Hi flakecake I'm in Gunnersbury/Acton area, and have ds1 2.5yrs and ds2 8months. Weekends are quite full but sometimes go to Gunnersbury Park and Kew Gardens. Impressed you managed to read through all of this!

Paddlechick666 · 08/10/2006 22:08

Hi FlakeCake

Welcome to the gang, I'm pretty new here too.

We're in Isleworth, I work 4 days per week but have Tuesdays off. Quite often around at weekends and generally have DH in tow.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Cheers
PC666

pudding77 · 09/10/2006 06:47

Hi flakecake! I'm new here as well but there always seems to be something going on! I have ds who's 8 months. Do you think you'll be able to join us for the night out?

fatfox · 09/10/2006 12:20

Sue - anything good arrive in the post today?

2Cute · 09/10/2006 12:59

Afternoon all - hope every1 had a fab wknd. Boy was Dublin cold...but the people were lurvly. I love the Irish DS was spoilt with attention wherever we went and he was loving it, the little poser!

Paddle - how's baby girl today? It's heart breaking when their ill because you feel so helpless. Super well done for going to work though, its not easy!

fatfox · 09/10/2006 13:09

2cute - you been to Dublin over the weekend then?

can anyone explain again, very slowly, in oneo syllable words, how to do a link? Just embarrassed myself on my ante-natal thread by trying three times and failing .

Or may be even show me by typing it, kinda thing???

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2006 13:54

FF, I just tried to ring you to "talk you thru" adding a link but it went to VM!

can you tell I'm at work today lol.

2cute, dublin sounds great. i've been once before back in the day when pubs and drinking were my only responsibility.

dd went off chuckling with the nanny this morning and hasn't stopped giggling since by all accounts . obviously i miss her much more than she misses me

ah well, boss is back so back to it!

PC666

fatfox · 09/10/2006 17:51

PC - Did you call at about 2pm ish? I was driving to Queen Charlottes. Am home now, playing on PC though

fatfox · 09/10/2006 17:52

oh yeah - I see it was 1.52ish !

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/10/2006 18:01

NEXT MONDAY, the letter is arriving NEXT MONDAY!

and it isn;t actually an actual letter they telex a secret code kinda thing directly to the Embassy meaning that th letter has been "virtually" issued.

How was your appt at QC's?

fatfox · 09/10/2006 18:19

Sue - Oh OK - all sounds a bit cloak and dagger doesn't it? So you've another week to hang in suspense!!

Thanks for asking: Had a proper scan this morning at QC (thanks to my complaint last week). There is no bleed from either the placenta or the baby and s/he is the correct size for dates, so that was great news. All looks well in the sack.

Then I had to find out whether I have cervical erosion and whether that's what's causing the bleed. The 12 year old I saw in casualty last week said I don't have it...

Met my dishy Consultant. Felt slightly sheepish about demanding he examine my holiest of holies. Anyway the outcome is that he says I deffo have cervical erosion, so can expect a bleed now and then and can happily enjoy my pregnancy, without having a nervous breakdown each time a spot of blood appears. Was also desperate for a fart but managed to contain myself while he examined me

Only slight worry is they say its their "policy to induce at 38 weeks" for women my "age". I felt like saying, "like feck you'll induce at 38 weeks!", but will save that battle for later on in the pregnancy, as I didn't want to spoil a good day

Sue, how is Limbo land, you poor thing?

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/10/2006 18:46

thats excellent news Foxie, should be illegal to have dishy gynae's. Was he married - you could pass him on to me... (Congratulations on holding off on the fart btw )

Am getting quite used to limbo land thank you and on the upside, knitting like fury!

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2006 18:51

hey FF, next time you're trying to figure it out give me a call and I'll talk you thru it.

glad scan went well and you've got some answers, very impressed with ability to control fart. obviously you have been doing your pelvic floor excercises.

well dd was supposed to be home by 6:30ish but is running late - i am missing my girl! have done all jobs around house so am waffling here to occupy myself

sj, i don't understand all this red tape but i surely hope and pray that you're thru it soon and winging your way to bringing your ds/dd home.

PC666

fatfox · 09/10/2006 18:58

PC could call a bit later (must feed monsters a snackette now and get them to sleep).

What's a good time for you, when DD is alseep and DP not demanding anything ?

