Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

I don't think I shall go. Plus there is no list of who is going that I can see, apart from Facebook and I don't know anyone's real names (well I can count on one hand the people I do know).

I always find it stressful to get to London, I am always late and therefore never get time to have anything to eat and as a consequence of my anxiety and empty stomach I usually end up getting very pissed and regretting it. I am that person who, through trying too hard and drinking too much in order to relax, ends up being the obnoxious one.

So I'll give it a miss this year and probably subsequent years after that. After all, it's not as though I'm even a regular on Mumsnet anymore and have no idea who anyone is.

Ah sorry, I should have checked shouldn't I? I do know a few names, like LRD, BIWI, Blondes, Hully and I think I know that Custy person but still, something usually goes wrong whenever I make the effort. Last time I caught the coach thinking I'd have loads of time but the coach was late, there was a strike on the tube and I got to the wrong Travelodge so I was around 2 hours late and only had 10mins to throw on some clothes before everyone headed out. That's why I got so very pissed so very quickly and ended up staying sober for 4 weeks after that until Christmas.

I did some very embarrassing things that really I am not proud of and so in order to avoid a repeat of such behaviour, I think I am better off at home.
