Getting exciting now Grin Wink!

OP posts:
Gigondas · 22/01/2012 10:10

Another one glad about yesterday - I was worried so no wonder you needed a nap.

The soft play thing sounds a nightmare - dd1 wouldn't have waited 20 minutes let alone longer.

Not a bad night except has usual thing of huge feed and fussing in night and of course now is all sleepy! Her feeding a bit all over place now cos of now bf (and loves ff and is quite greedy) but will sort that when home. She is feeding which is what counts. Not in too much pain (incl swelling) which is good. I agree lag that wi miss the beds here - am being careful as really conscious that painkillers mask what you can be doing.

Home after lunch which is good.

Gigondas · 22/01/2012 15:50

I say meant to be coming home but it's nearly 4 hours since they allegedly sent a prescription for iron tablets ...

TheScottishPlayer · 22/01/2012 15:56

That's a complete pain Gig. Have DH and DD1 been hanging around all afternoon waiting for you? I remember it taking forever to get discharged. I hope it's not too much longer.

I'm trying to start writing my management report. It is not going well so far.

Gigondas · 22/01/2012 15:58

So we are both having a good time Wink
Yes took ages last time but didn't have a 3 year old too.
Plus milk kicked in/ was looking forward to being home so waiting making me feel most sorry for myself Sad
Am sure will be better when home

TheScottishPlayer · 22/01/2012 16:48

Yes, you'll feel much better once you're home and you can get comfortable with a decent cuppa.

I have zero motivation for my management report. And I'm very cross as we're waiting for a painter to do some plastering and decorating but he's very hard to pin down to do the work. He was supposed to be making a start today but no sign of him. Grrrr. I'm feeling more motivated to move sooner rather than later again but only because I've seen a house I like so I'm desperate to get on with the decorating so we can get a valuation done.

disguisedeb · 22/01/2012 19:44

Gig - hope you're home now and feeling more rested. Glad consultant reassured you

SP - softplay sounds horrific

LaG - that nap sounds like it was well needed, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about , we had something similar at a house we sold with a garage conversion. It was sorted easily

IF everything is sorted at the new house then we should get keys on Friday, yes this Friday and we have packed 6 boxes.sil and bil coming Saturday to help us move.

Still looking to buy and thinking seriously about lowering my standards and settling for a cheaper, smaller house and then we would also have money to invest in a house to rent out or a holiday cottage.

StitchingMoss · 22/01/2012 20:22

Gig, hope you're home now - sorry I've been AWOL on the thread this w/e, though we've been exchanging texts so you know I'm thinking about you Smile. Really hope they get biopsy/possible surgery out of the way ASAP and you can get on with enjoying being a mummy of your two gorgeous girls.

LG, what did I say?! Grin I knew it would be damp in the cellar - comes up with every single bloody Victorian terrace on the market Hmm. Sorry they wasted your time and got you all stressed for nothing - hope the paperwork turns out ok. I remember being stressed about missing paperwork before but it's usually solicitors being overly cautious in covering their arses so am sure it will be ok. Not surprised you're stressed - moving house is in the top 3 most stressful life events, and doubly so when you have two pre-schoolers in tow Sad.

SP, Shock about the soft play - although very impressed you would go near one at the weekend Grin. They are in Dante's 10th circle of hell at the best of times, but weekends and school holidays are a complete no go for us.

Deb, good luck with the move - hope it all goes smoothly Smile.

The GP was pretty reassuring about my tongue (thinks it's viral, but it's still not gone away), but was very intrigued by the lump at the back of my mouth. He has recommended I go and see a dentist though as they are the experts! Will be phoning for an appt tomorrow.

Just come back from a w/e with the ILs. MIL asked me about my diet, I told her I'd lost 10lbs and she said "oh" Hmm. Silly cow Hmm.

Right, must get my job app done - it's due in tomorrow! Shock

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 22/01/2012 21:21

Well done on the 10ilbs - that's amazing!

On soft play - that's usually DH's domain on the w/e but I thought it would be 'nice' Hmm for a change. That'll teach me. It was a foul day here so it was really about giving DS a change to burn off some energy. To wet and windy for the park unfortunately.

I'm really glad your doctor was a bit more reassuring about your tongue. When will you see the dentist?

StitchingMoss · 22/01/2012 21:55

Thank you Smile.

Will phone tomorrow and try and get an appt this week.

Stitching, well done on the weight loss, you'll have wasted away by the time I get started

StitchingMoss · 23/01/2012 07:57

Thanks Deb, but I don't think there's any chance of someone my size wasting away Grin!

OP posts:
LaGuerta · 23/01/2012 11:49

You were right Stitching about the damp

Well done in the weight loss too.

Did you get home gig?

Good luck packing Deb. I hope some new houses come on the market that suit.

I think I may just have rattled a friend who I bumped into this morning by giving her my thoughts on people who start going to church in order to get into schools. Blush I wish I enjoyed heated debates a bit more. I don't really like upsetting people. Ho hum... She displayed some very wooly thinking though.

So today is meant to be exchange day. Don't think it is going to happen, still outstanding paperwork to deal with. My solicitor who is married to my cousin is proving hard to get hold of Angry

TheScottishPlayer · 23/01/2012 12:46

How long is it between exchanging and moving LaG?

I hope you're all snugly at home gig.

