Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

Cointreauversial is also the best mumsnet name as well.

What ho! It's a great place, literally 2 minutes max from London Bridge tube (Northern and Jubilee lines for the Cuntry Bumpkins) and they can do food for us. Pistey and I reckon £10/head which will give quite a substantial supper via the form of nibbles such as:

Mini bruschetta
Cheese and garlic dough balls
Onion bhajis
Veg samosas
Veg spring rolls
Spicy baby back ribs
Mini Cornish pasties
Crab cakes
Sandwiches from a selection of: Tuna mayo, smoked salmon and dill, chicken Caesar, egg mayo and more but I cba to type the lot.

Pistey has set up a PayPal account for this, and I need to get a good whack to them soonest, let's say by the 31st October please. I'm not going to post the PayPal address on here, so please PM for the details if you are not on FB. As I mentioned on the FB thread, they have agreed to waive the £200 room hire on account of my promising that we're not known for our delicate consumption of booze....

We will have our own bar where other customers will not be able to go, and plenty of seats for the old and infirm and fucked among us.

I n absolutely thrilled and amazed at how quickly the list has grown, and I'm really looking forward to meeting lots of new faces as well as seeing the drunken mob as per! Thank you for such a great response, what a great start to the Festive Drinking we shall have!

Thank you so much for organising this. Couple of mins from London bridge is great, I love that part of London (being a country bumpkin). Will be great to see the usual suspects and new faces as well.

Can everyone wear a badge? Please? Will someone volunteer to do badges? I don't know where my lovely Hearts one came from but some kind MNer did them last year all official-like from some website or another. On the night, I will take a page out of Fru's book and bring along some self-service name badges and maybe even some felt tips so people can decorate them if they want.

I am not very good at remembering names to go along with faces so I am thinking I'm going to be an utter, utter geek and print off the list and bring it along and tick off names as I meet people. Might snap photos on my phone and cross-reference. I know I met juno and juggling and cat and pretty sure blondes...
