/02/2007 20:43

alibo · 01/02/2007 22:57

hello again! matthew has had a lovely birthday, and especially enjoyed having his nanna here for the week. "choc choc" here we come! he now thinks he's barnsley's answer to bob the builder with his new tool bench-bless! we trawled meadowhall, in vain yesterday looking for a few new summer clothes; now going to get a few bits from next directory instead. must try and not take enough clothes to sink the plane!
went to the foresters inn at lower cumberworth, if anyone knows it tonight, for matthew's birthday, was really nice home cooked food. would recommend the early bird menu, 6-7.30pm, 2 main courses, 2 sweets for £10 total!, and 2 free kid's meals included!
hope to meet again soon; and stinkey thanks for info on leapfrogs; may try it when we get back.

PhoenixGirl · 01/02/2007 23:05

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW

Have a great hol alibo and family xx

gingermonkey · 02/02/2007 16:34

Happy Birthday Matthew!!!! Alibo, don't get too much stuff before you go, you can get some cool Aussie clothes over there (which you will end up doing anyway, and so you'll need an extra suitcase to bring back with you!!!!) Have a good trip!

wise monkey I also liked your 'my other car is a porsche' sticker and the go faster stripes you have on the buggy - special touch!!!! Are you free next thurs (8th) morning? Hanlou and me (and anyone else who is free) are meeting up. Haven't decided where yet, but I did rather like Jellybeans because I didn't need to move much! I do like a poncey and PC toddler group, I may pretend to be a lesbian, single mum if I go to music with whoever, I think they'd like that! I've emailed them but they haven't replied yet, prob very busy with their tambourines and scratchy wood things!

thethirdwisemonkey · 02/02/2007 17:17

Ginger - we are indeed free on Thurs 8th, I'll leave the scooter at home if that's ok, don't want to cramp my sons style where are we going? Hasn't it been a lovely day today - quite spring like. I've left a message for Looby lou person to ring me, the only class we'd be able to get to is Monday morning, my buddy is interested in coming as Denby Dale is half way between us. Do you think I might have to wear a poncho and clogs??? I do hope there are pan pipes or at least recorders!!!

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 18:07

It was Louby Lou I went to monkies in Denby Dale -tbh I found it a bit too controlled and quiet if that makes sense!!

Ended up in Pinderfields in early hours of this morning - DS1 had some kind of fit during the night. I woke up hearing this weird noise and found him having some full blown fit in bed. Jesus, talk about scary. Eyes wide open and jerking all over the place. Couldn't bring him round and DH was panicking that he'd lost consciousness. Rang ambulance and they took him off to A & E. They won't follow up as it was his first, but as he has these weird falling asleep spasms in the car, I'm sure they are linked so am going to get referred. Am dreading tonight as know I'll be out of bed every ten minutes checking. Think will get baby monitor out too.

DS is absolutely fine today and as bonkers as ever - but that I got to spend a day at home with my boys!!

thethirdwisemonkey · 02/02/2007 18:56

Ohh blimey Sarah is he ok? are you ok?? what did the hossie say to you?

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 19:04

DH went with him and said they were pretty useless. Wish they'd gone to Huddersfield. They say it was probably a deep nightmare, but they didn't see it- without being dramatic I'm sure it was an epileptic fit. He had no fever and hasn't been ill. It was the not being able to wake him up that really scared us.

gingermonkey · 02/02/2007 19:08

oooh, monkey, I've left a message for looby lou too. Sounded quite handy being just down the road. Gingermonkey may not enjoy it, as it's not him doing what he wants when he wants...we shall see what looby lou says and whether she'll accept my sort into her class (think I'll chant some buddhist stuff down the phone to her and tell her she has an amazing, calming aura). That should do it! Don't know where we are going yet, I quite fancy jellybeans but will ask hanlou. Her mum is up at mo and hubby is off work so she is prob having a real life and not being saddos like us lot, ha ha ha (speaking for myself, there). I'll let you know what she reckons.
sarah, sorry to hear about your LO, is he ok? DD had a febrile convulsion once, it was horrible, but she was fine after that. Never had another. It was the scariest moment of my life and DH was bloody useless, just ran about shouting and crying whilst I said 'phone an ambulance' a million times (I couldn't drive at the time and didn't trust him!). He couldn't find his car park ticket today and told me he couldn't cope without me, bless 'im! Anyway, going off the subject there! Hope he is ok tonight (and forever and ever), and you don't worry too much. Nice having a day off tho, eh?

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 19:16

Have had a lovely day Gingermonkey!
DS1 is a bit intune with me if you know what I mean. I spent yesterday a bit hormonal and tearful about working full time and not spending time with the boys, then this happens. Back in October I was really fed up in my old job and wanting to be at home more and he goes and falls over and almost bites his tongue off so I have to have a couple of days off. Must stop wishing for days off.

Am a bit obsessed with moving at the moment. Gone off Hebden Bridge Wisemonkey - just couldn't cope with all the tye die and herbal teas Think I'd like to stay in this area but really want somewhere which has a primary school with a nursery/playgroup in same village which is good!! Desperate to get away from this bloody main road before a Bon Marché truck wipes my family out!

Quite fancying Emley/Sheply at the moment ...

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 19:18

By the way Gingermonkey, what were the symptoms of a febrile convulsion?

sarahhal · 02/02/2007 19:20

By the by the way you two Monkeys - PMSL at the thought of you two in the music group. Make sure you take some pics when you are banging your drums marching round
