Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

Boo for accidents and allergies! Poor Spiggy and Spiglets.

Would some super-secret squishy news improve your mood? I hear all the coolest gals get knocked up in May...

Indith · 29/05/2012 17:21

Ooooooooooooh Grin

Indith · 29/05/2012 17:22

How are you all today Spiggy?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 30/05/2012 06:46

Leggy - squeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 31/05/2012 09:28

Yay Leggy! That has cheered me up Smile Hope you not feeling too sick.

DD is fine- we've had no repeats of the reaction. Docs tomorrow to get a referral. Nursery have been fab and designed an action plan for dealing with any situation while she is there. DS2's fingernail has fallen off but he is not bothered by it at all. He certainly isn't going to let it put him off climbing things Grin.

We have finally finished sort of the children's bedrooms. Carpet arrived on Tues and they look fab. They are the first rooms in the house to be finished only been here 3 years and is so nice putting the furniture in the room and knowing that it is not going to be shifted again in a couple of months. The novelty of being able to use the rooms has not worn off yet- the DCs have spent the past few nights just running from one room to the other Grin

LeggyBlondeNE · 01/06/2012 14:01

Oh good, glad to spread some smiles! Am not sick, another week or two before that kicks in based on past experience. (Also, are my boobs going to get EVEN bigger? They haven't shrunk back since I stopped BFing!)

Am quite tired during the day already and rather prone to feeling teary for no reason. That didn't happen last time! I can only put it down to the hormones-plus-toddler combo!

(Kara will get this one: I read a newbie's review of the Starbuck-into-the-nebular episode of BSG and actually cried at my desk!)

LeggyBlondeNE · 01/06/2012 14:02

Good news on the rooms; it's always the nicest bit, when they're freshly done and shiny and not totally covered in crap yet!

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 14:05

Oh no spiggy! Hope you get answers soon.
Congratulations leggy :o

Indith · 01/06/2012 15:33

Jubilee random crap! Both dcs have a delightful Crown mug with a coat of arms and a picture of her Maj. It rather satisfies my inner yearning for royal stuff. I am still sort of mourning the fact I didn't buy a Will and Kate biscuit tin. I want to serve my future grandchildren cake from a commomorative biscuit tin.

Just about packed. House is a mess, need to tackle that tonight.

Leggy I have nork envy. Ane yes, second time around is so much more tiring with the toddler to look after too!

Can't wait for France. Quite sad to be missing the village street party though. They have put a display of photos and articles from village history up in the hall which is fab, I got to read it all while doing toddlers. SPB are you going to the party? Even if not try to pop to the hall tonight or something when it is open as the display is well worth looking at, they have articles and things about the closure of the railway line and mines which is cool. Princess Margaret once spent the night in a siding at our station on the royal train! More cool because E can now say Princess Margaret slept at her house Grin.

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 15:37

Lol at random Crap. I think my grandma had Charles and Di mugs, they were never to be drank from :o
No, hoping to go away this weekend with a (very) last min deal. Just somewhere local as it will just be me, dh is working, hopefully the weekends of working are.coming to an end.
Enjoy france!

Indith · 01/06/2012 15:40

exactly, every gran has to have some sort of royalist shite! Does T not have a mug? On the side not adorned by her Maj they have the local council logo on so I assumed they were all getting them.

Hope the weekend working stops soon :(

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 15:43

Probably, hs at the childminders. I am meant to be working! Doing my best but all the systems are down and everything's so slooooow
I have tome off in summer - weeks rather than the odd day :o we must all arrange a meet up then if people are about. Pleased to say I am really looking forward to spending a decent amount of time with tje dc, I couldn't have said that and meant it even 6m ago :(

LeggyBlondeNE · 01/06/2012 15:57

Envy all you like; I'm the one who's going to have to buy yet more bras and will have saggy boobs to my waist in old age! (Probably the worst thing about naturist camps as a teenager, the depressing images of where my body was headed!)

Hope France is lovely.

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 16:04

what will the age gap be?

Indith · 01/06/2012 16:14

my parents go to naturist camps. Thankfully they discovered it after I had left home!

SPB glad you are enjoying the dcs more these days :) We all get rough patches, they do pass. I hope. Anyone want to buy dd?

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 16:16

my dd will have her if you'll take the £7.34 in her money box. She was listing the people who would be invited to her party the other day - D was top of the list, along with your other children whose names she mispronounced in an amusing fashion, but just realised I maybe shouldnt post it!

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 16:21

oh and some news - not on the same scale as Leggy's :o - this job I work so hard at (in my defence I do some odd hours, did about an hour at 11 last night) has been made permanent. Part of it is on a lower scale because of the details of the posts available but I DON'T CARE. I love it, I can do it, and they want to KEEP ME.
The lack of stress from the last job i had will no doubt be part of the reson why I'm enjoying life and children so much more. I have stress in this job, normal job stress, not "waking in a cold sweat in the middle of the night" stress

Indith · 01/06/2012 16:29

That's fantastic! Very happy for you :)

A is very sweet. Is she planning her birthday already? That could involve a long summer of "not yet, a few more sleeps"!

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 16:36

She is planning it in a non whiney way :) shrek theme , until ds asked "did she definitely want shrek party bags or did she want Ben 10 ones, or both" - err no, not both!
Shoidnt you be gone? What time are you setting off, and what time will you have your first glass of vin?

Indith · 01/06/2012 16:40

Going in the morning, have somehow managed to be all organised Shock ds2 just feeding to sleep on me. dh taken big 2 to the shops to get our picnic for tomorrow. Just hope traffic not too bad tomorrow! Will be hellish won't it. Bank holiday plus half term. Urgh.

Shrek is fab.

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 16:50

Well done on being so organised! I'd be packing at midnight. Traffic might not be too bad if you go early, and everyone might think its bad and avoid travelling!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/06/2012 17:16

Enjoy your holidays, Indith!!!

SPB - great news about the job! and that you are feeling less stressed :)

BTW am organising a Sunderland slingmeet in Shildon at Locomotion next Friday is anyone is interested? A few LLL folks will be going.

StealthPolarBear · 01/06/2012 18:03

How are things with you, D and C Kara?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/06/2012 21:32

We're good, Cara is pulling herself and is trying to stand unaided :) She has just about started cruising too. Daniel has been coping well with being at preschool 5 days a week.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 02/06/2012 11:51

Fab news on the job SPB. Cold sweats in the middle of the nights stress is awful- feeling on high alert all the time is not good especially when you have kids to deal with.

Hope everyone enjoys their holidays. Smile

My grandparents didn't have any royalist shite but then our family is a combination of Irish Republicans and descendants of Oliver Cromwell Grin
Me and DH keep having to bite our tongues during the jubilee. DS1 keeps going on about it and doing things like waving flags and shouting God Save the Queen. But he is enjoying himself which is the important thing. We can save the indoctrination for the republicans once the party and fun stuff is over Wink (DH does keep threatening to play the Sex Pistols version of God Save the Queen though)

Oh yes, I had my scan on Fri- Coil is in place- it is just the strings which have moved upwards. They are going to leave it there but I am left wondering 1) how the bloody hell they will get it out when it needs to come out 2) how paranoid I am going to get if I can't tell if it has come out or not.
