I just tried to CAT you, but you aren't accepting them. If you want to e-mail me at uwila at hotmail dot co dot uk we can talk shop -- as I'm sure no one else here is really interested in Caspian Oil projects.

YIPPEE... someone to talk shop with.
Am I a saddo or what?

quokka · 14/08/2006 12:13

BigKat · 14/08/2006 12:46

Quokka- hi - I am sure the chilli night will be fun...hoping to be a SAHM myself when I get back, think I have managed to persuade DH that it is a good idea for now..

MrsBigD · 14/08/2006 15:37

Hi BigKat and welcome

I'm a newbie too - only just discovered mumsnet after six years of being a mum! Live in Kew and work in Ealing, but know Twickenham Green very well as both my Mum and Big sis used to live there and I went to RUT college in Twickers. Looking forward to meeting you and hearimg all about Dubai, I've heard great things about it. Have a DS 6, DD 3 and 11 weeks PG.

See you in September!

Uwila · 15/08/2006 10:24

Hi fatfox, I have a 3 year old DD as well. Maybe before the weather turns cold we should organise a Richmond/Ealing/Kingston Saturday meet-up with kids. Kew Garden maybe? Any other ideas?

Uwila · 15/08/2006 10:28

Oh fatfox, I missed your question about the Christmas party. I haven't been to one before. But nanou1, MrsBigD, and MrsRecycle are all going and staying in London for the night. I hope it will be lots of fun. I think CountessDracula has been before.

Uwila · 15/08/2006 11:43

Why is it so quiet here today? Surely you people aren't working!!!!

CountessDracula · 15/08/2006 12:00

I am intermittently

Has the date changed? (see you in September commnent made me wonder)

Uwila · 15/08/2006 12:24

Date hasn't changed. I think the "see you in September" was a reference to bigkat coming to our next meet-up, after she returns from Dubai in September.

MrsBigD · 15/08/2006 13:13

I´m quiet because I´ve been out for my last breakfast in Munich for this stint, now really should be packing my bags.

Hurrah!

fatfox · 15/08/2006 18:32

Uwila

Yes,it would be great to meet up one Saturday. Do you want to name a date? I'm usually around Saturday daytimes with the monsters. Kew Gardens would be great - I'm off work this week and we spent all day at Climbers and Creepers yesterday and all day at Richmond Park (Larks in the Parks) and Marble Hill today. I never get bored with Kew Gardens though. Do you have a season ticket?

Yes the September reference was to BigKats return from Dubai, not the 31 Augsut meet up.

Cheers

Uwila · 15/08/2006 19:54

Yes, I do have a season ticket to Kew. Anyone else want to join us for a Saturday meet up with munchkins? Can't do this Saturday or next. But, September is pretty open.

suejonez · 15/08/2006 23:30

Oh god, it's just dawned on me. I'm to be a mummy. A proper one, where the kid doesn't go home after a cople of hours! Gulp - why did I think this was a good idea - how do I know when to stop feeding - will the baby explode? I might break it...

MrsBigD · 16/08/2006 08:52

I'm on for a Saturday in Kew

SJ don't worry... they won't eat unless they want to ;) Unless of course they were deprived before and just want to chomp chomp chomp in the fear there won't be much more in a while. Guessing once that fear subsides though it should get back to normal.

Also they don't break all that easily. I distinctly remember dh dropping dd and ds at least once and their both still their annoying lovely little selves

quokka · 16/08/2006 08:55

SJ you'll be fine and it's obviously ment to be! Congrats again I'm so happy for you! I was wondering what the russian lessons were for, so sweet.

fatfox · 16/08/2006 09:08

Suejonez

You'll be a brilliant mum because this baby will be so wanted and loved! I can just visualise him/her crawling around in Climbers and Creepers!

That feeling of "am I doing the right thing?" is to be expected, 'specially now the process is back on the road after such a long delay - you'd probably put your emotions on hold for a while during the inertia since June.

I had feelings of apprehension with both of mine before they arrived. In fact, woke up last night at 2.45am thinking OMG, what am I doing having another! don't worry its normal!

suejonez · 16/08/2006 10:06

hmmm, but I really really want to be an Olympic standard gymnast and I'm shit at that!

Still nice to know that panicky inadequate feeling is normal. My mum said last night that one of the women in the maternity home with her when she had me, was wheeled away to the delivery suite saying in a very small voice "I don't think I'm going to be very good at this"

Not sure if she was referring to labour or motherhood!

Uwila · 16/08/2006 10:26

You'll be fine Sue. Now, what is the name going to be?????? Come on, important things.

I'm also thinking that my DS is almost 15 months old, so they might be quite close in age. So, a potential playmate for DS.

Uwila · 16/08/2006 15:14

So a Saturday in Sept. at Kew with the kiddies.. who is in? What dates are good/bad?

suejonez · 16/08/2006 15:17

potentially Uwila they could indeed be similar n age. But my lips are sealed about names (mostly because I won't be deciding until I meet junior).

I might be able to make a visit to Kew in September - go ahead and arrange and if I'm around I'll join you.

MrsBigD · 16/08/2006 15:45

SJ is there anything you need for the 'collateral' you'll be giving to the orphenage? I'm sure I can find stuff in the flat and in the storage unit we have.
