Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

A badge would be nice. Do you have badges with your MN name, your RL name (which would be a bit odd because you wouldn't recognise it) or both? MrsDV how are you getting home? I know my options but I'm not sure of the best ones ifyswim.

Left over from his Army days when he was a young buck and he and his fellow officers would go on the piss in the local villages, to try to make sure that the delectable Fräuleins (daughters the Gasthaus publicans) were at least legal. So as not to bring the reputation of The Regiment into disrepute and all that. It's more of an in-joke amongst them really - I highly doubt any of them ever really asked it!

Copy and paste the list into a new post, add your name in the correct place alphabetically or you will be shot, then post. Then PM Heps or Porto and they will add you to the FB group.

I would do it for you but I am on the arsing ancient iPad which takes hours to do / load anything!

Re badges, MN names only. On the night itself, I'm happy for people to know/use my RL name, including on FB, but some people prefer only their MN names, some will use first name but not last, etc. Anything and everything is fine, it's all what you are comfortable with personally.

I'm a super lurker. I've done it before for another forum when I was a young whippersnapper, I'm just a bit worried you'll all know each other DEAD WELL and I'm rubbish on the internets so don't come across great!

That and explaining it to DH who doesn't know I come on here!

I think these threads give the impression that everyone knows everyone and goes on meetups all the time, but they don't.

I have met a handful of these reprobates once.

There is a hardcore but many of us will hardly know anyone there. People are very friendly and welcoming, don't be daunted!

I haven't met anyone either. Since I am about 20 mins by tube from the venue, I really can't justify stopping out. Plus DH would actually kill me if I left hi. With the Twins of Terror for that long.
