Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

It really did cure Annie - before MN meetups she was a pain in the arse to be friends with Wink

I've only been to two meet ups. At the first one I wasn't too drunk due to being so hung over that day I could barely look at alcohol. So I remember all of the first one (yes hully even the hour and a half "we are looking for an up" walking home incident). However at the second one I drank like a 15 year old and get a bit blurry on the details. I do know I was standing outside the travel dodgy in very small pajamas at 2 am, after having gone to bed and got up again. At least they were tartan.

Coolwhip "Moar Queen, we want MOAR Queen" Grin

Although I think the dance off final was between Knotty and Hully and Hully won.

LeGavrOrf · 28/09/2013 13:28

Haha at 'at least they were tartan'

Buffy please come. When I first went loads of people already knew each other but it didn't matter at all, everyone was so plastered friendly.

The reason I love you all is when you all say 'you look so YOUNG' and expect me to be a red cheeked stout woman in tweeds when I am 35.

AnnieLobeseder · 28/09/2013 13:36

Yes indeed Dances. And now I'm so very sociable at gatherings that I made new best friends on a regular basis! Wink

AnnieLobeseder · 28/09/2013 13:36

make, not made....

DancesWithWoolEnPointe · 28/09/2013 13:40

LaGavr The fact that I am only 2 years older than you has ruined my day. Wink

I think this I shall be bringing Digby, my epic drinking hat. You have been warned.

DancesWithWoolEnPointe · 28/09/2013 13:41

Valpollicella · 28/09/2013 14:29

LeGavrOrf · 28/09/2013 14:34

DancesWithWoolEnPointe · 28/09/2013 14:39

BellaVita · 28/09/2013 16:52

I need to book my train so can Porto and I take it as red it is the 30th?

DancesWithWoolEnPointe · 28/09/2013 17:03

That was knotty - I lead the walking party. I was not involved in Losing-Blondes-Gate, although we did encounter you en route, alone, bravely making your way back

I did however convince the walking party (Annie, Hully, MrsDV, possibly Ruby, not sure who else) that is was not necessary to take a cab, that it was a gentle stroll. They did not appreciate the hour long wander through London as I wandered about saying "we need to be going up, there needs to be an up" Grin

HepsibarCrinkletoes · 28/09/2013 17:17

Definitely the 30th. Books them tickets people.

FellatioNelson · 28/09/2013 17:55

I so wish I could come to this. Sad

Portofino · 28/09/2013 17:56

My Dh has got over it, Maryz. You have to work gently on them.

LeGavrOrf · 28/09/2013 17:59

I had the same thing on my first meet up.

DP - so you are going from Gloucester to London to walk in to meet a bunch of women in a pub in East London who you have never met before?
Me - no, it's all right, I am meeting two women for dinner first and then going to the party
DP - do you know them?
Me - nope. I am just meeting them under the clock at Liverpool Street.
DP - Hmm

Portofino · 28/09/2013 17:59

Mind you I did once try "oh no! my FB friend has been committed to a psychiatric facility - what would you think about me going to visit her?" After that, meeting women in a pub seemed quite harmless Grin
