Anybody working in or living in/near the city (London) fancy a meet-up on Friday May 7th.

Suggested venue is The Spitz Bistro, 109 Commercial St E1 (in Spitalfields). Not been myself but am told this is a reasonably child friendly venue.

So far :- Me plus ds2 (almost 3), Thomcat plus dd (2)

Anyone else ?

Twinkie · 13/04/2004 15:57

How are you - are you feeling ok??

Bouj · 14/04/2004 15:59

Count me in! Will love to meet you all. xxoxo

karen99 · 20/04/2004 22:01

Hi Kayleigh! I'm not working in the City any more but live along the Met Line so Spitalfields should be easy enough to get to (funnily enough I haven't been to it before!). Just got to check the diary but count ds & me in (highchair needed as 10mo). Will talk to you more on Friday (Willows).

FranWalsh · 22/04/2004 22:34

I'm new and I'm up for the 7th May - just tell me where and when! I will be bringing my 1 yr old so will need high chair and a wide berth, obviously. Not sure how this forum works so give me as many details as you can.

karen99 · 23/04/2004 08:01

Hi FranWalsh! And Welcome!

The MN meetups are good fun. It's strange at first meeting people you TALK to and have no idea who they are but somehow get to know them and then when you meet up, well, I'll leave you to find out!

MN is a great site and I'm sure you'll enjoy finding your way round it. See you on the 7th.

Kayleigh · 27/04/2004 15:16

Have phoned the restaurant and they only have ONE highchair !!! Although guy I spoke to was really friendly and said he often had a group of mums in that sit on the terrace with their kids in buggies. Plenty of room, but not undercover. Would you those that wanted a high chair be happy for your little one to eat in his/her buggy? If so I need to confirm early next week as so far I have about 14 of us and so will need to give a deposit to secure table. Otherwise need to find alternative venue.

So far I think we have :-

me & ds2 2.10
thomcat & dd 2 (needs highchair)
dinosaur and ds2 2.8 (needs highchair?)
peamo & ds 8wks
hackneymum & ds 1.6 (needs highchair)
karen99 &ds 10m (needs highchair)
franwalsh & d? 1 (needs highchair)
kaz33
twinkie
turnagaincat
bouj

(and a couple of possibles)
debbiethemum & ds3 plus 3 wk baby (not definite)
vivat & ds

If I've left anyone out I apologise, and please speak up !

Wish I could come, can't I'm busy

Kaz33 · 27/04/2004 15:39

Decided to take that Friday off, so won't be able to make it. Have a good lunch.

karen99 · 27/04/2004 18:49

Hi Kayleigh, unfortunately I can't confirm 100% until Friday, but hopefully that fits in with your 'early next week' booking. Will let you know asap.

Evita · 27/04/2004 21:42

I'd be interested to join you too. I know the Spitz pretty well and thought that the terraced area WAS undercover. My dd is 18 months. Will let you know for definite closer to the day.

bunnyrabbit · 28/04/2004 12:50

Can I come too.... minus DS?

BR

OldieMum · 28/04/2004 12:52

If I have to be London that day, I'd like to come. I'll know by the end of the week.

Hello all,

I'm another non-pregnant newbie who'd like to bring along my 4 month old (in the sling and hopefully asleep!) if I may. My friend 'Countess Dracula' pointed me in your direction - she's met up with Dinosaur and Kayleigh.
I'm based up in Dalston (E8) and coming to the end of maternity leave alas, but it would be lovely to meet you all.

Twinkie · 29/04/2004 14:28

Cross cause can't come have my scan that day - was going to try and change it to the next week but DP freaked - he wants it sooner rather than later and its not to be!!

Have fun and hope all of you are OK XXX

Kayleigh · 29/04/2004 15:44

Twinkie, we are going to start thinking you are avoiding us

aelita, would be great to meet you. Any friend of the Countess etc etc....

Dino, you may come alone. But so you don't feel left out I will magnanimously let you have sole charge of my ds2 while I chill (Ps have contacted you via another talker - hope that's ok - a question about saturday)

Kayleigh · 29/04/2004 15:46

Hurrah! Well done aelita - have been looking out for your post. Hope you make it and have a lovely time xxx

frogs · 29/04/2004 19:38

Hi everybody

Would love to come, but will be too busy preparing for dd2's baptism party on the Saturday. Shall be thinking of you very jealously as I slave away in the kitchen...

Aelita -- I'm in Dalston with a 4-month old too, would be good to meet you another time!

aelita · 29/04/2004 19:55

Frogs, that would be great! Just let me know how/when you want to proceed...

karen99 · 03/05/2004 21:25

Hi Kayleigh, I really hate to say that I can't make this friday after all. Ds & I went to a new baby signing class last Fri and loved it so I'm now busy Friday lunch times! arggh in one respect but great in another. Will definitely try and make the next one.
Hope this hasn't messed up figures. Let me know if I owe you anything.

frogs · 03/05/2004 21:41

Aelita -- meet up the week following 8th May? Midmorning, Tchibo in Dalston shopping centre? Pretty naff, I know, but until Starbucks make it to E8...
