Anybody working in or living in/near the city (London) fancy a meet-up on Friday May 7th.

Suggested venue is The Spitz Bistro, 109 Commercial St E1 (in Spitalfields). Not been myself but am told this is a reasonably child friendly venue.

So far :- Me plus ds2 (almost 3), Thomcat plus dd (2)

Anyone else ?

Me and possibly DS2 (aged two years and 8 months) if I decide he can twag off nursery!

Blu · 31/03/2004 15:04

Oooh, that could be a possibility, if I'm not going on hol that day.

Twinkie · 31/03/2004 15:09

I'll come but DD will be at school and her father is picking her up so I can't even feign over night sickness bug and keep her off!! he he he as if I would!!

vivat · 02/04/2004 11:25

Kayleigh - hopefully it will be warm enough so you can sit outside (well inside the covered market IYSWIM), so kids can be really really noisy. Otherwise still child friendly inside. Alternative is the Barcelona tapas place also inside the market which being Spanish, is also v child friendly.

Will try and make it but given 7th May is my due date, may have to pull out at last minute !

Kayleigh · 06/04/2004 11:26

Bump..... c'mon there must be some other mumsnetters in/near the city....

OP posts:
dinosaur · 06/04/2004 11:31

Yes, come on chaps, you don't have to work near here - it's an easy journey for anyone who lives in E1/E2/E5/E8/E9 for example!

Blu · 06/04/2004 11:36

I AM going on hol that day....and will hopefully sampling genuine Barcelona tapas!Sorry to miss you all.

Kayleigh · 06/04/2004 11:37

Will let you off Blu
But you HAVE to come next time !

dinosaur · 06/04/2004 15:08

Excellent Peamo!

Kayleigh · 06/04/2004 15:29

Debbiethemum · 06/04/2004 16:48

Would love to come with ds(nearly 3) and d?(3 weeks by then) depending on c-section scar and if mother is staying or not. How much notice would you need?

dinosaur · 06/04/2004 16:52

Just let us know that week - post a message on here. I do hope you can come!

excel · 06/04/2004 17:00

I'd love to come along. I work in the city but have Friday's off so could easily make the journey with DS(2). Unfortunatly I'm on holiday but if you have another one count me in.

Kayleigh · 06/04/2004 18:53

excel, we meet up for lunch or just a quick coffee every couple of weeks, usually mid week. Please join us next time you see a City Slickers meet-up.

Thomcat · 07/04/2004 13:08

well done kayleigh

excel · 07/04/2004 13:50

Thanks Kayleigh
I'd like to come along to the next city meet up. I've been a lurker for a while and very nearly posted to come along to the last meet up but got cold feet. Silly really.

Kayleigh · 07/04/2004 14:40

excel you must come to the next one. We are a really nice bunch
I am having a city mumsnetter recruitment drive as I am the only one out of the group that meet regularly who isn't pregnant. They are all going off on mat leave soon and I'll have no-one to play with

Please don't tell me you're pregnant too !

OP posts:
madgirl · 07/04/2004 15:12

excel, can't believe you got cold feet, we are all very normal (sorry everyone, but you know what i mean )
we are very good at puddings as well! i sadly can't make the 7th may as i will be at elvedon centerparcs (sorry - too much information) but i will def be there for the next one, bumping kayleigh with my bump

kaz33 · 07/04/2004 15:18

Mmmm - theres me as well, not pregnant. Excel, I haven't yet made it to a Mumsnet meet up and am also a bit shy of the idea. But tell you what if I go then you won't be the only newbie.

Also day before my holiday in Italy so I can show off my fake tan I'm getting done and annoy you talking about the delights of Tuscany

excel · 07/04/2004 15:44

OK kaz33 its a deal.
Although I can't make the 7th May. I'm on holiday in Jamaica
I will go to the next one on the 21st April. I'll reply on Kayleigh's new thread.

No I'm not pregnant so you have me as a new recruit for some time.

madgirl, now I've posted I feel silly to have left it so long. You have all been so welcoming. Thanks.

Kayleigh · 07/04/2004 15:50

ooh lots of new NON PREGNANT friends. Happy, happy, happy

OP posts:
hackneymum · 13/04/2004 14:22

I'm new too - but would love to come along with my ds (one and a half). What time are you all meeting?

Kayleigh · 13/04/2004 14:26

thanks hackneymum, just realised there was no time on my first post. Let's say 12:30. I will book table nearer the time when I have a better idea of numbers. Will be great to meet you.

Can anyone that needs a high chair (for their child)let me know and I can ask when I make booking.

Metrobaby · 13/04/2004 14:34

Hi everyone - I doubt that I'll be able to make it as I reckon I might have trouble sitting down after the birth, but have a pud on me
