just to get back to the original topic here!!!!!!!!

I intend to order 1st course take-away/delivery for DH and I from Escale and then when dd is snoring around 8:30-9pm I'll jump in the car and join you for pud.

Just in case you didn't notice on other threads - we found our Nanny!!!!

quokka · 02/10/2006 21:00

FF I'm sure he could I'll email you his number. He's brilliant and very genuine . Have reccomended him to lots of people should have offered earlier!

PC congrats on the nanny - is she an aussie?

fatfox · 02/10/2006 21:41

Quokka - brill - thanks

suejoneziscalmernow · 03/10/2006 10:53

I had fab Polish builders and a rubbish polish plumber so who knows...

Uwila · 03/10/2006 20:49

Oh yes. Tell us about the nanny. I can't believe I missed this. Are you sharing (saw another thread about this a few minutes ago). And what about you Sue, are you looking for a nannyshare. Not that I'm sharing, just beingnosey. I have boat loads of advice for new nanny employers. Feel free to call on me.

suejoneziscalmernow · 03/10/2006 23:35

Fatfox has fixed me up with her CM who has a space from Jan/Feb ish 3 days a week, my mum will do one day (hoping she's up to it).

All I need now is for Foxie to fix me up with her brother/friend/cousin...

Paddlechick666 · 04/10/2006 07:12

I could fix you up with my brother SJ but me-thinks you may not be that desperate LOL.

;-)

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 09:37

But everyone thinks their brother is rubbish and unfanciable - its part of the brother/sister thing. Bet he'll do me just fine.

Not asking for much - tall, handsome, intelligent, funny, preferably rich but would make do with comfortably off with a wierd penchant for overweight middle aged accountants who play bridge.

fatfox · 04/10/2006 11:30

Sue - My brother is lovely, but quite short and has Downs Syndrome!

Hmmm, most of the blokes I know have either been snapped up, or there's someting a bit odd about them

I have a male friend who has lots of single male friends, but most of them seem to be either impotent (! - or so I've been told by girlfriends who've tried them) or are middle class drop outs, who don't have proper jobs!!

Men friends at work?.... well men who work in the same fields as me (housing assocations) are really the most unsexy type of man!!!!

I know loads of lovely women but not many decent men really. I do know a really nice bloke who met his wife through an advert in the back of a newspaper though (she's a bit wierd, but he's lovely - has a stammer though).

Speed dating?

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 11:42

I really can't be doing with speed dating - don;t think I have the self-esteem issue. I think we should recirculate the reasonable men. I have a few ex's who are quite nice and at least one not married - living in Uzbekistan is a bit of a drawback though. Might be worth throwing him into the pot if we have some kind of bring and buy sale for unattached men, seems a shame to waste a reasonably decent one. He's a little antisocial though (which did for us in the end) as his ideal life would be sitting on the side of a hill farm in france raising deer with not a person to be seen.

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 11:43

of course that should say "don't think I have the self-esteem FOR IT"

fatfox · 04/10/2006 12:21

Sue - PMSL!!!! Actually, when we're honest, there's probably something odd or wrong about most men isn't there ?

Lke the idea of the recycling though!

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 15:06

do you know, I thought it was just my imagination that there seems to be something wrong with most men!! Decided I was being a bitter singleton, which I'm not really (bitter that is, patently obviously am single!)

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 15:08

the ex in uzbekistan vies with my brother to buy me most crap present ever. Brother is currently in the lead with a felt bunny door stop dressed in full tyrolean costume complete with little shopping bag with plastic cabbage.

Paddlechick666 · 04/10/2006 15:48

OH SERIOUSLY ROTFLMAO at that bunny SJ!

As for my bro, he actually buys some really random presents which are actually quite cool, mostly! He does sometimes completely miss the mark tho, he bought me a plug in "animated picture" of a fish tank once...........

I do love him but boy, he can be VERY eccentric.

There is something a little odd about all blokes I agree. There are times I'd definately call a penis a birth defect TBH.

PC666

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 15:59

the bunny got mysteriously lost in my last house move - along with the floral doormat present.

pudding77 · 04/10/2006 16:57

It seems I have a vaguely normal brother - we usually just get a decent bottle of wine!

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 17:01

i always give him small cheap suggestions (they don;t have much cash) which are foolproof - named brand body wash hat kind of thing. But they always have to get me a lovely surprise. Tis actually very sweet of them but am running out of ways to say... "Gosh, how...unusual. I'll no-one else has one of those... in green"

pudding77 · 04/10/2006 17:06

that's quite sweet really, unless you're on the receiving end of course!

By the way sj, I've had a bit of a tidy up and have some baby bottles & a trainer cup if you're interested? I don't know how old your child is so don't know if they will be useful or not.

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 17:19

I don;t know how old my child is either! Hopefully will in a few weeks so if you can hang onto them I will let you know. I do have some bottles so probably not likely to need more but will have to leave som eat y mums too so don't really know yet.

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 18:53

Foxie - how are you? How was visit to GP?

fatfox · 04/10/2006 19:20

Sue

GP was great - we agreed I have urinary infection - which is why my lower abdomen feels so tender and sore.

Regarding the blood, he has faxed over a referral to QC ante-natal for a scan and told me to call them tomorrow to make sure they're on to it. Listened to my anti NHS rant as well

He explained that up to 12 weeks the hospital will see you, but only 'cos they're scared you may have an ectopic pregnancy and die on them. Then after 20 weeks they'll see you because if anything happens, they might be able to save the baby. When you are 12-18 weeks, you are merely another gyneology patient to them.

Charming eh?

Uwila · 04/10/2006 23:08

Ugh.. that statistical crap pisses me off to no end. What ever happened to treating you like a human being because you are their patient?

suejoneziscalmernow · 04/10/2006 23:21

who is your gp out of interest, ff?

MrsBigD · 05/10/2006 11:12

I'm back amonst the 'living'

So who's on for Escale on 19th and cna somebody jog my memory whether I or somebody has booked the table???
