Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

Yes, it will be towards the end of the evening and I will serve. I will offer some to a well refreshed Mumsnetter thusly

"And what do you say to a cup?"

and she will reply

"Feck off cup!!"

Oh jolly japes.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 01/10/2013 14:59

I am in the world's second most boring meeting. I am meant to be typing notes. This is my small act of rebellion, to post here, to sock it to the 'man'.

Yeah. They think I'm making notes on how to set up a qualitative review, but I'm not, I'm writing this as its just the way I roll.

I am a sad fucker.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/10/2013 15:04

Have a Brew Keema ?
Would that help any ?
G'wan, g'wan .... Smile

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 01/10/2013 15:21

Is there whisky in the coffee?

I should have known it was going to be a dodgy meeting the moment I saw there wasn't agenda.

ExcuseTypos · 01/10/2013 15:31

I've never been to a meet up but would love to one day. I'm too scared

I do have a good excuse this time. It will be my birthday so I hope expect I will celebrating en famille.

I would like you all to sing happy birthday and drink many, many toasts in my absence.

TIA.

Twas a couple of years back I think, not last year but year before? First time the Facebook group was set up and I didn't do anything really terrible, just cringeworthy for me really. I wasn't myself, I turned into a silly drunken fool. Anyhoo, my memory hasn't faded and I was horrified at what people remembered that I couldn't, so I gave up for 4 weeks and pledged never to be like that again. So far I've kept the pledge.

I will think about it but at the mo I'm none too keen - and no, this isn't some pathetic attempt to get everyone to persuade me just so I can have an ego boost. The do will go brilliantly either with or without me, it makes no difference. I just seem to end up in these predicaments despite my best efforts so I really do wonder if it's worth all the money and effort if I end up feeling sick as a dog, with no memory of the night apart from ancedotes that have me cringeing still 2 years later. I'm sure you all know what I mean Grin

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/10/2013 15:39

There is now Keema - just for you Brew

Hey, keep your paws off everyone this is only for those hard at work - one for you married ?

ScienceRocks · 01/10/2013 17:46

Whoever said they were scared at the fact that previous events have involved wearing dresses and heels, I hear you. Will people talk to me if I am 1) wearing jeans and 2) am incredibly dull? Or can we have a jean wearing dull posse in the corner?

JugglingFromHereToThere · 01/10/2013 17:50

Definitely ScienceRocks - or at least a sofa hogging corner.
Jeans sound good for the last weekend in November Smile Brrrr !

Science no one cares what you wear (as long as you wear something. Although having said that I would have no problem with a few nudists). You must come. It's fun.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/10/2013 19:09

Berry life is shit sometimes isnt it. I am hating work right now, some real stress at home due to DH's work scenario, my dad is really ill and I could go on and on. Thank fuck for MN and for meetups to look forward to!!!

ViciousVampireGuineaPig · 01/10/2013 19:13
