Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

Hope so! I feel your pain, dd kept me housebound for a long, long time. Thankfully ds2 is a rather more relaxed chap. Not that he sleeps but he can be resettled without milk for a bit and has taken expressed fine. He doesn't do falling asleep by himself but he isn't fussed about feeding to sleep either.

Course this brings a whole different set of sleep problems as he still wakes up a million times a night but gets cross with me if I try to shove a nipple in his mouth when he isn't hungry and instead he expects to be picked up and walked aorund the room til he falls asleep again. But hey at least dh can do that! Have attempted some shush pat type which was fine with no more crying than walking around entails but then he got a cold and his top teeth are thinking about coming through so we've abandoned it for now.

Dd two currently has matchsticks propping up her eyelids but insists she isn't sleepy. Evil mummy feels like letting her stay up till she keels over or takes herself to bed. Fingers crossed she sleeps to have ten tomorrow.

Evil cackle. She just keeled over.

Kind of like William Friday night. Grandad came and he and dh went to a rugby match. Ds1 kept coming down with excuses ranging from "I need a drink" to "I'm bored" just to see if they were back. Then in the morning grandad told us how he was shaken awake at 11.30pm that night by ds1!

where do you want to go Kara? I have celebrating to do- Had interview today to be a deputy for the 2 managers the next grade up and I got it. It means I can cover for them when they are out of the office. It is a little extra pay when I undertake those duties but more about getting the experience at that job as it is the one I am particularly interested in. Woo!

Hurray Spiggy!

Sadly, I've left all my money at home (and my plastic money) to no cake for me. :-(

Congrats Spiggy!

Kara I've mainly been lurking recently, too busy with work (finally have some paid freelance work!) and family issues. But am back online again properly now.

I haven't made the recent meet ups for the same reason, plus it is hard work getting a pushchair on the train to Durham! I'll try and come to the next one though. Thank you fotr the clothes offer - V wears the blue dress you gave her pretty often, and looks gorgeous in it. And thank you Indith for the dungarees - ditto!

Too many "!" in this post. Need a gin. Is it too early for gin? What is a yardarm and how do I know when the sun is over it? Grin

I hope cake was great. And luckily I didn't know before now as I'd have burdened you with guilt. While you were eating cake and smiling at babies etc, I was in a school with ofsted inspectors in presence.

oh well live to fight another day.

oooh not a nice day ishchel, hope you have some cake and beverage of your choice to help you relax.

Viking- I prefer to take the global approach and think that it is 5o'clock somewhere as I pour myself another

Have you had a gin yet?

How about a meet up during half term? Would that work? Shall we see what the weather is like first so we could go to the Botanics?

Oh I need gin now. My insurance company is a shower of shite. And I just got off the phone with them.

I doubt I can do half term tbh but if something is planned that I can fit in, I will come. I am now a student again (distance) and I have a lecture in Northampton on the 3rd of Nov I believe. So will be going down the day before.

What have your insurance company done? Or is it something they haven't done?

What they haven't done. I have comprehensive car insurance. they have been totally inept. minor bump on 10 July. Still driving a damaged car. Now going to write to the ombudsman. Now negotiating my new insurance turns out that since the claim is not finalised it is going down as a 'fault' till the other side accepts liability. so now my premium is higher. tossers.

But still lower than what they were charging me! still a result but still bitchin'.

29th October, Frozen.

Can we do a meetup next week, i.e w/c 22nd?
M is free then. I can do any day but Thursday. Ideally don't want to do Monday, Tuesday I just need to check to see if CM could swap to Monday instead of Tuesday.. though it is tempting to think sod it and be able to eat cake in peace //grin
