Welcome to Mumsnet

I know there are some MNers down that way.

intergalacticwalrus · 17/09/2006 11:31

Hello OHM, I am in Bath if that's any good.

I have one DS of 21 months and another who is 11 days old, bless him.

busybusymum · 17/09/2006 15:18

Hi I'm in Swindon and have 4 children from ages 5 to 11 years. 2DD's and 2DS's

onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 14:27

Hi there intergalacticwalrus

I used to work in Bath and lived there for a while. So, is the transition from new mum, to new mum with a new baby.....easier or harder that you imagined????

Don't usually get to Bath now. Whether that's because it reminds me of work or the London Road nightmare, is hard to tell!!!

Hubby works in Bath. Future Publishing! I'd be surprised if you said you didn't know at least one person from that company!!!

Hi busy busy mum - and you sound it!!!!!!!
I usually head over your way at the weekends for some retail therapy. Devizes is not exactly thriving with shops.

Does Swindon have a yearly carnival? And do you know when it is?

OP posts:
intergalacticwalrus · 18/09/2006 14:43

OHM, funnily enough, I don;t actually know anyone from Future (I only know a couple of ex employees)

My DP works for Concept Publishing.

onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 15:03

Am I surprised but then you did say you knew ex employees so that counts!!
I used to work at Future too but left to have ds about two and a half years ago and didn't go back.
What does DP do in publishing? I used to work in production.

intergalacticwalrus · 18/09/2006 15:05

DP works in sales. I used to work in production at Concept too.

Scary parallel world type thing going on

I left there to wear long skirts and fanny around playing the cello, only I got pregnant within about a month of leaving! I do still fanny about playing the cello though

Medulla · 18/09/2006 15:08

I live in Cyprus but I come from Wiltshire and regularly travel back to Calne. I have a 3 year old DD and a 1 year old DS. Home in October if anyone fancies meeting up!

onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 15:32

Oh my god!!
My hubby (what's the abbrev for that?)works in sales too!!! Hee hee how odd!!

Glad I'm out of production too. Was very stressy job. Prefer looking after a toddler than that!!!

OP posts:
onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 15:35

hi medulla

when in october are you back?

OP posts:
intergalacticwalrus · 18/09/2006 16:40

Yes, I hated production too, aminly because my boss was a nobby David Brent a like, who would come out with shite like "You need to look at the whole pie, not bits of the pie" and suchlike.

Much prefer life as a failed muso.

Medulla · 18/09/2006 16:41

From around teh 6/7th until around the 23rd ish. Haven't booked flights yet, will be doing so in a couple of days so can be more specific then!

intergalacticwalrus · 18/09/2006 16:42

Medulla · 18/09/2006 16:44

Got to admit it does beat Swindon!! but I still miss it!

onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 17:29

So do you work at all now? I teach aerobics in the evenings and looking to go back to work in November for a couple of mornings a wk. First time ds in a nursey so bricking it!!!

OP posts:
onehappymummy · 18/09/2006 17:30

medulla - what made you move to Cyprus then? And how long have you lived there?

OP posts:
Medulla · 18/09/2006 20:07

We've been here since January, we're with the RAF

busybusymum · 18/09/2006 21:01

Hi onehappymummy

I'm not sure if Swindon has a yearly carnival. The town centre is trying to do more things and often has a programme of events especially throughout the school holidays. I know that the different area within swindon have carnivals (for example Old Town have one in july.) There are more I'm sure !
