Next meet up, Tuesday 4th September.
During the day, either Botanic Gardens in Durham or the Slug and Fiddle near the Gala Theatre in Durham City centre.

Now for some random chat.
DS sang a song about bolognaise today. And DD walked some more. But still prefers crawling and using my nipples as handholds on Mount Starbuck.

Cool, thanks Spiffy! Hope you feel better soon.

And Indith - I'll be going back to work in a couple of months and dh will be doing all the drop-offs and pick-ups at nursery as he works so much closer to home. It's very annoying when other people assume you'll be doing all the childcare stuff just because you're the woman, it makes you feel guilty even though you know you're doing nothing wrong! Hope your relatives stop being judgy!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 13/03/2013 10:23

My dh is much better at looking after the children and house than I am. I'm not the most domesticated person in the world understatement of the year Interestingly the two boys take after their daddy and tidy up. Dd takes after me. All I can say is that she had a bedroom. We just can't see any of it...

juneybean · 13/03/2013 12:09

Welcome dupain!!

LillethTheCat · 13/03/2013 12:56

Hi DuPain,

Im new on here too. I dont know anyone either mainly cos I dont post much. I met Trifle once a couple of weeks ago, but that's it.

Im rubbish with house stuff too and leave it all up to DH.

Hope night-time is getting better for indith and people get well soon.

What meet-ups are arranged then?

I know about Newcastle sat, but can't make that one. Though any others I will try to come.

Indith · 13/03/2013 14:16

Hello DuPainDuVinDuBoursinFromage! Welcome :)

Yes what do we have planned other than Saturday?

Indith · 13/03/2013 14:17

what happened to my strikeouts?

Indith · 13/03/2013 14:19

By the way ds2 said I was not allowed to put him down at ALL yesterday or be separated from him in any way. So having not been fed at night since last Thursday he spent all night snotting and coughing and feeding in bed with me. I tried to hand him to dh a couple of times but the poor baby jsut screamed and flung himself back over to me.

juneybean · 13/03/2013 15:18

25th at 10.30 ish in adventure point Darlington

Trying arrange Durham curry for a Saturday evening in April

LillethTheCat · 13/03/2013 16:04

Aaahhh the curry is in Durham. Bit far for a night out for me as I live a little bit out of Darlington anyway. Though have worked out I can afford the odd night out in Darlington at some point. Can do Durham during the day though, infact I fancy taking a drive to Durham at some point to see what it has to offer as Ive only ever been through it on the train. Plus Id like to see how if it would be possible for work up there, which I think it would be, but would like an idea.

So if anyone fancies a meet-up in Durham centre or a meal or night out in Darlington at some point Im up for it.

Will make the adventure point in Darlington on 25th though.

CremeEggThief · 13/03/2013 16:07

Hi, I'll try to make Adventure Point Monday 25th too- even though I have no little ones!

juneybean · 13/03/2013 16:15

Any particular day of the week for cake in Durham Lilleth ?

Creme I don't have any little ones any ways!

CremeEggThief · 13/03/2013 16:17

:). Count me in for cake in Durham too, as I live on the outskirts.

LillethTheCat · 13/03/2013 16:24

Anyday, but pref not Friday morning or Thursdays all day for cake in Durham.

You can help me look after my DD who just likes to run off all the time Grin

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 13/03/2013 16:37

Did someone say cake? A day in bed has made me feel much better so I am ready to talk cake Grin

I can do Tuesdays or maybe Mondays. I may even be able to take a day off. Shock

Am free on Monday but that may be a bit short notice...

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 13/03/2013 16:41

Ooh cake! I'm in, except for Monday afternoons and sometimes Wednesday mornings.

LillethTheCat · 13/03/2013 17:16

I can't do Monday or Tuesday for the next 2 weeks, then its Easter hols, which is fine by me, but maybe not for a few of you?

LeggyBlondeNE · 13/03/2013 18:54

Lo cake! Where would do dairy free cake? Am trying to cut it out in case it is causing reflux as this baby is not a happy puker! Evening fussing severity is directly proportional to how sour his breath is...

Fridays are good for me but can really do any time except Monday 25th

LeggyBlondeNE · 13/03/2013 19:02

In other news, my back is suffering a lot from nearly 5 weeks of sleeping with a baby in constant physical contact. All I want to do is sleep fully on my back without a twist or angle or having protect his airway when he shuffles in close!

Anyone have tips for getting him to stay asleep in the side-cot?!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/03/2013 07:49

Don't look at me, Leggy. I used to have a child who would sleep in a sidecot but since she was about 6mo she only sleeps stapled to my sideHmm

Evenings out are currently off the cards. DD is a nightmare to try to get to bed at 7pm, and even after she goes to bed she'll wake up at some point before 10pm and only boob will do. It's driving me fucking crackers.
Did NCT branch meeting last night and she would not go down, just woke up and cried everytime I tried to put her in the cot. End up passing sobbing child to DH so I could leave, still got there 30mins late (not good when you are chairing!) luckily treasurer and parent supporter were late too!!

I came back 2 hours later to find her still sobbing and clinging to DH until the second she spotted me then she wailed until I put her on the boob. Apparently she slept for an hour, but was still sobbing in her sleep Sad

Hope things improve before next branch meeting as that one is 1/2hr away in Guisborough, rather than 10mins away!

Indith - boo to all the horrible snotty cold stuff.

Hello DuPain, I'm just down the A66 in Thornaby, as there are a few of us Teessiders, we are now starting to have meet ups in Darlo.

Tuesdays are best for me as I can come without DD (who frankly is not compatible with cake eating as I constantly have to chase after her as she tries to escape). But it has to be mornings, but she is now at CM until 1.30pm which makes it a little easier.

I will be coming to the Darlo AP meet on Monday 25th.

OP posts:
VikingLady · 14/03/2013 13:23

I think AP will be our usual Monday morning activity now, in good weather anyway (looooong walk to get there!). It opens at 9.30 so we'll be early on 25th, mainlining caffeine (me) and biting table legs (V).

Try and exercise some of her appalling energy out of her!

OoohTrifle · 14/03/2013 21:55

Don't get stuck up the top if you follow the small people around at AP! There's a particularly tight squeeze at the top of the big climbing frame thingy near the twisted slide. Not worth attempting after a large meal!

Now tell me, can you apply too much Vicks vapour rub? I can't smell it but my eyes are watering. I think I might unintentionally gas DH when he comes to bed later.

VikingLady · 15/03/2013 12:12

I don't think so! But did discover this morning that too much Olbas oil on your pillow makes your face really cold and tingly!

Indith · 15/03/2013 12:12

I am so very, very tired and so very, very pissed off with dh the world. Do we have to shopping tomorrow? Can we not just go to the Turkish baths instead?

Who is coming? Is it just me and Spiggy?

I need:

scaffolding
a coat
smart work trousers x 2
tops- variety of
dresses/tunics- 2
jumpers- 2
jeans that don't fall down- 2. 1 flare, 1 skinny.

Sound good? What might I have forgotten?

Indith · 15/03/2013 12:13

Just don't get olbas oil on your fingers putting it on a child and then go for a wee. Really. Don't.

VikingLady · 15/03/2013 15:50

I'll bear that in mind. Does that mean it might be funny ill advised to touch DH? Grin
