My point precisely!

backtoxoxoxo · 18/10/2006 18:36

Nanouooooooo: come - let us be like hookers on street corner in Richmond again!!

We should organise the evening thus:
stage 1: hellos (and who the hell are yous - name tags super idea) MrsBig Cheekbones reigns supreme at this bit
stage 2: alcohol
stage 3: food : minor/brief distraction from alcohol
stage 4: alcohol; aren't all men shit talk
stage 5: alcohol: aren't all women great talk
stage 6: puddings (reverent silence to enjoy chocolate) and alcohol
that's it

unless you know better......

still haven't changed my name

backtoxoxoxo · 18/10/2006 18:39

2cute: slight chance dh will be late tmrw so I'll call you and let you know if you should go straight to restaurant rather than mess you around.

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 18/10/2006 18:44

oxo you forgot a point for 'doesn't work suck' talk accompanied by copious amounts of alcohol

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 18/10/2006 19:09

.. and No 7, drunken "did you know, my DD/DS is soooooooooo clever/wonderful/talented" talk

lemonAIIEEE · 18/10/2006 19:34

SJ wins on the basis that hers can speak Russian . Unless I can teach DS to say "Zdravstvuyte" by tomorrow (hmm, might have more luck with "Da")...

backtoxoxoxo · 18/10/2006 20:18

MrsB(etc): sorry, am sahm so 'work'- at least in the clean clothes, hours away from smelly snotty kids- sense anyway, is an alien concept!!. But you working mums can add that section of the evening.
and alcohol...

pumpkinpud · 18/10/2006 20:39

I can join in with the sahm work side of things oxo!

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 18/10/2006 21:28

can we have Stage 8 bitch and moan about dh's ex and constant access/money battle over skids?

the bad news for me is that dd has only just gone to bed which is unheard of.

she has been asleep by 8:30pm for last several months and this week began by going off at 7:30pm and tonight hung on till 9:30pm.

bushed!

2Cute · 18/10/2006 23:18

Oxo - was just about to email you saying DH might be home a little later than expected and just read your post saying the same! I should be able to pick you up by 7 at the latest. Txt me to let me know if that suits ya.

Looking 4ward to seeing every1

quokka · 19/10/2006 08:44

Boowila that vicks stuff is fantastic! It has really stop my cold dead in its tracks! Still have a slightly sore throat but feeling ok. Will see how I feel in a couple of hours but am dying to get out of the house as dh has been away for 4 days.

hauntedvillas · 19/10/2006 08:53

Can one of you lovely people remind me what time we are meeting at? One is not as organised as one used to be

Need to decide whether to travel straight from work - or from home. The possibility of some quick late-night shopping in Richmond also appeals

May I please sit in the whinging corner? I will only need a small whinge. Have been up for over 2 hours during the night with dd who threw an appalling tantrum lasting over an hour and a half - was upset because she had woken up and was thrashing around the cot, banging her head etc etc. Is this normal? I must say it was rather alarming at the time. She is 21 months old so perhaps it is just age-related? Off now to search for some sort of night light.

Roll on tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lemonAIIEEE · 19/10/2006 09:01

7, I think.

Oooh, late night shopping! I hadn't thought of that...

sfxmum · 19/10/2006 09:02

the table is booked for 7.

my dd, 16.5m has also been having having some dreadful sleep. for about a week she would wake up screaming and was inconsolable, it was scary and it took ages to settle. since then i have been reading about night terrors. apparently quite normal

hauntedvillas · 19/10/2006 09:07

Thanks for the responses! Night terrors are frightening - for everyone! - but last night was not a night terror but more extreme frustration at being awake (I know the feeling )

Hope the restaurant is dark enough for the shopping bags beneath my eyes to be successfully camoflauged (spelling!!!)

sfxmum · 19/10/2006 09:27

yes since having dd i have invested in some make up but still it shows....
tantrums during the night! something to lookforward to

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 19/10/2006 10:00

i'm hoping to get there by 9pm latest, earlier if at all poss.

last night dd threw all normality out the window and didn't go off till 9pm. having been tucked up by 7:30pm the previous night. she's full of cold tho.

know the whole "i woke myself up by banging my head and now I'm extremely ticked off" routine too. Solved by putting dd in travel cot (fabric walls!).

anyways, will get there when i can but please save me a seat at the "pissed off I want to moan" end.

Topics I will cover are:

DH - generally being rubbish
DH's ex - generally being physcho
Work - total lack of support and information regarding my recent return from mat leave

I will then move to cheerful end of table and discuss:

Nanny - lovely lovely lovely nanny
DD - lovely lovely lovely super clever gorgeous daughter
DH - despite being crap i still love him

ps: what's make up then?
pps: note to self, remember Dr Who cards for FF's ds

sfxmum · 19/10/2006 10:04

i said i bought it not that use it
most days i don't even brush my hair

work after mat leave is still sore with me i really feel betrayed as i much rather dh and i went 50/50 as planned - {oh stop no more ranting}

MadameMedela · 19/10/2006 10:44

YIPPEEEE - I got 6 hours continuous sleep last night so will be able to come tonight. Ds1 slept from 9pm to 3am so hopefully tonight dh will only have to give him one bottle of EBM before he notices me missing.

Nanou sorry you are feeling down - please come, I was looking forward to catching up with you.

Am going to be off-line now but see you all around 7pm ish.

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 19/10/2006 10:44

oh it's going to be so much fun tonight

Don't worry Fizwhiz will secure chair for you with your nametag

quokka · 19/10/2006 11:07

Sorry guys I think I was kidding myself this morning after a couple of hours of chasing the lo's around and dh saying that he may not be home till 8pm, I have decided its not meant to be . Have a few drinks and pudding for me!

Boowila · 19/10/2006 11:08

Yippe! Medela is coming! Don't have to kill MrMedela.

Fizwiz, let's chat about nannies. I want to hear all about yours. Mine is good too, but I'll be on the nanny hunt again in a few months (due to visa running out).

Boowila · 19/10/2006 11:09

Awww... poor Quokka. We'll miss you.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 19/10/2006 11:19

Poor Quoks Get betta soon

Geewizzfizz - I'll join in the DH is crap conversations; not sure about the "but I love him" bit though.

ps the Dr Who cards Whizzy refers to are for DS, not for me

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 19/10/2006 11:20

Who am I taking tonight???

MrsBigD - yes
