Hello hello! Here I am with good intentions to behave and show up to some meet ups since I utterly failed in 2011! Grin

So we need ideas for daytime meets and of course we must not forget our night time meets Wink

Daytime Ideas
Beamish
Saltwell Park, Gateshead
The Giants Den, Team Valley
Botanic Gardens
Beach (in the summer of course, unless we want airborne children!)

Okay so ideas for January daytime, I think cake is definitely in order so I propose the one that's next to Ebony, the huge place, down some steps, uhh... Slug & Lettuce is it? CAKE!

January night time? Is this something we want to plan? I know we're always poor after Christmas!

Hope the ABs work Spiggy!

Ds2 playing games with me, he slept beautifully for a few nights in his bit of the bed, even went down at the same time as the big 2 on Sunday then last nighgt refused to budge from my nipple. He is all snuggly and asleep on me now though so I'll forgive him :)

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 01/05/2012 12:14

Well he's been in bed for over an hour which is the first daytime nap for ages so fingers crossed. It got so bad last night that DH had to take over even though he was on the stupid o'clock train to London. I clearly make children that are defective in the throat/nose/ear department- do you think I can ask for a refund? Is the warranty still valid?

Hope it was a temporary blip for A and he is back to sleeping in his own bit of the bed tonight. Wish T would snuggle- he just tries to climb all over me. It was nice last night when I came home from work though. He was standing in the dining room window and when I came round the corner he started jumping up and down, pointing and shouting mama, mama. Smile

I can do 15th, I think. V has been on antibiotics for the best part of a fortnight, which has not been fun... BF on demand is all well and good until you suddenly have to starve your 6w baby before and after each dose, 4x each day. And it was orange flavour. Turns out V does not like fake orange. But we are free to leave the house again now!

Sorry about T!

juneybean · 01/05/2012 14:32

Grin Spiggy, well they arsed up the appointment anyways and both my brother (policeman) and my dads friends said to avoid that particular area of Stanley so I told them I wouldn't re-arrange the appt.

I'm going to go see one in Pelaw today but it's one of them 50% share thingys and I'm not sure I understand them.

Sorry I couldn't meet today!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 01/05/2012 15:02

Woo! 2 1/2 hours of nap and he work up with a smile. And I've been able to put him down this afternoon DD being a PITA though

Viking- poor V what's been up with her? Our GP always said that bf didn't count as food so we've never stuck with the "take on empty stomach and 1 hour before food" instructions. She's breastfed 3 and is very sensible and doesn't mind when the children run riot while she's trying to talk to me

Juney- where in pelaw? Have friends living there.

Indith · 01/05/2012 15:41

Viking sounds tough, poor V.

Spiggy yay for naps! fingers crossed for tonight.

A is snotty again it seems and all fussy. I am grumpy.

Juney you are not doing well enough, we need rightmove porn.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 01/05/2012 15:55

It was very nice, the communal area stunk of smoke but I can deal with that!

Really spacious and they had the same ikea furniture I want Grin

Looks nice :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/05/2012 16:18

Looks lovely! Seems like a nice size.
the 50% option doesn't sound too bad if you have the option to purchase the other 50% at a later date. Some of the houses here are shared ownership, our next door neighbours' is one but they are regretting the shared ownership as they have no option to buy the other 50%.

Indith · 01/05/2012 16:27

What is your search area?

juneybean · 01/05/2012 16:36

I'd love to live in Gateshead so around there, anywhere along the A1, avoid Sunderland (sorry Spiggy!)

I rang co-op and they said on my wage they'd offer 54,000 so around that price and I've got 10% deposit

nice living room I love a good alcove around a fireplace.

what is Blaydon like?

And now rightmove seems to have died.

juneybean · 01/05/2012 16:59

I can't believe you've broke rightmove! Grin

Not sure about Blaydon, I shall ask the brother!

I don't understand mortgages and things, someone hold my hand and do it all for me ...

you need to talk to an independent, most estate agents can send someone round. they get their cut from the bank not you, doesn't add any expense. Natwest has a good calculator on their website so you can change your deposit and stuff and see the repayments at different interest rates. Fees are expensive now but you can usually add it to your mortgage so don't worry too much about them.

Indith · 01/05/2012 17:18

a whole house! difficult to see how much work from pictures.

very nice flat and you get to pretend you are on homes under the hammer.

Indith · 01/05/2012 17:19

can you tell ds is feeding a lot? need to go cook dinner for big ones. much creaming from ds2 I fear.

juneybean · 01/05/2012 17:26

See I worry about the do-uppers because I'm not DIY inclined and don't want to spend all my savings although I can see the appeal, such a mindfield. I like the Blaydon one!

No Place/Beamish one is lovely isn't it, I fell in love with the bath!

OP posts:
Indith · 01/05/2012 18:00

I suppose the price you are looking at you have to either do as Spiggy said and buy a bit of a wreak to do up in a decent area or you have to buy in a not so good area even if your brother objects to it! Or you move to somewhere further out like the Beamish one. There will always be the occasional bargain but there will tend to be a reason for the low price. I'd have thought that most nice properties in nicer areas will be out of your reach. There is the odd one around us it your price range but they are the not so nice properties and given that there is a lot for sale round here I'd be wary of going down that road. I would, because having a family we would know that it was a long term thing should we ever move but you don't know what is coming 5 years down the road so you need something that you will be able to sell should your life change.

juneybean · 01/05/2012 18:04

Yeah that's true, I don't mind looking further out but don't fancy being murdered in my sleep Grin I'll keep looking!
