SW London - any mums out there? I'm new and would like to meet a few other moms in the area

Hi there

I've just recently signed up with mumsnet and am keen to meet any other moms in the South West area. I scrolled down the topics board and noticed that there was a meet-up in March. Please could you let me know if there are any others scheduled?

Many thanks

15th is fine for me too. Quite like that Breton place near the Odeon but not sure what it would be like for a group.

willow2 · 15/04/2004 23:54

I'm up for it - Breton place might be a bit short on space if we all turn up! Strada or Cafe Mamma might have a party room we could take over. Any other thoughts?

Bouj · 16/04/2004 10:03

15th is good for me - not fussed on where, as long as I can find it! Strada sounds good.

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 10:07

15th good for me, don't care where we go!

fisil · 16/04/2004 11:23

I missed this for several days - whoops. Shall I book Strada in Richmond for 15th May then? Shall we say 7:30 for 8?

I will book tonight, and I will say 10 people - that way at least I've booked and we can finalise numbers later.

I'm in a rush now, but I will come back later on and list who I think are definite yes and who we still need to hear from.

pollingfold · 16/04/2004 11:55

15th fine for me, pregnant so driving there anyway, can take 4 others in car, so far got Bouj, Fisil and pamina3. one more for wimbledon area?

ZolaPola · 16/04/2004 12:28

Hi. Also new to the site and will be new to SW of London (well, Windsor) as plan to move in May
along with my boisterous 3 yr old and 2 lazy cats
(cross fingers as not yet exchanged).
Any others out there in the Windsor area? Might be on for night out too if moved by then... As
such a new member though haven't yet "talked" to anyone - is anyone else really out there online on such a sunny day?

Heathcliffscathy · 16/04/2004 12:37

count me in

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 13:11

I seem to remember Strada don't take bookings in Richmond (or am I wrong? maybe they do for larger parties)

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 13:17

I think that the one I was on about before is Cafe Azzurro in the Square in Richmond - it is very similar to Strada in Menu and is pretty huge so we wouldn't have a prob getting a table, if Strada don't take bookings.

Heathcliffscathy · 16/04/2004 13:25

CD, i think you're right, in the main i think strada don't take bookings, but maybe for big groups?

tayroo · 16/04/2004 16:52

Fisil, please book 2 places for me as I'm going to drag a friend along as well.

Right, I have the following definite yes:

fisil
tayroo (x2)
sophable
pollingford
CountessDracula
Bouj
willow2
bettys
pamina3

I have yet to hear from:

NQWWW
emmatmg
wilbur
bossykate
vivat (but I guess we'll accept her excuse ...)
clucks
ffion
sofiaames
madgirl
kaz33
pie
stressyhead
happyspider

and from the provinces:
coddy
pph
beety

I will have a ring around now and see what I can book.

fisil · 16/04/2004 19:03

Strada will book, but the table has to be for 7p.m. or earlier. Shall I try elsewhere?

wilbur · 16/04/2004 19:13

I could have sworn I'd replied to this - Saturday 15th is fine for me, happy to do 7pm (means I can duck out of bath and bedtime, ha ha!) but whatever suits is fine.

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 19:22

7 too early really (though would get me out of bedtime )

How about that other Azzurro place, I've been there once it seemed identical to strada!

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 19:22

has anyone else been there?
I think I've got the right place

bossykate · 16/04/2004 19:38

will check with dh. hope no-one minds if i leave early-ish, i'm usually weeping with fatigue by 10.00pm latest these days...

fisil · 16/04/2004 19:41

will be great if you can come. My bedtime is usually 9, so I'll be staying up too!

fisil · 16/04/2004 20:20

Right, Caffe Azzurro booked for 8p.m. on May 15th.

I'm afraid I chickened out of leaving fisil as my name when I booked the table, so you will have to give my real first name. It starts with the same two letters as fisil - that makes it obvious, doesn't it?

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 20:22

Fisil you chicken! You should have said Countess Dracula

Oh god I hope it's the right place, will have to nip into Richmond tomorrow to check

willow2 · 16/04/2004 20:24

What square in Richmond? I'm really confused now!

fisil · 16/04/2004 20:26

by the look of the map you come out of the station, turn right and then when the road forks it will be right in front of you. Near Monsoon?

CountessDracula · 16/04/2004 20:26

It's that bit that isn't a square at all but is called one

Hang on it's here Hope that works

It's a triangle in fact.

fisil · 16/04/2004 20:29

lol CD - didn't think of that. I'm still smarting from the last time. I asked for "Bett - eeezz" but he didn't understand, so I said "Bett - eee - sss" and he didn't get it. Eventually he helped me out with "are you with betty?" Right. So I could just imagine a whole evening of people turning up saying "feeezil" "fizzle" "fyesal" etc.

As it was when I gave my name he said "Ah that's a beautiful name, a beautiful name" Where's ffion? She should come too so that we can both get wooed by the waiter!
