Getting exciting now Grin Wink!

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 21/02/2012 15:41

Ah, I miss DS falling asleep on me. He did it quite unexpectedly the other week - thankfully I had my phone in easy reach but not the remote control, a cup of tea or some cake!

Gigondas · 21/02/2012 16:05

This is my issue now Scottish - have phone tho Smile

TheScottishPlayer · 21/02/2012 16:34

What did mothers of newborns do before the invention of smartphones eh? Maybe they did that 'sleep when the baby sleeps' thing the books talk about. Grin

Gigondas · 21/02/2012 16:42

Who knows?! I hate to think of dark ages (like what I With dd1). Also last night is prime example of sleep when sleep, as I couldn't sleep even tho had settled dd Hmm

LaGuerta · 21/02/2012 23:10

Good to hear job is good Dizzy.

The iPad laptop etc still not appeared. Now been reported to police at his work's request. It is going to turn up in the house in six weeks isn't it?

Babies sleeping on you is lovely until they become so hefty that you are stuck under them with no escape. Hope the wound and infection heal quickly. Yes I had awful abdominal muscle strains post c section I couldn't straighten myself up for a few days. How is it affecting you?

Deb - hope the supply comes through for you and you can sort logistics out. Sounds exciting though.

Gigondas · 22/02/2012 07:38

It will turn up within minutes of you reporting it to the police. And whilst I hate to point fingers is it possible one of the ds
"put it away" (voice of experience here with ddGrin).
Tummy muscles tend to ache/cramp at end of day - I think no matter how careful you are cos am carrying/picking up dd2 there is some strain.

TheScottishPlayer · 22/02/2012 12:18

I imagine it will turn up when/where you least expect it to LaG. You haven't already put any boxes up in the loft have you?

At home again today. Still felt all flu-like and shivery this morning but I'm actually feeling a lot better now. I've done some work though to compensate.

Gigondas · 22/02/2012 16:24

Little piece of good news - looks like got tumour clean out! I know that never out of woods but this is a massive first step Grin

TheScottishPlayer · 22/02/2012 16:46

Marvellous news Grin Grin Grin

Gigondas · 22/02/2012 17:25

I know If was allowed a drink (anti bios
) i would . Best thing was telling dh who was so worried Smile

TheScottishPlayer · 22/02/2012 20:12

Here's some Wine to tide you over.

Gigondas · 22/02/2012 20:57

Thanks

LaGuerta · 23/02/2012 11:01

That's great news Gig. Smile So is it next week that you find out about the treatment plan? Sorry about the lack of wine. I am having a self imposed alcohol ban this week after 10 days of house moving/GPs staying resulting in nightly g&t and wine. I found I was getting fed up of it. Has anyone else noticed that GPs generation drink quite alot whilst complaining about binge drinking in the young? Hmm

I am having an odd morning because DS1 goes to pre school in the afternoon today for the first time. I am trying to work out a routine for both DS1 and DS2 that gets both fed at the right time and DS2 asleep when we go out. We have cleaned up, unpacked some boxes, romped around and it is still only 11am. I have failed thus far to penetrate the village's under 5s network but I think there is some kind of toddler group tomorrow morning .

DS2 is beginning to talk. "Yeah" and "no" with the odd noise that might be "hello". He is mostly using this to point at the cake tin say "yeah" and nod vigorously Grin. Poor child: now the GPs have gone all the cakes have been eaten and the tin is empty.

Gigondas · 23/02/2012 12:22

Yes next week treatment plan news. Radio definite needed - am hoping no chemo (I think issue is that although not cancerous they arent 100% re what is on lungs and that is an area that need to keep close watch on). I suppose we all know we will go sometime but getting used to having to be ultra careful re health and having reality of your dx being serious is a big change in my reality and seems to be what having cancer means.

I totally agree re Gp and drink - my mother over and her and my stepdad can shift a fair amount of wine just having a "quick drink". Then it's a subject of amusement at home how much my family can drink (except me).