Not much going on here - I was at the doctors about a silly symptom which, according to the nhs website could be a symptom of v serious illness. I got sent away with a flea in my ear by my GP who was very disparaging about using t'internet to diagnose. I was most put out as I am so not a google symptoms kind of person and I'm hardly ever at the docs!!! I was quite relieved though so I'll let her off.

TheScottishPlayer · 23/01/2012 12:56

Meant to say LaG - I hate upsetting people too. I only really like heated debates with people who like heated debates if that makes sense. I'm not a fan of going to church to get into a school at all. If truth be told I'd probably advocate doing away with church schools (though DS might end up in one).

I've just deleted a huge piece on church schools and parental involvement in their local schools and deleted it in case I inadvertently offend someone Grin

Gigondas · 23/01/2012 13:00

We are all at googling symptoms which is bad. but glad Gp reassured you.

Am home and feel better for it- was bit wobbly re everything last night but think day in hospital not helped. Dd1 (cant say e really!) seems to really be getting used to Being big Sis and is very sweet. Nanny is besotted with dd2.

E doing fine and feeding going ok- have same MW who helped me last time who is establishing bf so can then move to mixed feeding .

I would just like to know what/when muscle sorted as thought I was done with hospitals for a time. Actually feeling ok today but am conscious of how up and down I am- but will take being happy for today Wink

Hope you track down solicitor to sort exchange - they don't make it easy for you (bastards just same at work).

Deb that isn't very long to move in- hope they get move on re snagging. Your house buying thoughts seem sensible as two properties may be easier than finding the "one".

Mud wiggle if you are lurking hi!

Oh and Scottish the bugaboo and the cocoon are great (went for walk which is quite a feat for me given recent weeks). And dd2 still fast asleep in it.

Any tips on good stuff to sky plus at minute for night feeds?

TheScottishPlayer · 23/01/2012 20:08

I'm very impressed that you've been for a walk gig! Do you have sky Atlantic? I think they show episodes of ER etc from years back? Good for mindless night time entertainment. Not sure what else is
on just now. I'm finding the problem with sky plus is that when you miss all the adverts you miss all the new tv show ads!!!

Did you track down your solicitor LaG?

LaGuerta · 23/01/2012 22:41

Scottish - Yes, got hold of solicitor via email at least. Sounds promising. A bit late tonight for details. Paperwork is coming together I think.

I am sad that you deleted your bit on church schools. I am very interested in what other people think. I think I am leaning towards state education being secular.

Well done on the walk Gig. My first walk post c section was a bit unpleasant. I felt as though all my internal organs were on a spin cycle. Urghh. We have photos of it and I just look so rough.

TheScottishPlayer · 24/01/2012 07:17

Hope you make some progress today LaG. How's the packing? I shall try and post my ramblings on church schools later, though I won't promise that they make sense Grin

Going shopping, having a badly needed makeover and being treated to lunch today Grin

LaGuerta · 24/01/2012 07:37

Sounds like a nice day Scottish. Hope you dodge the snow.

Not packing - getting the movers to do it. In part I am lazy, but we're on a relocation package anyway so we're not paying ourselves.

TheScottishPlayer · 24/01/2012 08:46

Me too - I didn't realise there was snow about today!

Excellent news re packing and relocation!

Gigondas · 24/01/2012 08:48

Ohh nice day scottish Envy
Lag - I think Packers are way forward. I was amazed how quickly they did it when
Moved here.

Walk was my up time. By 6pm I was feeling done in and feverish (can't tell if night sweats or what as no obvious sign of infection/mastitis and temperature about 38 so think may be just sign overdoing it).

Dd1 bit clingy last night- woke as had blocked nose but very upset and clingy which is unlike her so soothed her and sat with her. She has been so good and it is unsettling for her (more change in routine than dd2 I think). Still grandma is coming over and they are off to watch peppa pig .

Got biopsy appt tomorrow which is good to get it done. Also anticipating local midwife will turn up at some point- just as well it's not my first/ I had alternative support as imagine if you were struggling and had been waiting 3 days...

Sky Atlantic is a good idea - will check it out.

Stitching Smile at weight loss

LaGuerta · 24/01/2012 10:16

Ok TMI alert!

Watch that temp Gig. I would ask to get a swab (vaginal) done next time you see mw or even biopsy people. I had an infection. I sat watching Wimbledon in June in trackies, dressing gown and duvet shivering and non of us thought to do anything about it. Durr.

Eventually MW took vaginal swab and swab from cs wound which by that stage was weepy. It takes a few days to get path results back so best check it out now

Gigondas · 24/01/2012 11:13

No not tmi lag - am going to ask my MW to check as it has crossed my mind. The thing is I have been feeling so rubbish anyway and have low iron it is all a bit mixed up.

TheScottishPlayer · 24/01/2012 13:07

YY on checking infection.

Drama here and pfb hand holding needed. On train home to as DS has had an accident at nursery and knocked his front teeth. He needs to go to dental hospital but apparently in looks like he'll lose at least one of his front teeth. My poor baby Sad

LaGuerta · 24/01/2012 13:50

Oh no! Poor wee thing Sad and poor you on your birthday. Sad keep us posted. When DS1 cut his chin at nursery and they called an ambulance he bounced back v quickly, but because he is young I doubt you will be kept waiting long.

Gig having had low iron too (at the same time as the infection) I can assure you that the anaemia symptoms are quite distinct from an infection. Tired dizzy, vs, going hot and cold.

Sorry gotta start getting boys out of the house for soft play..
