Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

And let's be honest, even if we've met each oth, the amount of alcohol consumed generally leaves us with pretty hazy memories!

Or is that just me?

biwi this is very true, you could prob walk past me on the street and i wouldnt recognize you, but sure we did some disgusting shots at the meet in 2011 or if not you, then def someone else did with me

also a few lovely mn'ers came outside and talked to me as i got rather drunk and cried

those who are worried about coming and not knowing anyone, thats how we all were with out first time

Hey I've just been going through all the Mumsnet meet-ups I've been to in London and I think they may be cursed for me.

I was involved in a car crash whilst I was a passenger in a taxi which was taking me back to Scummy's after a meet-up and had to give my details whilst I was seeing double.

I have had to walk to the venue because there was a major footie match on one weekend and the tube refused to stop at the tube station I needed because it was too full.

The tube was on strike last time so only a limited service was running and I had to queue for half an hour to buy a ticket to a station that wasn't the one I wanted but had to do.

I've turned up at the wrong Travelodge and hammered on a strangers hotel door - the bloody road had not one but TWO Travelodge's on it, how was I supposed to know?

I once cocked up by asking a Muslim Mumsnetter what they called Father Christmas in her house - duh!

I tried to hide a book in another Mumsnetter's veil.

I got on the wrong train once and had to get off and get another one to take me back to the original station so I could start again.

I sneaked into a Travelodge with other Mumsnetters only to be woken at 3am by the fire alarm and had to stand outside whilst they did a head count and realised they had one extra.

Yup, think I am definitely cursed.

Not saying I'm going but have you lot decided on a venue? Just out of interest mind.

Oh and at the last meet-up I was saved from making a humungus embarrassing error by a quick thinking Mumsnetter who I owe a debt of gratitude to.

I still cringe to this day.

The only shots I did were photos, of Blondes and Knotty. Strangely enough, they are all a little wonky and out of focus.
