She is still in cot - bed is for playing in as abandoned it for sleep ir now. Been at Disney today(weather was good)-kids loved it, me not so much but have beer and did manage the walking.

Enjoy your day tomorrow lag and CEO.

DomesticCEO · 29/05/2013 21:35

I saw the pics on FB - very cute Smile.

Good for you for managing a day at Disney - it makes me feel tired just thinking about it! Grin

DTisMYdoctor · 29/05/2013 22:00

Hi everyone,

Very envious of a day at Disney Gig! DS was wistfully telling me today how two of his pals have been. Grin

Busy, busy here - not enough hours in the day. Took DS for a transition morning at school today and bought first items of school uniform! So, how many sweatshirts/polo shirts/trousers am I really going to need? Advice welcome!

Hope everyone is having a great half term (I don't think we have a summer one here - not too long until the summer hols!).

DomesticCEO · 29/05/2013 22:43

I bought 4 shirts and 4 pairs of trousers and wish I had 5! DS1 goes to school in clean uniform every day though Grin!

2 jumpers is enough I think as they don't get worn quite as much.

Exciting times!!

DTisMYdoctor · 29/05/2013 23:34

Exciting indeed! Does DS wear branded polo shirts or plain ones CEO?

Gigondas · 30/05/2013 06:34

Agree don't need more than 2 jumpers but do need few shirts. Love the fb uniform pic dt.

Disney is lovely for kids (we are spoiled as got discounted passes so just do day trips like CEO does with lego land). I am just a bit Hmm about whole princess thing.

It's raining here so not sure it will be most active day (despite mini gig being up early and fetching dhs shoes as hint she wants to go out).

DomesticCEO · 30/05/2013 08:22

Logoed shirts for my PFB of course Grin!

I bought shirts with logo to start - they lasted til Xmas and got replaced with cheap plain ones!

Weather crap here too Gig, although supposed to be hearing up for the weekend Smile.

DTisMYdoctor · 30/05/2013 08:33

Grin CEO. I might get a couple of logo and a couple of plain ones to see how I get on. Does DS have four pairs of trousers too?

Shame about the weather Gig. I'm slightly concerned that everyone visiting France lately is reporting rain - if it's not gloriously sunny on our hols I will be most put out!!! Grin

LaGuerta · 30/05/2013 09:10

I differ on the uniform.

I have 2 pairs trousers
2 jumpers
5 t shirts. They don't have logoed ones so just plain.

DS seems to keep his jumper on, so I am constantly washing the jumpers, whilst the t shirts remain pristine.

Next year I will get more trousers and jumpers and the same no of t shirts.

I am a big fan of shorts though. As they are shorter there is less fabric to get dirty so less washing. I have upgraded and got 3 pairs for this scorching summer we are having. He will be in those to November I I have anything to do with it.

Other tip is John Lewis click and collect from local Waitrose. Similar price to M&S but I could actually get the sizes I wanted and i'ts free returns.

LaGuerta · 30/05/2013 09:13

Domestic - we will shortly be on our way to rescue you. The aim is to get out of the house in 20 mins. The only issue is the boys who are glued to the tv and still in their pjs! Doh!

DTisMYdoctor · 30/05/2013 13:01

Thanks everyone. I'm thinking that I'll probably get 4 pairs of trousers, but 5 polo shirts - I tend to do most of my washing through the week in the evenings, but I'd like to make sure there are enough polo shirts for the week so I can wash them all together. Given our location, I'm not sure there will be much call for shorts Grin

I'll go for 2 sweatshirts to start with and see how we get on. I can always order some more if I need to I guess. He'll have a school fleece too.

I started a thread on school trousers for small skinny boys and there seems to be a majority in favour of M&S so I will try those - I can get them delivered to a nearby M&S food store so that's quite handy for me.

Hope you have a good day together CEO and LaG!

DomesticCEO · 30/05/2013 18:47

We had a lovely time, thank you Smile. Was great to catch up.

Surprised at the tip for M&S - I buy DS1's trousers from there and he's anything but short and skinny!

DTisMYdoctor · 30/05/2013 19:19

They do a slim fit version apparently?

Glad you had a good time today!

DTisMYdoctor · 03/06/2013 22:20

I haven't killed the thread. YOU did, in failing to post Grin

DomesticCEO · 03/06/2013 22:37
Grin
Gigondas · 04/06/2013 06:20

It's because I can't add a lot to discussion on school uniform trousers.Wink

DTisMYdoctor · 04/06/2013 07:33
Grin

How was your trip to France Gig?

I'm getting quite excited by the prospect of our summer hols. Four weeks to go!

DomesticCEO · 04/06/2013 20:51

On the uniform issue, it looks like DS1 is going to get through a whole year of school with only ONE pair of shoes!!!! Shock

How can he grow so much taller but still have such small feet?? Grin

DTisMYdoctor · 04/06/2013 21:26

DS on past form can go all the way from Autumn to Spring in the one shoe size, so here's hoping Grin

DomesticCEO · 04/06/2013 22:23

Mine's not the only one then! Smile I bought his school shoes last August and the woman in Clarks reckons he's definitely got enough growing room to make it to 19th July! He was gutted! Grin

Gigondas · 04/06/2013 22:43

Big gig only got new pair at Easter as others so done in. Feet do seen to grow slower than rest of her.

France was great but managed to reopen leg wound and get it infected so back in prison (sorry hospital) while they give me anti biotics and do Minor op tomorrow to fix it. Will have to carry a vacuum pump around as it drains muck out to allow it to heal.nurses were very scathing about cheap plastic surgery as infections big side effect of that . Why people volunteer for surgery beAts me. Makes me positively nostalgic for chemo.

Big gig not fussed by my absence, little gig keen to chat on FaceTime tho threw a spectacular tantrum (full lie on floor, wail, kick legs) when couldn't find me behind phone.

You ok deb?

DomesticCEO · 04/06/2013 22:53

Hope all goes well for tomorrow Gig x

Poor Mini Gig! She must have been very Confused.

Hope you'll be home tomorrow eve x

DTisMYdoctor · 04/06/2013 23:36

Poor you and poor mini-gig, Gig! Although the idea that she was looking for you behind the phone is cute. Hope all goes ok in hospital.

DS's feet have always been slow growing, though he has been known to skip a size on a regular basis. I used to wait at the start of a new season for his feet to grow, but by the time he did there'd be limited choice in the shops. Which is why I have just ordered two pairs of size 9 sandals, even though he's been that size since way before Christmas!

Gigondas · 05/06/2013 05:26

Oh glad it's not just me who is tight and gets feet measured then orders on net. I am big fan of crocs as their sizing generous and last for ages.

Mini gig is very cute- less cute is the full on tantrum. But I needn't worry that isn't bonded with mama as away a lot. She is very sweet natured and quite emotionally perceptive about people being upset etc - noticeable in kid that young (or maybe just big gig very focused on what she wants)

DTisMYdoctor · 05/06/2013 21:20

Annoyingly DS is never the right size for crocs in the summer. However jojomamanbebe do a cheap version that we get instead.

Can I ask something else about school stuff, specifically school bags? DS will have one of those book bags that seem popular these days, but I gather even in P1 that the kids have school bags (even though they don't really need them Grin). What are the little ones sporting these days? I fondly remember my first leather satchel bag, but is it all character back packs these days? If so, what types are popular?
