Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

Can definitely do the 15th. Possibly the others if I can take the day off.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 16/04/2012 05:11

I should be free any day, just need to arrange for D to have the day off preschool - he finishes at 12 so if it is morning meet up won't be able to get back in time.

Off to Primrose Valley today, woot!

Indith · 16/04/2012 09:52

15th best here, dd can have lunch at nursery. 16th can't really do at all as ds has another eye appointment at hospital. 17th could do afternoon, I run toddlers in the morning.

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2012 10:49

15th would be slightly more preferable for me as well. So shall we say morning of the 15th? Indith, can probably give you a lift if you fancy one?

Indith · 16/04/2012 14:05

Morning of the 15th good for me :)

SPB I expect I'll be zipping back to grab dd from nursery at 12.30 then heading over to Laurel Ave for the bf group in the afternoon but thank you :) I shall see you before then though I hope! Ds and dd looking forward to T's party, ds has the date memorised and is telling everyone Grin. There is a quiz night on the 27th of this month (must find myself a teenager, yell if you know one) let me know if you are coming, we have to tell Beryl for numbers. We didn't win last time so we clearly need more brains!

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2012 14:09

Ahh thank you but the 27th is his actual birthday and were having a family tea. Hope you win. T will be really pleased w and d are coming, or rather he has been assuming they're coming and getting excited :)

Indith · 16/04/2012 14:14

rats Grin

What does he want for his birthday? Or rather is there anything I can add to that he will like without filling your house with more stuff

LeggyBlondeNE · 16/04/2012 16:07

Oo, I think I can do the 15th! It's just before all my exam papers arrive on my desk... I'll need a pre-marking boost!

StealthPolarBear · 17/04/2012 22:56

If you would like to get him somethiing then I imagine he will like whatever w decides is cool :o but there is no need, i mean that. Would never send a woman with a tiny baby out in the snow for a 5yo birthday present :o
Speaking of which snow on w's birthday - fine, to be expected. But I wonder whether this year therell be snow on t's!

Indith · 18/04/2012 08:17

I know, crazy! We have a load of birthdays coming, I'm sending dh to the toy shop with the dcs while I'm at the hospital workshop on Saturday.

Hope you can come Leggy :)

Indith · 24/04/2012 17:41

You lot are quiet!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 25/04/2012 10:56

work. And a child who thinks that sleep is for wimps. T has all but given up on naps during the day which you would think would make him sleep at night. Noooooo, his longest stretch is about 3 hours, going hourly from about 3am. Am so tired it is unbelievable. Am hoping it is developmental. Mon he learned to stand unaided and took a few steps which he practiced all frigging night but last night was "only" up at 1, 4, 5:45 and up for the day at 6:30.

Have got a day off tomorrow as have to wait in for a delivery. Hoping it comes at 9am so I can go back to bed for the rest of the day Grin

Indith · 25/04/2012 11:05

Sleep is for the weak, did you not know that?

Probably is developmental, developmental leaps, brain goes crazy and tjhey forget how to sleep blah blah blah.

I thought ds had hit the next growth spurt, he fed loads for a couple of days/nights then yesterday and all bloody night (apart from between 3.30 and 6.30 when he slept but dd didn't and dh's alarm clock went off because he forgot to switch it off when he got up at stupid o'clock to get a train) he fussed, fed for a minute, fussed, slept for 2 minutes, fussed, fed 2 minutes and so on and so forth.

Urgh.

Off to talk to Ofstead this afternoon at surestart. They assure me there will be someone to look after dd. Hope so!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 26/04/2012 09:25

shit night again last night. How does he not need sleep? He got handed over to Daddy at 3am last night so I got a couple of hours sleep. Hope A was better last night. Has D got an appointment at sleep clinic yet?

Viking how are you and V doing? Got over the "I've been hit by a bus" feeling yet?

LeggyBlondeNE · 26/04/2012 09:41

Poor tired mums! You're making me feel much better about our sleep disruptions and very grateful not to have a

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 26/04/2012 10:14

ooh I might pop along on 1st. DH in London all day so getting out of the house at during the day will stop me going bonkers plus ds2 might sleep in the car

Indith · 26/04/2012 13:15

I can't make it really, dd to pick up at 12.30 then over to Gilesgate for 1pm which I failed miserably to do this week because when I picked dd up I asked her if she needed the loo, she said no. walked to car, put her in, notced pants were wet. Go home, get everyone out of car, send dd to change, ds2 wakes and so needs feeding and a nappy change....by which point it is gone 1 already.

Ds2 slept ok last night. sorry about your lack of sleep spiggy. Ds2 is still tiny, I don't expect sleep, you have the right to expect at least a small amount!

Dd booked in for sleep study number 2 on Monday but dh has to go to Leeds on Tues. He suggested I pick them up in the morning and drop him at the station. I refused (I would have to take them in the evening so I had the car here then get ds1 and 2 up at 6am to drive in, pick up, get dh to his train then go home and then out again for school run. No thank you dh. So he is in charge of rebooking since it is him who has to stay overnight. I can't be bothered with any of in tbh, she probably sleeps through about 50% of the time now.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 26/04/2012 21:18

Sleep? What's that then. Toothy peg number 5 is putting paid to that...

Leggy, will that be at 1pm? If so, I should be able to make it, I could come up after picking DS up from preschool.

juneybean · 28/04/2012 18:14

What do we think of Stanley? #mightbebuyingahouse

OP posts:
Indith · 29/04/2012 18:26

I don't really know much about Stanley. Exciting about house though!

LeggyBlondeNE · 29/04/2012 21:13

Kara, yes I reckon 1.

Juney - I've seen that Stanley has a new bit with some nicer looking new houses, but to be honest, the bits I mostly saw on the bus and in the centre when going to BF group were pretty grim. The high street is quite depressing and it's one of the places where a large number of people are accessing food parcels I think (I seem to recall an article about Consett which also mentione dStanley.) That said, some of the other ladies at BF group were happy enough that they never mentioned any problems. I could just be being all prissy after growing up in an exquisitly lovely bit of England!

juneybean · 29/04/2012 21:35

I grew up in Shiney Row so it can't possibly get any worse haha.

I feel like Stanley is further than I'd like, but for my money I can get a 3 bedroom terrace house in Stanley compared to a 2 bedroom flat in Gateshead :/ Tis very confusing this house hunting malarky

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/05/2012 09:24

I will be joining Leggy for lunch at the botanics!

Indith · 01/05/2012 09:30

Wish I could! Have a good time :) Happy birthday Leggy!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 01/05/2012 10:44

Won't make it today. After another awful night I took T to the Drs. Looks like he has an ear infection. Got some anti-bs so hopefully they will start to work soon. The poor boy is knackered and so am I. Hope you have an lovely birthday Leggy with lots of cakey goodness Smile

Juney- I have a friend who lives in Stanley- his comment is "at least it isn't Consett" Grin Good luck for the house buying. When we've bought houses we've gone for the worst house in the nicest area. So houses that have needed a bit of work or aren't very nicely decorated and then we've been able to add value to them but they are in areas that people want to live. It has worked- we've always made a profit (even during the recession) and sold quickly. It depends how long you are planning to live there though!