Paddlechick666 · 09/10/2006 20:28

how about 9ish? dd will deffo be snoozing by then, she had a wonderful day with nanny!

dh has had "demanding" knocked out of him tbh LOL. he's happy with a stubbie and a poker game!

heading up to get dd snoozing now.

can't be long at 9 tho - Life Begins last episode - sad chick that I am!

hmmm, where's the wolfblass now.........

;-)

2Cute · 10/10/2006 00:04

FF - Great news on the scan Do NOT let them induce you. I had to be induced at 38 wks due to severe pre-eclampsia and it was friggin paaaainfull! My labour was a bit out of the ordinary as I'm guessing not all inductions take 3 attempts of sticking something up "there" to get things going! Must admit that West Mid did treat me like a queen, they were scared I was going to die on them!

Pudding - I've been wanting to start yoga classes for yonks now but there's not many good yoga teachers that I've heard of so would love to get details of where you go

Good night all x

MrsBigD · 10/10/2006 00:13

blimey, gone for anohter 4 days and it took me ages to read all the posts again

Welcome FlakeCakes, I'm in West Ealing with ds 2 and dd 4.10, weekends we seem to have tonnes of birthday parties to go to for the next few weeks... argh

SJ virtual letter? Woohay! Vive la technologie!

FF glad to hear you're finally getting 'proper' attention

Anything I forgot... sorry, jsut got back from my brother's wedding in Munich and kids fell asleep on flight back, great you'd think, not when you find out that your buggy has gone to baggage claims and you seem to be at the gate furthest away from it ladden with 3 bags and 2 sleeping kids...

OP posts:
fatfox · 10/10/2006 08:30

PC666 - sorry I didn't call last nigt - fell asleep at 9pm!!!! What time do you finish work? I could maybe call around 6pm, or whatever is best 4 U?

fatfox · 10/10/2006 08:32

2cute - thanks for the advice - have heard some real horror stories about inductions leading to emergency C's etc so will avoid at all costs. Am taking classes in "how to be arsey" at the mo'!

Hi MrsBigD - still fancy doing lunch one day? Where about's in W Ealing do you work, roughly?

pudding77 · 10/10/2006 08:41

2cute - the yoga is just at Brentford leisure centre, Fri evenings 7-8.30pm. It's £6.50 but I think if you're a member it's cheaper.

FF - glad everything's ok and stick to your guns!!

quokka · 10/10/2006 09:10

FF QC inisted that I be induced with ds2 and I refused, thay can't make you do anything so stand your ground .

SJ your nearly there!

Right must go and finish sewing other curtain as it's getting cold and I only have one side hanging! (for about 2 months)

Paddlechick666 · 10/10/2006 09:36

no prob FF, a mate had called so was on phone at 9ish anyway.

6ish isn't too good as it's generally supper/bath time. how about during the day sometime on Wednesday?

as for induction, i was threatened with that due to Gestational Diabetes but went into spontaneous labour at 35+6 so.....

my friend went 3 weeks over and just kept cancelling her induction appointments lol. eventually she was going to keep the MOnday one but her dd arrived on the Saturday.

it's a while away yet, don't stress now. see how things are going closer to the time.

welcome back BigD.

PC666

MrsBigD · 10/10/2006 09:50

I got induced being 2 weeks over with waters broken and no activity, and... ended up with emergency c-section, because obviously dd didn't want to come out, hence hadn't gone into labour. If no immediate risk to baby I would try and avoid induction, as it was not a pleasant experience at all and I was shattered for ages. Not wanting to scare you just my experience .

FF I work Pitshanger Lane Lunch sounds good, not week 23/9 though as I'll be on my lonesome in the office and holding up the fort so to speak - read: bored out of my brain and spending way too much time on mn and surfing the net.

BTW can somebody confirm 1/2 term is week 23/9? I need to book my mother's flight and forgot to bring dd's Term sheet in to make sure I book right dates

OP posts:
pudding77 · 10/10/2006 09:56

MrsBigD - I'm pretty sure that that week is half-term, we're going away then & were wondering why the flights were a bit more expensive!

2Cute · 10/10/2006 12:49

BigD - How was the wedding? Details.... All ok on the home front now? It'll be nice to get our DSs together sometime soon seeing as they're so close in age, maybe at the Cbeebies show if you're busy between now and then.

This nursery searching is stressing me out...am I being over the top in worrying about where my baby's going to cared for & educated or is it normal to be so picky? Everywhere I've been so far is either too much free play and very little learning or totally regimental that you'd think their training an army! Sorry for the waffle, just needed to get it out of my system.
