Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

Enjoy your first week, Indith. Hope it all goes well.

Oh the admin. So much admin. Tomorrow we get a 2 hour talk from various uni bods, more admin and uniform fitting. Wed we have a thing with our personal tutor and then that's it until classes start on Monday. I got Sunderland so very pleased as they do team midwifery. Need to refine the routine though. Fecking bus was over half an hour late so I missed my train and my back up train and was late. Can't risk that happening too often. I was aiming for the 7.02am bus. There is only one bus earlier than that and that is at 6.16am!

I want a car.

Angry About buses, last thing you need!!
Glad your first day went okay.

Lilleth how did you get on with your Dd at the doctors?

Glad you got your choice of placement, Indith. As a non-driver reliant on public transport, I empathise, but I can't suggest anything. Is a car feasible?

Gawd, Indith, I hadn't realised that the buses were so unreliable. Great thay you are eased in this week. And eek to getting your (I hear nearly always unflattering) uniform fitted, sounds exciting. I wish they started at 10 instead of 9 for the traffic. Must be busy as all of the offers for this year are going out at the minute too.

On a grimmer note, am trying to administer nasty tasting antibiotics to my eldest who keeps splurting it back out in my face and can seemingly detect it in any foodstuff or drink. He is like a bloodhound with it. It is difficult when he can't communicate what is wrong, yet the youngest is always communicating too much! She announced 'Mammy I have hurt my voice, I can't roar' this morning. Never mind the usual, 'I have hurt my bumbum' if she sits down or 'I have hurt my toe' if she brushed anything with her foot. Groan!!

Thanks for asking Kara She has an infection and has some medicine to take which surprisingly she is doing really well taking it. She also has some cream to put on. I have to take her back tomorrow, Im hoping for a better journey tomorrow as I decided to walk the 2.5 miles there which took me an hour. That bit doesn't bother me as Im used to running there and back let alone walking. Though after 5 mins DD2 decided she didn't want to be in the pushchair any longer and proceeded to cry and scream in a tantrum all the way there. I was in a right state by the time I got there.

Indith Good news about getting the placement where you wanted to be. Sorry to hear about the rubbish public transport though.

Golden Hope you manage to get some antibiotics into your eldest. If I have difficulties I just think that some must be getting in and its better than nothing.

Celebrating tonight. I have an interview for a 3 month temporary promotion! Likely to go to my friend as he has more experience in that area but am chuffed to get an interview. specially when I wrote the application on the day it was due in

Golden and lilleth I hope the ABs/creams are working.

Congratulations Spiggy! Fingers crossed for you.

Induction week over, classes start on Tuesday. Looking forward to actually learning stuff! Just hope transport in various forms behaves itself.

She's doing fine thanks Kara It has nearly cleared up. Still giving her medicine and using the cream as per the Drs instructions. She has to go back on Tues for another check-up.

Lovely day today. When I got in my car after finishing the Parkrun in Darlington South Park this morning it was 5 degrees Shock it went down to 4 by the time I got home, but 4 degrees as early as 10AM is pretty good considering the recent weather we've been having.

Hope all are having a good bank holiday weekend. Lilleth, I fear you are putting most of us to shame with your exercising. My OH has kindly pissed off to London for weekend so am doing the single mother thing, which weirdly I find can be less stressful. On a positive note, my youngest had a nap, I had a laugh at the expense of an irritating neighbour + have joined a fb group for when I follow in Indith's footsteps going to Uni in September!

Cake , ooh I like a bit of cake.

Will it be boring for an 8 year old boy or a 5 year old girl? Its school hols and I could bring all 3 DCs (8YO, 5YO and 18MO) with me, but I could also leave them with their dad if that is a better option. What would you suggest?

Ive never been before (in fact never been to Durham before apart from going through on the train) so not sure what to expect.

Im definately going to be coming though and will most likely be bringing at least one DC with me. Is it easy to get to from the Park and Ride or is it better to park there?

Sorry for all the questions. I just like to know exactly what Im doing before I venture out if that makes sense.

Indith · 03/04/2013 15:27

Def not boring, my dcs LOVE the Botanics. I sit on the grass and they roam wild and free. Tis lovely. I am Envy. There is an entrance to teh gardens at the park and ride then you'd have to walk through the gardens to the cafe or there is a small car park at the cafe, it is small though and may well be pretty full in the holidays.

Yes Viking, I can pick you up.
Agree with Indith, 8yo and 5yo will have fun. I will be bringing 5yo.
Sad for Indith and SPB.
We may have to start organising stuff at weekends!