Good luck with getting into the pre school mafia. My return to that has been buggered as keep missing nct catch ups due to hospital etc but I guess I can join in at some point.

Is ds2 still napping to give you some free time?

Re dd2 and wind slightly better night but think Moses basket may not help. Dd1 loathed it as mattress too thin and dd2 seems same.

Mudwiggle · 23/02/2012 13:48

Back in the UK and back online - yay!

Dizzy sent me a message on FB re: your news Gig, I'm sorry, bloody awful timing when you're recovering from a CS - not that I'm sure there would ever be a good time. Glad the tumour was out clean. Thinking of you!

Loving being home, no regrets or doubts whatsoever, but we've all been sick pretty much since we arrived. Well DS2 is now better, but as he is the loudest and has just learnt to scream (not crying, just screaming) I'm not sure that's a good thing.

NB: Is that a marijuana leaf on the tea cup? Shock Brew

Gigondas · 23/02/2012 15:35

Welcome back mud Grin and glad you are happy to be back but sorry it's been poorly times for you all.

Yes no good time to hear this but am living strong (or string as dizzy Mis typed it Wink) to borrow from lance Armstrong and determined to get better .

Am resting in bed as dds out with nanny at park which feels quite nice although cant actually sleep. I hate this too tired to nap when have baby but was same with dd1

DizzyDancing · 23/02/2012 19:36

I'm thinking of copywrighting Living String Gig Grin - wristbands, t-shirts, all sorts, what do you think? Grin Wink

Lovely to hear from you Mud, and so glad you're happy to be home Smile.

LG, yes I agree about GPs and drink Grin.

Right, DS2 won't settle Sad and dh is out at a work's do so it's going to be a long evening!

Gigondas · 23/02/2012 20:47

I think it could catch on Smile dizzy.

Sympathies re ds2- I am resigned to no evening for quite a while (although so far we havent had the howling colic at night dd1 went in for , that's saved for lunchtimes Wink).

Off to the 80s music reminiscence thread now - anyone else remember glenn madeiros?

DizzyDancing · 23/02/2012 21:02

Managed to get him to sleep by 8pm, considering he's been awake since 5.45 that's not good Sad.

I sang him , which I've used as a lullaby for both the boys since they were born - has always worked with DS2 and did tonight. (I don't sing it anywhere near as good as this unfortunately Grin!).

Anyway, now off to watch the last episode of Inside Men - didn't watch the beginning of the series but watched the penultimate episode at my parents' house last week and want to know how it ends Grin!

TheScottishPlayer · 23/02/2012 22:07

8pm? That's amateur hour in this house Dizzy Wink

DS has started singing lullabies to me - punishment I think! He's inherited my not-so-musical ear!

TheScottishPlayer · 23/02/2012 22:11

Sorry, meant to say welcome back Mud!

I saw a mention of colic Gig - I was evangelical about Dentinox when DS suffered from colic, it was the only thing (plus a dummy) that worked. I remember really resisting a dummy and then cursing myself for doing so when it worked! I hope you get some sleep soon. But 80s music you say?

DizzyDancing · 23/02/2012 22:25

step this way SP Grin

I'm now signing off as the 80s thread is making me feel very nostalgic and I'll be up til 3am listening to all this stuff on YouTube if I'm not careful!

TheScottishPlayer · 23/02/2012 22:33

I was singing along to Deacon Blue in a piano bar at 2am last week. On a school night! Blush

Gigondas · 24/02/2012 08:59

Deacon blue. That's nostalgia .

Will hunt out some dentinox. I think it's part wind and part she is a clingy age so wants to be sleeping on someone.

Amazing what a difference a good nights sleep makes as had zero energy last night.

TheScottishPlayer · 24/02/2012 12:42

Glad you got a good nights sleep. The bonus with dentinox is that you can add it straight to the milk and give it with a feed.

I love Deacon Blue. I also liked the mentions of Aztec Camera (another old favourite) and Fairground Attraction on the other thread.

So pleased that it's nearly the w/e. Though DH now has the lurgy Sad
