quokka · 27/01/2007 16:53

is your banister flat or round?

quokka · 27/01/2007 16:54

You may not realise this but I think your famous!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 27/01/2007 16:56

lol at the idea I'm famous

stairgate needs to attach to two flat wooden surfaces, so could screw in or use pressure fit

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 27/01/2007 16:57

must go Daniel will wake soon and I can have 10 mns peace and quiet with a can of diet coke. Strange how my idea of bliss has changed over the past 3 months!!!

quokka · 27/01/2007 17:06

this one should fit then, email me or give us a call.

foxabout2pop · 27/01/2007 18:32

actually Sue, 38,398 of those hits were from me when I was bored at work.

uwila · 27/01/2007 19:25

Oh Sue. I can completely rtelate to the joys of peace and Diet Coke.

Hey is Fat Boys good for you for the next night out? (feb 10)

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 27/01/2007 20:08

Fat Boys is good for me but I would need to make sure I have a babysitter will find out if my mum can do it, she's the only one he is familiar enough with at this stage to leave him - is 10th a Saturday?

Got an email from my website administrators this evening - over 52,000 visits in total - Foxie, did you do any work at all in the last three months if they were all you.

Uwila - I took your playtex sippy cups with me and they were well used. They are a bit heavy for him to hold when full but they were great to carry without covering my bags in juice!

Paddlechick666 · 27/01/2007 20:45

evening all

thanks for the encouraging responses to my bf dilemma.

i piked tonight and gave dd a brief bf but didn't allow any comfort sucking. still followed by 50 mins of thrashing around the bed, hair pulling, face smashing (aka kissing from my dd!) and general anti-social behaviour!

she finally conked out. i think tomorrow i'll try the milk drink and no bf at all.

sj, very true and good comments about bonding.

as for Fat Boys, I think it totally unreasonable to plan a night out at my favourite restaurant when I cannot join you!

quokka · 27/01/2007 20:49

pc check your email

uwila · 27/01/2007 20:55

I think it is totally unreasonable for you to not join us when we plan a night out at your favourite restaurant.

Paddlechick666 · 27/01/2007 21:06

no email Quokka, it can be tempermental tho.

uwila, yeah i know. on the one hand, i just can't do saturdays as no sitter and on the other hand i am still sort of hoping we may be away.........

uwila · 27/01/2007 21:18

Sitters

I'm just sayin... well... you weren't there last time....

Paddlechick666 · 28/01/2007 07:44

morning

quokka, thanks! also, sorry i never said last night but hope you're feeling better.

was so sleepy last night i fell asleep at 10pm on the sofa!

uwila, thanks for the link. tbh, i can't afford a night out and to pay a sitter plus i'm not keen on having sitters me and dd don't know.

hopefully going to kew later if anyone else is.......

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 08:17

eeerr I'm going to Tescos if anyone else is...

Can't walk enough to go to Kew atm.

Sue - only 38k of those hits were from me - not 55k - be fair now!

Paddle for future reference, which days can your Mum babysit - can she do Thursdays? Maby we should take turns with Thurs/Fris/Sats so everyone can attend at least sometime?

I say this in the full knowledge that I may be out of action myself for while

Sue - hope your Mum can babysit. If you come along, we're guaranteed a huge crowd!! No seriously, I think its time you and I got drunk together again

I've texted you Sue, not sure if your fleet of mobiles are working atm.

I'm officially 8 months PG today so the countdown begins here!

I've got a scan tomorrow to see whether I still have placenta previa, so keep your ovaries crossed for me girls - as I really do not want a C Section if I can avoid it. I want a Queen Charlottes active birth in one of their fab rooms with lava lamps and disco balls, birthing balls and pool

Let me know who's going to Kew so I can get jealous anyway please...

Paddlechick666 · 28/01/2007 08:38

lol @ foxie, see ya in the nappy aisle again then? i'll be off to tesco a bit later.

weds/thurs are best for me as mum is here those days.

i must lay claim to at least 12k of those hits Sue. I had to have something to do at work and some prompt to blub to keep annoying project managers away from me. they wandered off muttering things like "she's not pg again is she!" lol......

well, Kew is a bit dependent on single friend's hangover so assuming she reigned herself in last night i shall be there later.

otherwise it's Redlees Park again for us.

Foxie, best of Irish n all that tomorrow. those birthing rooms sound fab, want me to do High Energy House dance track to go with the disco ball?

Glad you're booked in now tho huh LOL!

mellownomore · 28/01/2007 09:16

Hello all,
I'm feeling myself now after a good night's sleep though I'm a bit under the weather.

I've been an absolute wreck all week with dd deciding that she's going to wake up twice a night now for milk feeds and having to go to Coventry on Monday and then Oxford on Friday. I didn't realise that I was signing up for this much travelling when I accepted the job offer.

Moan over.

Quokka,
Glad you're feeling better.

PC,
I completely understand your bfing anxieties. I'm worried myself about how I would feel when I stop bfing. I'm sure that's part of the reason I keep going.

I'm up for Fat Boys for the next meet but I've lost the thread. Could someone be kind enough to do a link for me? Thanks.

Foxie,
We were thinking of going to Kews today. We got given a Kew membership for a Christmas present but the weather is looking a bit iffy.

quokka · 28/01/2007 09:28

I hope you don't have what I've got mellow!

I have a fab babysitter at the mo. She's an Aussie and great with kids, has looked after my boys and my neighbours - and shes not expensive.

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 09:31

Mellow - don't ask me to do the link, my computer skills are mucho crappo!

Paddle - don't want to rub it in but are Fat Boys quite reasonably priced?

BTW I know this is the wrong thread [pokes tongue out]

Paddlechick666 · 28/01/2007 09:33

quokka, tell me more about your babysitter!

i really want to reclaim some of my life, just a trip to the movies would be great!

mellow, it's such an emotional issue huh. i really think i'm going to try not to bf at all tonight.

dd is 15 months now so she's been bf a lot longer than i ever imagined.

quokka · 28/01/2007 09:37

shes great, unoffical chldminder in between jobs. Has looked after her younger siblings (think there was a big age difference) and shes just a natural with kids. When she looked after my neighbours dd and they used to some over here for play dates.

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 09:39

We're usually at mass this time on a Sunday, but have decided to worship at the altar of Tesco's instead

Paddle - as a local, can you advise what time it opens on Sundays? We usually arrive at about 11am and the car park is already chocca!

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 09:40

How much do babysitters charge BTW? I've never paid for one in my life. We usually do swapsies for a bottle of wine with other Mums. I think if I paid for baby sitting I wouldn't be able to go out at all!!

Paddlechick666 · 28/01/2007 09:49

mellow here

foxie here 10am

fat boys is pretty reasonable i think.....

foxabout2pop · 28/01/2007 09:53

At the risk of being controversial and having hard objects thrown at me.......

For meet ups in future, how would people feel if some of us sometimes brought babies? (ducks and runs away very fast...)

When DS was a baby, we always used to take him to restaurants with us - in the Italian way. Pizza Express are fine about this of course. We also took him to The Refectory in Richmond (sadly closed now) and the owner used to scoop him up when the main course arrived, to "show him the kitchen" (i.e. let me enjoy my delicious main course). Also Greek restaurants love kids.

Just a thought, for Paddle, Sue, Mrs Recycle and moi in the coming months. A purely selfish thought of course!!

Would this cause a revolt?
