I'm bored so here's a new thread to organise our August meet-up

Uwila suggested
10 August or
24 August

I can do 24th

Forgot to mention, I'm veggie as well.

Keeps me young looking....

Uwila · 20/08/2006 10:09

The only thing I can think of that's perhaps missing is tortilla chips for the variety of dips, unless that's wht you meant by "nachos". To me, nachos are a plate of spread out tortilla chipa with cheese, jalepeno peppers, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and sometimes meat all melted together with more cheese.

Also, could we do a veg platter for those of us whou would like low fat dipping options?

I could bring salsa and veg tray (celery, carrots, etc.)

Oh, what about non-alcoholic drinks?

And what time does this Chili soiree kick off?

xoxoxo · 20/08/2006 14:54

fatfox
don't worry about monday, I was going to that duke st thing anyway so it really is no problem.
I am around on 30th August and 1st Sept so if anyone is up for marble hill park or pembroke lodge then let me know.

What is this thread's obsession with boobs? Maybe you should start an x rated thread? I say this with the cocky assurance of one who is endowed with more than my fair share.

I'll make a pudding if you like. Cheesecake ok?

CountessDracula · 20/08/2006 16:10

(i have a tin that will make one big enough for 12 I think)

suejonez · 20/08/2006 16:54

No Fatfox, correct response was "indeed SJ you too are young looking and very attractive". DUH!!

suejonez · 20/08/2006 16:59

CD - cheesecake sounds yum but don;t tell the BigMoFo's I said so

Uwila - nacho, tortilla chips whatever (I'm English thay all sound the same to me)

So I still need someone to volunteer to either cook some rice or some baked potatoes before I have to rope my mum in to help

Still required

Baked potatoes/rice
Tortilla Chips
grated cheese
Sour cream
pint of milk
Fresh coriander (for garnish, so we can do without if necessary)

I'll provide diet coke and lemon squash but I drink water from the tap so if you're a mineral grl bring your own.

quokka · 21/08/2006 11:21

SJ if you get stuck I can always do some baked potatos for you as well.

MrsJohnCusack · 21/08/2006 11:23

I can do baked potatoes as I'll still at least have an oven!

MrsJohnCusack · 21/08/2006 11:24

oh and I'll bring milk too

suejonez · 21/08/2006 11:29

Great...

Tortilla Chips
grated cheese
Sour cream

Volunteers please

Uwila · 21/08/2006 12:05

Who is bringing what so far? I made an offer or two, but don't know if they've been accepted by our gracious host?

suejonez · 21/08/2006 12:14

Your offer "I could bring salsa and veg tray (celery, carrots, etc.) " was accepted. I said I would provide diet coke and lemon squash and tap water - if you want to bring any other soft drinks like mineral water i'll leave that up to you.

suejonez · 21/08/2006 12:17

MrsBigD · 21/08/2006 17:08

It's gone quiet on here... is it something I said?

OP posts:
fatfox · 21/08/2006 19:38

MrsBigD

I thought it was a bit quiet too. I think its probably either quiet anticipation and mental planning in the run up to our chilli fest at Sue's, or everyone is completely overcome by waiting to hear the results from my visit to the Fetal Medicine Centre today.

So for the latter folk, I'd better put you all out of your misery then...

The equipment at FMC, is superior to the local hospital's, as it's a research centre. DH and I were speachless at the detailed anatomy we were able to see. Unfortunately we couldn't see whether there was a willy or not, although in theory its possible at 12 weeks, but beanie refused to reveal anything in that department.

Sorry I'm being rude again aren't I?

I went in with a 1:29 risk of Downs (FMC see more high risk patients, hence high risk stat.)

After a scan which lasted about 45 mins, examining the heart beat, blood flow patterns and two heart valves, plus movement, limb length, nasal bone, nuchal fold etc, + my bloods......the outcome was a risk actor of 1:559

In other words, I was told that the risk is now the same as for a 31 year old.

See, I told you I was young looking!

To say I am relieved is to put it mildly - afterwards, I was so ecstatic that we skipped of down the street and, on reaching the station, realised we had forgoten to pay our bill and collect the written report, so we had to go all the way back!

Anyway - thanks again for all your kind thoughts during the last few days.

SnowBoo · 21/08/2006 20:04

Hi Ladies!
Just popping in to see how you all are.

Anyone recommend a nice restaurant in Chiswick/Richmond? Its my 1st wedding anniversary nx month and want to surprise dh....

MrsBigD · 21/08/2006 20:29

xoxoxo · 21/08/2006 20:46

congrats on good news at fmc - we went there too ( I'm a 'femme d'un certain age' as my mum would say).

Good restaurants in Richmond - the fish works is super but you need to book, it has fish shop at the front which is also v good.
Or A Cena just over Richmond bridge is lovely - more intimate that Fish Works, if that's what you are after.
Both are about £25 - 30 a head, excl wine.

xoxoxo

Uwila · 21/08/2006 21:24

Haven't been to Fishworks, but I would give a thumbs up to A Cena.

YIPPEEE!!!! Congrats on the scan. I went to FMC for the nuchal in both me pregnancies. They are fab. Sooo much better than the NHS.
