Christmas Meet Up for all the Gin Hags (and Wine Witches and Vodka Vixens)

Righto, we're at that time of the year again where a Christmas Piss Up in London Town is needed. I propose a date a few weeks before so as many as possible can join in - how about Saturday 23rd November.

This has only been mooted last night, so I've not even got a venue as yet, but I have some ideas. I will, of course and usual, try to make it an easily get-to-able-near-a-traveldodgy place so that those that come into London can take advantage of cheapy rooms in advance.

So...please can y'all start putting names down so I have an idea of numbers initially and I'll get cracking with a venue in the next week or so. Further down the line I'll put the usual FB Group together (for those who are both on FB and happy to join) - I won't be posting the venue on MN as I'd prefer the hairy of hand not to know. Those not on FB I'll chat via PM near the time.

Maryz I did that once, years ago on another forum (BIWI knows it, but she wasn't at that meet up I don't think, or if she was she hid, because I don't remember her.)

There was no plane involved but I did book a hotel for the night in Cambridge. MY DH insisted he drive me there and we took the kids out for the day in Cambridge first, then he dropped me off at the venue and drove back home, we had our meet up, I stayed the night, and another (random) woman who lived nearish dropped me home the next day.

DH was curtain twitching when I was dropped off and it took him years to admit that he was never fully convinced that I wasn't having an affair.

I just tell mine I'm meeting friends in London and will be late. He just doesn't ask and the next day we have a conversation about whether I had a nice time and who was there and I just say "oh you know, Jo, Maria, Honor" and he says "hmm no wonder you had a skin full then". Helps that we live not too far away and it doesn't have to be a weekend job. Couldn't you just say you want to go to London to do some Christmas shopping and have some "me" time? And you could do that.

Anyways on this day exactly one year ago there were pre pre drinks, pre drinks, drinks and then main drinks going on. There was cake and interesting vol au vents, sofas,a teeny bit of wine, and I still can't remember real names and match them to Mnet names and everyone keeps changing theirs. And Hearts bought be wine. If I come this year I think I should do more drinks.

I am much more straightforward talking. I just told DH I was going to London on previous meet ups he has a moan/nag free weekend he really doesn't mind me going.

Before the party we went in this rather nice restaurant under the arches of London Bridge station. The waiter told us off for not eating all of our greens.

Ooh, I was supposed to go to last Christmas's London meet up and was ill so couldn't make it. Can someone please tell me when and where this one is?

Venue is not yet confirmed, Science but it is on the 30th.

Married fancy you remember me buying wine! I'm not surprised, it is a very regular occurrence. I usually buy a bottle instead of a glass - partly because I CBA to queue at the bar too often but also because it's nice to have some to share & good ice breaker if it's needed
