Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

I can categorically state that you are not required to be good at parenting to have 3. large quantities of gin needed though

I was good this morning and didn't poas. Only have 1 stick left and will use that tomorrow.

One of DH's colleagues bought a house with FirstBuy recently. I think the asking price is the total, so your 5% deposit and the equity loan would come off that.

According to the leaflet about it:

You must take out a first mortgage (with a qualifying lending institution e.g. a bank or building society). This mortgage, together with any cash contribution from you, must be a minimum of 80% of the full purchase price the maximum full purchase price is set at £280,000.)
The Agency and the house builder will provide equal equity loans to fund the balance needed to make up the full purchase price of your home, up to a maximum of 20% of the full purchase price. These equity loans must be repaid when you sell your home, at which point you must repay the same percentage of the proceeds of the sale to the Agency and the house builder as the initial equity loans (i.e. if you received equity loans for 20% of the purchase price of your home, you must repay 20% of the proceeds of the sale).
In addition, you can, if you wish, make voluntary part repayments of the equity loans (?staircasing?).
The equity loans are interest free for the first five years. After that, you will pay a fee on each of the equity loans of 1.75%, rising annually by the increase (if any) in the Retail Price Index (RPI) plus 1%.
If you purchase a home through FirstBuy, you will have 100% title to your home and you can sell it on the open market without restriction, subject to the repayment of the equity loans.

fingers crossed juney!

Who is coming on Tues? I am- with middle sized and small cake stealer.

Indith · 09/05/2012 13:17

I will, with small one and possibly middle sized one depending on time/place!

Indith · 09/05/2012 13:21

keeping fingers crossed too juney!

DamselInDisgrace · 09/05/2012 14:28

Good luck with the offer. We've been trying to buy a house, but everyone selling round here seems to think its 2008 and prices are still rising.

StealthPolarBear · 09/05/2012 16:10

Let's do vennels again, not been in ages! 10am?

Indith · 09/05/2012 16:30

Sounds good to me :), can manage that without dd so long as you all throw me out by 12.

juneybean · 09/05/2012 17:24

I'll be there! Don't start work 'til half 1 that day Grin

(where is it?)

OP posts:
Indith · 09/05/2012 18:21

Up the Vennel next to Scorpio (the cool shoe shop).

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 09/05/2012 20:09

I'm so glad we are not going to be moving for quite some time. I was a nervous wreck by the time we'd finished buying this one. Good luck damsel- hope you have a successful offer soon.

I caved and poas. BFN. Which actually makes me feel a whole lot better and that it must be due to T buggering up my cycle. I bet anything that AF will show up the day that I'm due to go to the gynae to get the coil put back in.

I'll not be at Vennels til 10:30ish.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 09/05/2012 20:25

I'll come, I will bring both, need to let preschool know that D won't be in that day.

I have some clothes for A and also an item or two (not pink!) for V!

StealthPolarBear · 09/05/2012 21:06

Woo hoo :) Kara, glad you can join us, was worried you couldn't do Tuesdays

Indith · 10/05/2012 14:02

I have never been as happy to see the postman as I was today. you lot will know what I mean even if dh gives me a Hmm look. I was almost out of breastpads so I ordered a load of lansinoh ones off Amazon nice and cheap. They didn't come so I grabbed some at the Chemist on the school run a few days ago and they are crap. Really small, hardly absorb anything, no sticky so they slide around and they have really crinkly edges. I've spent most of a week changing pads after every let down, leaking everywhere at night and with really itchy boobs. I am so comofrtable right now it feel amazing.

StealthPolarBear · 10/05/2012 14:11

Glad to hear it, tho I had a couple of packs, wish you'd said! I mean individual ones though so prob wouldn't have seen you through

KaraStarbuckThrace · 10/05/2012 14:52

Just bringing the small one, have arranged for DS to stay for lunch at nursery, but like Indith need to leave at 12pm to pick him up at one.
See you at Vennels on Tuesday!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 10/05/2012 16:38

I have to have lansinoh ones. Tommee Tippee used to be the same but the changed after I had M and went rubbish. Lansinoh ones are the only ones that I've tried that actually last longer than a couple of hours.

VikingLady · 12/05/2012 21:54

The only pads I have found that can cope with the massive flooding overnight are some reusable ones from ebay. Cotton, from China. Brilliant. I found all the disposable ones filled up really fast and I woke up with trench nipple. Not nice.

Can't make it on Tuesday any more. Sorry. Meeting up with my mum instead as it would have been my Dad's 60th birthday if he was still around, and she'll be rather low. Note to self: express enough to cover tha hangover too...

StealthPolarBear · 12/05/2012 22:02

Oh VL I am so sorry :( Hope you are OK. Try to resist the urge to drown your sorrows too much.

StealthPolarBear · 12/05/2012 22:03

also sorry, obviously you're not going to be able to make it but completely understand why :(

KaraStarbuckThrace · 13/05/2012 20:16

VL Sad hope you and your mum will be okay, totally understand you want to spend some time together.

Indith · 14/05/2012 10:02

Sorry we won't see you and tiny V VL. I hope you and your mum have a good day together.

I have a bag with Spiggy's clothes and kara's dvd in. Now all I have to do is remember it! I shall have dd with me afterall, decided I'd rather not be rushed and that way I can just nip up to Laurel Ave instead of driving back and forth!

Ds2 slept quite well last night. I am spurting milk in all directions and of course did not sleep well for poking the baby, listening for breathing and wondering if me boobs were going to explode. Wish he would make his mind up, he either sleeps well (by well I mean feeds around 1 and 4) or gorges himself all night.
