Roll up, roll up!

Hello! This is Sticky, with a new name (still have a finger theme going on, analyse that...)

So it's nearly Christmas!! Well it's not, but it's always good to get cocktails and curry in the diary Grin

I am going to be awkward and ask could we make it after 10th December? I hope that's not too far into the holiday/party season for those people who have places to go... just the next month is going to be tricky for me.

Do people prefer week nights or weekend nights?

Let's get this party started

Woohoo! Well done fudge. I'm easy for dates, well, probably complicated as I'll be on call in all likelihood but essentially I'll try to work my shifts around whatever date we choose.

IAmAPaleontologist · 26/10/2015 08:53

BUMP!

LeggyBlondeNE · 26/10/2015 09:39

Oo, I'm in!

karenb1978 · 26/10/2015 09:55

Hi

I could make a weekday/evening x

IAmAPaleontologist · 26/10/2015 12:10

Hurrah!

FingerOFudge · 26/10/2015 17:12

Shall I be bold and suggest a date? This is totally out of the air, just to get us started....

  • 14 December. (It's a Monday)

karenb1978 · 27/10/2015 07:30

That could work for me :)

VikingLady · 28/10/2015 05:06

I'd love to, but realistically DS won't let me.

(Not place marking at all!)

LeggyBlondeNE · 29/10/2015 09:20

That could work for me too. I will ask DH later and then put it on the calendar (which means it is Definitely Happening).

bigsnugglebunny · 29/10/2015 09:25

Hello, can anyone local join in or do I have to some sort of magnificent quest to lrove myself first? Wink

IAmAPaleontologist · 29/10/2015 10:49

We have very strict criteria bigsnuggle.

  1. Do you like cake?
  2. What is your favorite cocktail/mocktail?
  3. What naan bread would you order (very important to even out our garlic/peshwari ratios).
FingerOFudge · 29/10/2015 11:36

I think we should dream up a special cake quest for bigsnugglebunny.

If necessary, I will be the Sancho Panza to your Don Quixote. There might be a number of Sancho Panzas, in fact Wink We're all working on our Panzas...

But until that's sorted, just come and drink and eat anyway!

Bumping

Gatekeeper · 01/11/2015 19:42
  1. yes
  2. owt that's offered but probably a Manhattan
  3. peshwari
IAmAPaleontologist · 01/11/2015 21:19

Peshwari, urgh, well at least you'll keep off my garlic. I suppose we can let you in Wink

Gatekeeper · 01/11/2015 21:25

I have clean habits and know my place Grin

juneybean · 02/11/2015 19:56

Yes to 14th as long as I can show up in my work clothes?!

FingerOFudge · 03/11/2015 09:51

I'm sure that will be acceptable juney (unless you've switched careers to being a Darth Vader double, in which case it'll be hard to get the curry into your mouth. The cocktails you could probably get through a straw).

The 14th is looking quite good so far Smile

OP posts:
juneybean · 03/11/2015 14:04

Well I wasn't going to say... Wink

Gatekeeper · 03/11/2015 17:30

what work do you do Juneybean? testing suits of armour ? deep sea diving? flamenco?

bigsnugglebunny · 03/11/2015 18:16

I wrote a huge reply and then it was deleted because I have a new phone and fat fingers!

Yes, I like cake!
I'm partial to a pina colada, and I like keema and coriander naan!

I can't do the 14th December though, as I've found out that it's my daughters first nativity and I need to go and do some crying!

Gatekeeper · 03/11/2015 18:22

you can do your crying and then come out to play later? Pina colada is v good at drying up tears

twirlypoo · 03/11/2015 18:26

Ooh, can I join too? Is it in durham? I'm actually in Newcastle but prepared to travel for a night out after dark, with cocktails and curry. It would be lovely to meet some local mumsnetters and I promise I'm relatively normal and stuff hides weird shit in bag

IAmAPaleontologist · 03/11/2015 18:30

We're not normal.

You'd be welcome Smile

Gatekeeper · 03/11/2015 18:35

when I was 10 I used to visit old people living round me and play "strangers on the shore" on my clarinet. The death rate rose by 100% that year...just sayin' Wink
